This is definitely the place to go for a fun meal. Their loaded fries are really good. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken fries again and they hit the spot. I also order the glamping shake which is their take on the Smores Milkshake. I will always visit if in the area. read more

Came here a while ago with the family and I was hoping it would be better. The cheese on both our loaded fry orders was heated to the point where it all just became solid and not wasn't melted/gooey making it harder to eat read more

took my girl out on a dinner date to this cute little place and the atmosphere was amazing as soon as you walked in it feels like your in a different city. food was beyond our expectations( everything was made in house) . Don't even get me started on the service, by far the best service we've gotten in a long time. I hope everyone gets Megan as their server. read more

Wow!! This place ROCKS! Visited here as we passed through the city and we were so glad we did! There's so many options for ice cream, shakes, and fry's!! I wished we hadn't of eaten lunch prior to coming here because the fry's looked amazing. We specifically came for ice cream and found the variety plentiful. I appreciated the different options they had available for people of all tastes and nutritional needs. You can also get the ice cream in a bowl or in a waffle cone, so more options! The environment and decor is unique as well. I appreciated the time and energy they took to make this business what it is today. So vibrant, fun and inviting!! When we pass through to visit family in Cedar Rapids, this is going to be one of our main stops along the way now!! read more

Talk about a gut bomb, but it is so good, the food here is unique and good. Fun atmosphere and the workers were helpful.

Me and my husband love this place. We come a few times each summer. We enjoy the outside seating and the vibe. Service was great, everyone is always so nice and friendly. Me and hubby decided to share everything. We got the porker Sandwich. It comes with crispy chicken, pulled pork, American cheese and jalapeno peppers. The chicken was nice and crispy. The pork was good but very saucy and sweet. It was good. The take 5 sundae was mind-blowing. The ice cream itself was so creamy. It was packed with goodies. Caramel, hot fudge, peanut butter, pretzels and peanuts together with vanilla ice cream was perfection in a cup. Then of course I had to have my favorite CBR. It is exactly what it stands for only on fries, with melted cheese and the best ranch of your life. I can not stress this enough, their ranch is a must try for Midwest ranch lovers. Thank me later. Great visit. We will be back in a few weeks. read more

One of our favoritest spots to stop for ice cream and fries and a must when cycling through Uptown Marion! The staff and owner are always so welcoming and their service is awesome. Enjoy their seasonal setups for their indoor and outdoor patio and they also have a set up for your pup. They have premade pup cups inside or you can grab a fresh cup or cone too! read more

This has become my instant go to ice cream spot when I'm in this area. The items we chose proved to be as delicious testing as they were inviting visually. We chose the strawberry shortcake and the s'mores sundaes. The strawberry shortcake sundae comes with a mini strawberry shortcake, cupcake perched on its side. Easy to detach and consume quickly. The s'mores sundae has a dollop of chocolate mousse that was smooth and delicious, two lightly toasted marshmallows and graham cracker at the bottom of the sundae. The ice cream in between was delicious. They have a lot of options to choose from and it was difficult to select just two. The atmosphere was so inviting and festive. The fellow patrons were laid-back and fun to be around. There's a courtyard in the back that easily accommodates, large groups, and families with children running around. Great place. read more

After a few visits, I think I'm ready to share my thoughts - I'm underwhelmed. Something here just doesn't quite click for me to make it a great experience. But I'm also overwhelmed. Their menu is limited, yet somehow overkill. Each item has so much going on. The ice cream options fare better than the fries. Portions run small for the price. The layout of the space is the real dealbreaker for me though. Dining in is uncomfortable because the seating options are poor, but also because there's zero space for folks to wait. Go during any kind of Marion event and it's a total madhouse where even spilling onto the patio areas is difficult. I wanted to like Frydae more, but it's just not doing it for me. read more

Visited this weekend with a group of small kids to celebrate the beginning of summer. The owner was working and from the jump looked annoyed and was not welcoming or friendly to our group at all. The kids were loud and excited, but her face was pure disgust as if she'd never seen kids in her business before. Ma'-am, I'm sorry you hate your job. After a 3 year tradition of going to Frydae, we won't be back. read more

I have to start by saying I'm glad I don't live closer to Frydae, or I would be there way too often! Not living close by, I wasn't aware of the business until I won a gift certificate. As soon as I saw a picture of the shakes, I couldn't wait to try. Luckily, I had an appointment nearby and had some time to stop. In addition to the amazing-looking shakes, Frydae has a big selection of street fries. As much as I wanted a fun shake, I knew it would be a little too much sugar for me! I still had a delicious shake made with just Anniversary Cake ice cream and some Butterfingers. I also tried the Nashville Hot Chicken Fries. They are super filling and make a great meal. Definitely bring your appetite and a friend to share a shake! read more

Always looking for new experiences with my grandkids and this was a great outing for a 6th birthday. If youre looking fir something new and decadent for a treat this is the place. The ice cream is not the cheap ice milk variety, is the good creamy stuff. The selection of toppings offers a great choice to customize your experience. We didn't get the fries, but they looked good as well. The place is small, but there's outside seating available on a nice patio out back so you aren't sitting on a main street enjoying your treats. The parking can be a bit of a trial since it's in downtown Marion, but we lucked out and got a spot right out front. It is a bit pricey, but when you consider the quality and treat it as a special outing venue, I didntnfind it bad. read more

Ever since my friend won a Frydae gift card though a Yelp event, I have not been able to stop talking about Frydae. I've told my squad of friends numerous times that we need to take a drive to Marion because DANG it's worth it. This specialty shop is serving you many versions of my two favorite things-- fries and ice cream. Count me in. We had a Strawberry CheeseShake and Korean BBQ Kimchi Loaded Fries. These selections were out of this world. Both took me to the moon and back with flavor. You know how sometimes you order loaded fries and the toppings are sparse? Not at Frydae. They pack on all the good stuff. Even in a milkshake, the notes of flavor from the blended ingredients are not lost. Can I mention that the milkshake comes with a mini cheesecake? So fancy and good. This place was PACKED on a Friday night. Every table was full and the customers continued to trickle in. I'm not surprised-- it's that good. I'm sure I'll be back to admire their vibey wall decor, quick service, and delectable dishes. 11/10 would recommend! read more

We stopped for ice cream this afternoon, and it was not busy. Ordered our ice cream for 4 people and sat down. As an afterthought after sitting down we went back and ordered fries. We waited too long for our ice cream it came after our fries were done. I thought they were back there working on our order right away but they didn't start on the ice cream order until our fries were served. And they were not busy. Too expensive for the amount of ice cream you get. read more

Absolutely love the jalapeño barbecue fries! Service is usually pretty fast and food is always hot. There's not a ton of seating in the cold months as it's pretty small place but we still love it. atmosphere was small but nicely decorated. the service was fun and young . the food was stiff, they use pre cook items for the food. YUM. I just love when we get a new *local* place that we don't already have a million of around here. Frydae is finally that place! Fries and shakes, what more could we need?! We got the Nashville hot fries and they were delicious. I got the "Glampfire" shake and now I want it everyday. The two perfectly roasted marshmallows on top were such a delightful touch. I can't wait to try ALL the fries and ALL the shakes. Also, the patio...so convenient and cute. The one thing that wasn't ideal: went with a friend and we ordered/pod together all as one order. My shake came out about 5 minutes after hers, which felt a liiiittle too long for me - her only options were to let hers melt while waiting for mine, or eat half of hers by the time I got mine. So that stunk a little but they're new and I'm sure working through all the kinks, so no big deal. read more

Amazing!!!! Coffee and Donuts sundae is amazing!!! If you love coffe this is for you! I'm not a big fan of fruit and ice cream but the Blueberry Cobbler (was on the secret menu!!) is AMAZING! My boss that is the biggest chocolate freak got the Reese's PB Cup Overload and I loved this just as much. Sooooo peanut buttery! I wanted a smaller amount so I just got a medium dish of Carrot Cake ice cream with the streusel topping and I have not had a better dish of ice cream in my life. Go here!!!! Now. read more

Very clean and quiet spot with sort of long wait times (but fries and ice cream worth the bit of a wait). Checked out this ice cream and street fry shop for the first time today and it was great! My husband and I got the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Overload shake. It was sweet and delicious! Perfect for a summer afternoon sweets craving. It will certainly satisfy! We also shared the Korean BBQ Kimchi fries and they were savory and full of spice. The portions are filling and the outdoor patio seating is perfect if you are still wary to be out and about in public. I definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

TGFF- Thank Goodness For Frydaes!!! This place is so delicious! The whole menu looks amazing but we ended up going with the Cookie Jar sundae and Jalapeño Bacon Mac fries. THEY WERE BOTH SO GOOD! Every element was well thought out and extremely flavorful, it all melded beautifully together. The portions are very generous. The one shake and fry was more than enough to satisfy 3 people. This was absolutely worth the trip up from Iowa City, we will be back with more friends!! read more

Came here as a recommendation from a friend and it was delicious!! Definitely a fun spot in downtown Marion. I ordered online and it was ready for 10 minutes for store pickup! They do not have a separate pick up station, but it is super easy to walk in and grab. This ensures your shakes are nice and cold when you come to pickup! Only downfall would be if there was a large line when you came in to get your order, and had to wait. As others mentioned, parking can be tricky so keep that in mind but not too terrible! I got the small cookie jar shake, and it was super creamy and delicious! Even had cookie dough at the bottom I needed a spoon for! The small shakes do not come with the fun toppings, FYI. I got the Nashville Hot Chicken fries and it was the perfect amount of spice and so flavorful. There wasn't much chicken on mine, and the fries were a little crunchy by the time I ate it, but it might've been because I had it as takeout. I liked that you have the option to order additional dipping sauces as well - tons to choose from! read more

Recently visited with my son and we enjoyed our experience, it was what I would expect from a new food business. Since they are a really new business I plan to go back after they've had time to catch their breath and really focus on training their staff more specifically than ringing customers up and making the order. I got the Frozen Hot Cocoa Shake and my son got a couple of scoops of their Cotton Candy Twist and both were tasty. However staff did not greet us, did not ask if we needed help with the menu, and it took the length of time my son spent eating his icecream for me to get my shake. Overall though we had a good experience and would recommend it. I didn't try their street fries but the menu really had me intrigued so definitely stop by and give them your own try! read more

Great ice cream but will need to be prepared to wait five to fifteen minutes for a kids cone.

"TGIF" Thank God It's Frydae! Finally tried this food heaven out - my two favorite foods fries and ice cream! The atmosphere is great, service was fairly quick and efficient, and the menu is outrageously amazing! It was so hard to choose! I went with the Nashville Hot Chicken fries - waffle fries (you choose from string, waffle, or sweet potato) topped with hot chicken, cheese, coleslaw, And pickles - sooo tasty!! You definitely can share these fries as the serving size is huge! I went with the strawberry cheesecake shake... it was so cute I didn't want to eat it! We also go a pb crunch shake which I think was the best - crunchies mixed in with pb ice cream and topped with more crunchies, butter butter, and scotcharoo! I cannot wait to come back !! read more

Everyone is raving about this place on Facebook and the photos look INSANELY cool. My best friend had already tried this place, and she insisted she take me this past Saturday. I can't eat the majority of what's on the menu unfortunately (can't do fries, cheese sauce, or bacon...which eliminates a lot), but I did try the Cake Batter specialty shake. It was good. Solid 4/5. I can say it looked prettier than it tasted...if that makes sense. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here on a regular basis, but the concept is SO cool and it is a nice treat. read more

We went in to try out the fries & sundaes but got amazing customer service as well. After a 30 min wait, I went in to ask about the progress of our order (we waited to ask because they were so busy). They realized that someone with a to-go order took the wrong number order. The sweet girl let us take the order that was close to ours, then brought us out the other original fry we ordered, as well as a gift card to cover another fry next time. We just got shakes with it afterwards so that was a plus! read more

I just had to check this place out. They hadn't been open long and were still working out the kinks but the ice cream was great and the location was fun and well situated in downtown Marion.
