My son and I usually go here once a month! He's always gotten the same thing. Milkshake or ice cream with cake batter, cookie dough, and cotton candy with marshmallows. It's always been his go to. Over the summer he was visiting his father out of state and he got the same same thing. We went last night and we told we could only get two flavors. So we left. I don't know why they've been doing the three flavors for so long and all of a sudden they just stopped, but they've now lost business because we used to like certain things. It's very frustrating because it's always been done and it was done at other stores. I don't know why they have changed. And the girl was so rude. We went on the evening of Thursday August 29th. We had an unusual experience at Cold Stone... Our ice cream was put into the cup melting. The service was great, awesome options, and extremely clean location inside.. a bit difficult to find but you'll figure it out once you loop around the mini strip mall. The ice cream or shall I say "creation" itself was a bit off putting. Perhaps it's the heat from the Blimpi sand which spot located within the premise? Not quite sure, but Cold Stone Creamery is best serviced cold, and when the creation you've ordered is being made, it should still be chilled and hard rather than a melting mess. Which unfortunately seemed to be our issue. Prices are definitely on the much steeper side of ice cream, we were charged 7.99 per creation and it melted even more as we walked it. I wanted to sooth my sweet tooth and save some money since I had a Cold Stone gift card so I came here. Upon my arrival I was greeted by multiple servers. Great service, no problem. I place my order and patiently wait for it. I am smiling from the inside out with excitement because my ice cream was coming!!! I ordered one of their flavors which was cake batter ice cream with regular and golden Oreos and whipped cream. All of my favorites wrapped in one, can't go wrong with that right? Well... I'm not sure what went wrong, but the 1st bite was the best and then after that things went down hill. There was a terrible aftertaste and I wasn't sure if it was from the ice cream base or if it was from a mixture of the flavors. Either way, it went from a party in my mouth, to not. I was a little disappointed because I really wanted some delicious ice cream and I wanted to try a new flavor. Unfortunately, I can not give this 5 stars because there were a couple of improvements that could have been made. Service: There were only two employees working and it seem that they were having trouble trying to keep up with the domain of customers at the time of service. Service was greeted with a smile and trying to work as fast as possible but I feel there could be some additional training. Counter for preparation of orders was pretty dirty. In addition, it seem as if they don't care about appearance of the store even when being shared by a sandwich shop. Food: My order was made correctly but I was little scared to even order due to it not being as clean as it should be in the prep area. Overall: There is a lot improvements that need to be made at this particular location. If you blink you will miss it. A great spot for great ice cream. I haven't been to a Cold Stone Creamery in ages. I finally visited one because an awesome LivingSocial deal I bought. $4 for $8 at Cold Stone! I visited this Cold Stone and the one in Culver City. (I went to the wrong location by accident. The LivingSocial was only valid at the El Segundo location. Oops!). At least I had the opportunity to compare both the El Segundo and the Culver City location! Between the two, I prefer the El Segundo Cold Stone. The reason is because it is bigger, CLEANER, and there are more signature ice cream options than the one in Culver City. Also, the ice cream here was more fresh... if that makes sense. I enjoyed the signature ice cream I had and I will be back! Sooner rather than later! Terrible service and experience. My boyfriend and I were refused service because it was 10 minutes before closing when we came in. We had been out that night and thought it would be fun to get some ice cream before going home. We walked in and were immediately told to leave. I understand that the employees want to lock up and go home, but they shouldn't refuse customers while they are still open. It was very rude, especially since there were a few customers in there already who were being served their ice cream. Terrible customer service! Most folks I know are happy if they still have jobs right now. I walked in and couldn't even tell if they were open or not. So I stood there waiting for the two workers to acknowledge me so I could ask. Neither did so after 3 minutes I asked if they were open. Rude, youngish, Caucasian looking girl curtly answers "yeah" and turns back around to show me her back and go back to playing on her phone or whatever she was doing. So....I ask if I can order. She sighs and turns around. I ask her a question about their menu items and my God you would have thought I asked her to walk on fire or some other outrageous task. It was like pulling teeth to get an answer from her. By this time I'd had enough. I told her, "Well you are just a ray of sunshine aren't you? Don't trouble yourself any further, I'll go somewhere else". I then left and did just that. I headed to Rite Aid down the street to get less expensive ice cream and way friendlier service. In theory this is amazing. In practice I haven't been bold enough to try the Blimpies. What can I say about Coldstone? They pound the hell out of your ice cream. If you want ice cream that's been taught a lesson, Coldstone is your place. The end result is delicious, and bizarrely expensive. We order cakes and get ice cream at this Cold Stone ALL the time. I always get brownies as my mix in. If you are health conscious keep in mind there's a kids size...it's not shown with the other sizes, but you can ask for it. You feel less guilty when you eat the kids size for sure! One birthday I got a minion ice cream cake here. It was just their round cake and they made a minion face on the front. It was adorable and totally affordable too. When I first saw the reviews for this place, I wondered how an ice cream shop could have only 3.3 stars. Now after trying it, I wonder how they even got 3 stars in the first place. I was very disappointed with the service from the time I walked in. I walked through the door of Cold Stone - where I spend altogether too much money. It was exactly 10:00 and the open sign was still on. The tallest girl working said, in a not friendly voice, that they closed at 10:00 (by my phone it was exactly 10:00). Of course the ice cream does not merit one star. It is always good. But this treatment was unkind. I was so pleased to arrived before closing for to go ice cream for my son and myself. But this employee was more interested in her stairway night plans.
