Katy was responsive, thorough with instructions upon pick-up, and perfect on creating my vision for our sons first birthday. The cake was the centerpiece for the whole party. I tried Shawnniecakes for the first time yesterday with my wife. I saw that they had toffee…read morecookies. I love toffee cookies. I wanted to get a six pack, but I know myself well enough to know that, if I buy six cookies, I'm going to eat six cookies regardless of whether they are good. After reading that, it probably won't shock you to learn that I have high blood sugar. So, I really can't be buying six cookies that I'm definitely going to eat before I've tried them to know whether they're good. So, I got one toffee cookie and a cheesesteak. The thing about a steak sandwich is that it's really important to get the peppers and onions just right. I don't know how to do it, which makes it tough to explain it, but you have to cook them each the exact right amount so that they each pick up a little bit of the taste from each other, but not so long that they turn into one homogeneous mush. The cheesesteak from Shawnniecakes had perfectly cooked peppers and onions! It also had a very good bun, and a generous portion of steak. My wife got a few things (breakfast scramble, potato salad, baked mac, and molasses cookie), at least one of which was for one of our kids. She said they were all excellent. I believe her favorite item was the molasses cookie, but I know she said everything was very good. I guess I never mentioned how my toffee cookie was. Let's just say that I'll be getting the six pack next time.

I was happy to find the small shop in the early afternoon on a warm Saturday. The sweet, understated smell that enveloped me when I walked in confirmed I was at the right place. As I arrived later in the day and was only looking for a sweet treat (or two), I was fine with the limited selection of cupcakes and cookies in the up front case. There may have been more available to me if I asked. The person that came out from the back was very kind and offered a free sample of the bread pudding they had that day: cinnamon roll. The small bites of the sample (warm, gooey, cinnamon with frosting) convinced me to get a full size. Wright Touch also had a cupcake flavors of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, red velvet, and mint chocolate in the case and I choose the mint chocolate. All the cupcakes have a filling in the middle. Both the bread pudding and cupcake were great. The cake and frosting were dense and not too sweet. The bread pudding was everything you would hope for from a cinnamon roll and then some: soft, sweet, and chewy. Tasted homemade and I have no notes. I would highly recommend checking out Wright Touch for a sweet treat or bread pudding. I can't wait to go back!

I wanted to support a local baker. When I sent the inspiration picture, I was told it was achievable. I don't mind a little artistic flair, but oh my..... the trees were PURPLE! The cake was in buttercream rather than fondant. All the decorations were falling off and I had to reapply them myself. When I reached out to Sara, the response was "I did buttercream to save you some money" and "I'm not a professional baker". Like WHAT!!! I paid over $400 for this shit cake. I would have been more than happy to pay whatever it would be to have my cake look halfway decent... I specifically asked the photographer NOT to photograph the cake. NEVER going back...
