I ordered two ice cream cakes from the Provo Cold Stone 24 hours in advance for my mother-in-law's birthday to be delivered at 6:30 pm the next day. 30 minutes before delivery time, the Door Dash driver sends us a message saying the cakes aren't ready and won't be for a few hours. I had to call Cold Stone because they never reached out to me. I was informed "the system" didn't put our order in until 5:30 pm the day of delivery. I explained that I had a confirmation email from Cold Stone that was received at 7:45 pm the night before. The "manager" of the store never apologized or explain why the mistake happened. She did allow us to switch out the cakes we wanted for ones that were pre-baked. When I asked what they would be doing to make up for this terrible customer service she replied "Well it wasn't anyone in particulars fault. It was the system, so there's nothing more we can do." I would normally rate chains that I like that I feel are too expensive as a 3-star, but the service at this place has been so consistently awesome I can't. For people who aren't familiar with Cold Stone, you pick a base ice cream and toppings to go in it. They have a lot of great pre-determined mixes called Signature Creations. We usually take one of them that overall looks really good and make minor changes. I usually go for strawberry banana rendevouz (another name for it: fruit stand rendevouz), but the white chocolate chips are kind of annoying so I substitute that out for graham crackers or oreos. read more

Coldstone is always a favorite amongst me and my buds, no matter which one I go to, I can always count on it to be tasty and satisfy my sweet tooth. This one was no different--I'm a fan of the "Cake Batter Batter Batter" with a little bit of hot fudge added. Feel free to create your own flavor, pick up a cake or shake, or finish off a long day with a cookie sandwich. There are so many different options and various items to choose. The employees were quick and great. The ice cream is smooth and "thick", I honestly don't know how else to explain it... But it's delicious! I wish this location was a little bigger, with so many BYU students in the area, it always seems busy and packed. However, feel free to grab it to go and take it home. I order the same thing every time. A child size Sweet Cream with raspberries and graham cracker crumbs. It is perfectly sweet without being overly sweet. Before getting my (staple) ice cream, I usually ALWAYS sample the same flavors. They're the flavors I love but would never want to order: Cotton Candy, Oatmeal Cookie Batter, Pumpkin. *Not all scoops are created equally. I'm not a big review guy but I couldn't resist with the quality of service we received. A guy named Jensen was working the front by himself and was AMAZING!! He introduced himself when we walked in, offered samples and recommendations, and was so patient the whole time. Right after we showed up there were like 10 people that showed up and even with the rush he was kind and patient. He didn't make us feel rushed and yet got us everything very quickly. I mean, this is a chain, you know what you're gonna get. It's basically exactly like all the other Cold Stone locations in the universe. Above average ice cream, above average service, below average bathroom cleanliness. They're literally all the same. So I'm going to take this opportunity to share not one but TWO great experiences I've had at this location. As a warning, these aren't like... tales of wonderful service or times that ice cream saved my life or anything like that they're just like funny stories that happened here which have forever endeared me to this particular location. The following does NOT describe a typical experience (probably.) Story 1: It was a straight up blizzard, I was headed to a Yelp event in Orem when I realized it was not gonna be safe to drive there so I pulled into the plumb tree plaza parking lot. My intention was to turn around and go home but I saw the cold stone and thought, "well, if I'm gonna die in the snow I might as well do it with a belly full of ice cream." I walked in and the only employee that appeared to be in the building was straight up ASLEEP on the floor behind the counter. He was SHOCKEd I was there, which in retrospect, makes sense. Who goes to get ice cream in a blizzard? but there I was and I hung out with him for like 20 minutes. No one else came in and the snow wasn't really less bad when I left, but I made it home alive and it's a very fond memory. My second story is of the time that I walked in on one employee proposing to another. Literally down on one knee with a ring and everything. The chick being proposed to looked like she wanted to run to Alaska. I was basically like... "if you guys want to finish this, I can come back later" or something to that effect and she said, LITERALLY, "please don't leave." I'll never forget it. I swear I thought the woman was going to melt from mortification. She told the dude that they hadn't been dating long enough and she needed time to think about it then BOOKED IT out of there. I mean out of the building, into a car, squealing tires and GONE. I like to think that she changed her name and started a new life with a less creepy boyfriend and that my being there gave her an opportunity to escape. read more

My husband and I went out for desert and I weals super excited because I don't each sweets often. We got there and the girl helping us was very clearly more interested in the fact that her friends showed up. I told her what I wanted. She comes back with not even close to what the picture looked like. She then told me that the 2 different kinds of cookies, that were suppose to be apart of the ice cream, were all gone. So then she hands me the cup of vanilla ice cream with frosting on top. She asked me if it was okay and honestly the way she said it made me feel so guilty I just took it. I am a Cold Stone fan and have been to many Cold Stones in Utah and Salt Lake County. This Cold Stone location has the best pricing by far! I usually get Coffee ice cream with Heath bars. Most other stores you get the crumbs. This location puts in whole pieces and breaks them up so you get larger chunks. read more

what a joke. don't get me wrong- ice cream was as good as ever! walked into the store and stood in line. 2 young guys came and stood behind us, one was not wearing shoes! the tall guy behind the counter was practically yelling over everyone in the store. eventually the tall guy behind the counter let the guy with no shoes come through the kitchen and behind the counter to serve himself and his friend. i don't care if this young guy also worked there- that's super gross! he had on no shoes and he had long hair and just walked through the kitchen and then started making ice cream. I like this location more than the Orem mall location. I have been here countless times and consistently enjoyed my Peanut Butter Cup Perfection. The employees are generally great and enjoying their job. I definitely prefer Cold Stone over Subzero when it comes to the quality of the ice cream.
