Alright let's just stop at the door at this one. The smell, this one will not great you with a sent of waffle cones or sweet cream oh no.. It's the smell of cleaners, curdled milk,/sour milk.. Not pleasant at all (the waffle cone sent is one of the signature things about cold stone in my mine) The signs of a sloppy clean up job day after day have piled up and this place needs a deep clean. The stone.. layer after layer of different mixes not properly removed from the prep area. Messes all over the place, I would hate to see what's hiding in places we can't see. Next the employees.. the guy looked as he had not showered in days and would wipe his face and hair and get back to adding more flavors to the curdle cream.. I'm not sure I can ever eat at a Cold Stone after this past visit. read more

This place is a small spot to get your ice cream on the go. The mix it in front of you. The staff is friendly and will help you. Something you may have to be aware they are making your order so it will take time even with one staff member working the line and the onlines. Customers need to be patient with them. Love their sweet cream with strawberries and yellow cake. read more

Maybe my order would have been correct if the associate who helped us wasn't wearing headphones.

We love the cookies and cream ice cream cake here! It is the best ice cream cake we've had so far! The other ice cream served here are delicious. This is a small ice cream shop. There are two tables and a couple seats. Most people order to go. There are times when it is slow to get what you need as they usually have 1 person taking the order and putting the ice cream together. read more

Good place for a customizable ice cream treat! They gave huge portions at this location! I went with the peanut butter lovers with vanilla ice cream instead of chocolate. It was very good but very rich. The waffle bowl had good flavor but it was hard and stale. The service was friendly and overall we enjoyed our treats. read more

got to the place. The line was out the door there's exactly 10 people in front of us. We waited 45 minutes to get ice cream they also ran out of fudge??? two people working. read more

I had a taste for something sweet and decided to stop at this location. Oak Park Cold Stone staff was amazing. I decided to try the Lucky Charms ice cream. It was very good... it taste just like the cereal and very sweet! You must wear a mask before entering and they ask everyone to wait until they are outside to eat their ice cream. read more

Unfortunately I found a piece of hair in my ice cream and the employee didn't seem to be bothered by it. She was working behind the counter without a hair net, after I looked around and noticed the back was terribly dirty with wet rags thrown around. I looked for the health rating and was advised it was by the door but didn't see it posted anywhere. read more

I found this place. When I went to oak park to watch a movie. I really enjoy the service, the ice cream is really good. We have to wait a little but is understandable when you have many choices and they make it infront of you. I have to comment the staff with dealing with unsavory customers. I was shock how many people don't know how to act in public and then blame the staff. I will recommend this place to any one. read more

I-SCREAM INXS A frozen dessert chain known for their diabolical mixed concoctions. After a quick dinner at Potbelly and some amazing live music on Marion St, my girl and I were in the mood for a late night snack. We stopped in here for a sweet treat of such sugary proportions that I knew I'd wind up with type 6 diabetes the next morning. I got a "mint mint choco choco chip" or something equally insane, while Nichole C got a version of their "birthday cake remix". Only in the US of A would shoving chocolate brownie pieces and chocolate chips into mint chocolate ice cream be a thing. 'MURRICA. Two small deluxe cups cost $13, which is pretty steep for some mothalovin' ice cream. I wanted mine in a chocolate-crusted waffle cone with sprinkles because there's something wrong with how my brain is wired. Alas, the worker spaced out so I got a cup instead :( Fairly expensive for what you get, considering all they're doing is stuffing desserts into other desserts (illuminati?!?) read more

If the ice cream was not so delicious this store would have a one star. The woman who was serving me was so rude. I didn't have a complicated order, I got two types of ice cream, caramel, reese cup and cookie dough. She was an older woman who looked like she hated her job and I could feel it. She did not talk to me and if she had to she spoke under her breathe. She didn't even hand me my ice cream, the other woman working handed it to me and she rang us up as well. It was the weirdest thing. I was in such a good mood before I went in here and was treated rudely. This location is unfortunately the only location that is near me UGH. read more

The ice cream itself was fine although $5.19 plus tax for the smallest size vanilla in a cup topped with 1 Reese's peanut butter cup is steep. There was only 1 person working so the line moved slowly. My teen and I had planned to eat-in but there are only 2 small tables with a total of 4 chairs in the whole shop, and a group in front of us claimed all 4 chairs. So instead of standing at the empty table we took our ice cream out into the cold, eek. The woman who prepared our ice cream and touched the toppings did have gloves on but then handled the register and money wearing the same gloves. I'm hopeful she changed gloves before starting the next order, but I'm not sure. I don't remember her putting on fresh gloves up make our order. This place would definitely be on the "absolutely never " list for my other food-allergic child who is allergic to peanuts, dairy and tree nuts and usually just gets a plain sorbet in a cup with fresh fruit topping at other ice cream parlors. The peanut butter cup ice cream mixture is prepared at Cold Stone on the same slab and I think the metal scoopers are re-used so 100% chance of cross-contamination it would appear. But, to be fair, I didn't inquire about their food allergy safety policy and procedures since I'd left my good-allergic kid at home. I'd recommend Brown Cow on Madison in Forest Park for a safer experience if there are any food allergy issues. They take cross-contamination seriously at Brown Cow. I probably won't come back to Cold Stone unless I have a coupon and it is warm enough to walk around outside as it is very expensive and there's no room to sit in this ice cream parlor. read more

Horrible service at this location. I placed an online order for a birthday cake for delivery they gave the wrong item to the delivery person. You are advised by the website to contact the store if there is an issue with an order. No one EVER answers the phone at this store. For a place that handles items that people incorporate for special occasions they have no care in the world about being accessible to their customers. I had to file a complaint with corporate and I hope I am able to get my money back. read more

Disgusting. Used to go here all the time years ago. Came to town and was excited to be nostalgic. What a let down. Bathrooms was out of order. Rap music was playing. Trash was thrown all over the floors and tables & the garbage can was over flowing. A light bulb was dangling from the ceiling. The woman who said she was taking our order only took 2 of ours (there were 3 of us) and then she disappeared. When we got to the register we had to let him know what we got because she was nowhere to be found. He accidentally charged us for 3 so then he had to refund me. Unfortunately he didn't know how, and neither did the other gentleman working. We had to wait for the woman who initially ditched us to emerge in order to get our refund. By the time we left none of us even wanted our melted ice cream because it was so dirty in there that we weren't comfortable consuming anything. Seriously Coldstone, someone needs to get in here and fix it before they get shut down. read more

If you visit on a rainy Tuesday night, you probably won't run into the problems listed in the other reviews... we didn't! No line, and got one of the two tables right away! My boyfriend and I came here for some stress-dessert indulgence. I got "The Pie Who Loved Me," but replaced the fudge with peanut butter. Ahhhh.... So so good. I loved that pie right back. My boyfriend got the peanut butter cup perfection in a waffle cone. And maybe it was just the drama and tension of the evening, who knows, but he couldn't finish it. I think he repeated over and over again for an hour afterwards that it was "too much ice cream," and that he was baffled about "how can they not have smaller sizes?" Fair point. But somehow, I'm ok with doing my part to ensure the American obesity epidemic continues. Give me some sweet cream or cheesecake flavored ice cream as a base, and I can down a "Like It" like a champ. read more

There really is no way that you can mess up ice cream. Well, let me retract that statement because I have had some ice cream worthy of having the bowl thrown against the wall. But at Cold Stone Creamery, they get it right. Surprisingly, Chicago shut down many of the stores only for the vacant spots to be replaced with frozen yogurt shops. What horror. What a crime. I had the Oreo Overload in a waffle cup. Pure happiness. And then a group of giggling teenagers who spoke with an excess of the filler work "like" entered and wasted fifteen minutes of ordering whatever ice cream they wanted. Nothing like taking your time enjoying some of the best store-bought ice cream in the Chicago metropolitan area and watching a long line form behind indecisive teenagers giggling and pontificating. But the service from behind the counter was still upstanding and that made Cold Stone that more of an inviting place. Chicago proper may be anti-Cold Stone. Oak Park isn't. And it was worth the drive. read more

It is a rare occasion that we go to Oak Park and my wife does not want to get ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery. She is more into ice cream than I, so she usually orders and we share. Yes. 2 two-tops does not work! read more

This location is a tad small especially for the amount of customers and clients hell that this establishment draws I mean on foot traffic alone it seems like once they seen it a line forming than everyone wants to get in the line as well you can expect long lines slower service and being squeezed in really tight if you want to sit and enjoy your Creamery Tree on this particular day that I went I was able to get a Groupon and they were promoting their funnel cakes and you can get the funny funnel cakes made as a Sunday similar to the one that you would get at Six Flags but on a much smaller scale and takes a little while for the funnel cake to be popped in the oven I believe they have to hit in the oven but it was a hit with my family everyone enjoyed it you got your choice of ice cream whipped topping fruit it was really really good it was unexpectedly good Cold Stone is good so but that we were happy to see the funnel cake was were absolutely obsessed with hopefully we will see it back summer 2018 read more

Place was super dirty. Spent $16 on 2 small ice creams. Cup was barely full and added way too much toppings per ice cream ratio. Did not wash hands or have gloves on. Makes for a pretty picture, but not that tasty. I know the concept is to mix the ice cream with the toppings, etc....but the person fixing mine barely added any toppings and was just mashing the ice cream until it was mush. Won't be revisiting and will stick to my other ice cream shops. read more

The service and the state of this establishment was appalling. The employee who approached us to take our orders (3 customers) took 2 of them and then literally walked into the back and did not come back out, until another employee had to ask for help refunding us because they charged us incorrectly. 1 of the 2 orders wasn't even given to us correctly. I am not sure I should even post here as all I've read are posts from dissatisfied customers and not once has management responded. My experience...I visited this location once before and the line was extremely long but I waited because the name precludes this particular location BUT....... My reason for posting is for my experience yesterday, Monday, October 12, 2015. I went into the location because my two telephone calls were not returned by Owners Sergio/Elizabeth Hernandez as promised. I called to inquire if this location would participate in a scavenger hunt planned for a group of 4th & 5th graders/ages 9 & 10. I called twice and left messages with Andrea and another unidentified female both times even explaining the purpose of the call. The location would not have to do anything but simply agree to participate or decline the offer. Upon entering, there was a family of 3 sitting at one of the 2 tables and I did not observe anyone behind the counter. I looked for a bell to ding and after awhile began to make noise to get someone to come to the front. A woman appeared and I don't recall if she made introductions or not but I do recall her being rude and unprofessional and I told her so. This woman said her name was Lucy and identified herself as the Manager. I initially asked for Sergio or Elizabeth Hernandez as I was told either of them would return my call and I assumed the only ones who could make a decision on my inquiry. Lucy told me if I had not gotten a call back it was probably because they were not interested. We went back and forth about her unprofessionalism. I am sure once I left the paper where she wrote my information down went into the garbage. Lucy has a bad attitude and has lost my business! UPDATE I reached out to the corporate office as well Thanks for contacting the My Cold Stone Club! We appreciate your being a member of the club and will respond to your inquiry as quickly as possible. I've never ordered a cake from any cold stone, but I figured if they cost more than a cake from Dairy Queen, their cake decorators must be phenomenal. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing any more cakes from this Cold Stone location. When I sent my friend to pick up the cake, he called me and told me it was done, but still needed the writing. I said it's fine just wait the time for them to write on it. Their writing looked like a 4 year old wrote on it. As a cake decorator myself, it was very upsetting. Luckily, the cake was for my 20 year old boyfriend whom wouldn't have mind (and didn't), but still. I paid $50 for this cake, I at least expected some good writing on it. read more

I am really upset because if you're gonna be an ice cream establishment that is supposed to have the special toppings they're supposed to come with and you guys run out. You can't simply replace them with another. They were out of chocolate ice cream too. Like come on! Place more orders so you guys don't run out! I am giving this 3 stars because the ice cream looked melted and honestly just weird. The vanilla and chocolate were the only normal looking ice creams so we got those w the cookie dough and brownie. I will say they were great. The other ice cream was still questionable though which is bizarre to me in an ice cream shop. Your employee, Ellie, was great and deserves a raise. If I could give a 0 rating I easily would... what a joke of a cold stone. Honestly I was so excited to have a cold stone down the street from my new apartment in downtown oak park. Walked in on a nice summer night to the most disgusting, unclean food business I have EVER been to. Garbage was overflowing with cups and napkins all over the ground, the ground was black from food smearing all over the floor, handprints all over the windows and cases... gross. Employees were rude, irritated and unaccommodating. Note to employees and management: if you don't enjoy working at a service industry job then quit and never come back. Corporate should investigate this location immediately. Will never return read more

Definitely don't go there just for the ice cream, unless you want to mix in toppings/candy etc. The ice cream itself is sub-par. It tastes really bland, not flavorful and not good-quality. It's REALLY expensive. I don't mind paying $ for ice cream, if it's good. But this is not worth the money.
