Me and my husband love this place. We come a few times each summer. We enjoy the outside seating and the vibe. Service was great, everyone is always so nice and friendly. Me and hubby decided to share everything. We got the porker Sandwich. It comes with crispy chicken, pulled pork, American cheese and jalapeno peppers. The chicken was nice and crispy. The pork was good but very saucy and sweet. It was good. The take 5 sundae was mind-blowing. The ice cream itself was so creamy. It was packed with goodies. Caramel, hot fudge, peanut butter, pretzels and peanuts together with vanilla ice cream was perfection in a cup. Then of course I had to have my favorite CBR. It is exactly what it stands for only on fries, with melted cheese and the best ranch of your life. I can not stress this enough, their ranch is a must try for Midwest ranch lovers. Thank me later. Wow!! This place ROCKS! Visited here as we passed through the city and we were so glad we did! There's so many options for ice cream, shakes, and fry's!! I wished we hadn't of eaten lunch prior to coming here because the fry's looked amazing. We specifically came for ice cream and found the variety plentiful. This has become my instant go to ice cream spot when I'm in this area. The items we chose proved to be as delicious testing as they were inviting visually. We chose the strawberry shortcake and the s'mores sundaes. The strawberry shortcake sundae comes with a mini strawberry shortcake, cupcake perched on its side. Easy to detach and consume quickly. The s'mores sundae has a dollop of chocolate mousse that was smooth and delicious, two lightly toasted marshmallows and graham cracker at the bottom of the sundae. The ice cream in between was delicious. They have a lot of options to choose from and it was difficult to select just two. The atmosphere was so inviting and festive. After a few visits, I think I'm ready to share my thoughts - I'm underwhelmed. Something here just doesn't quite click for me to make it a great experience. But I'm also overwhelmed. Their menu is limited, yet somehow overkill. Each item has so much going on. The ice cream options fare better than the fries. Portions run small for the price. The layout of the space is the real dealbreaker for me though. Dining in is uncomfortable because the seating options are poor, but also because there's zero space for folks to wait. We stopped for ice cream this afternoon, and it was not busy. Ordered our ice cream for 4 people and sat down. As an afterthought after sitting down we went back and ordered fries. We waited too long for our ice cream it came after our fries were done. I thought they were back there working on our order right away but they didn't start on the ice cream order until our fries were served. And they were not busy. Always looking for new experiences with my grandkids and this was a great outing for a 6th birthday. If youre looking fir something new and decadent for a treat this is the place. The ice cream is not the cheap ice milk variety, is the good creamy stuff. The selection of toppings offers a great choice to customize your experience. We didn't get the fries, but they looked good as well. The place is small, but there's outside seating available on a nice patio out back so you aren't sitting on a main street enjoying your treats. The parking can be a bit of a trial since it's in downtown Marion, but we lucked out and got a spot right out front. Ever since my friend won a Frydae gift card though a Yelp event, I have not been able to stop talking about Frydae. I've told my squad of friends numerous times that we need to take a drive to Marion because DANG it's worth it. This specialty shop is serving you many versions of my two favorite things-- fries and ice cream. Count me in. We had a Strawberry CheeseShake and Korean BBQ Kimchi Loaded Fries. These selections were out of this world. Both took me to the moon and back with flavor. You know how sometimes you order loaded fries and the toppings are sparse? Not at Frydae. They pack on all the good stuff. Even in a milkshake, the notes of flavor from the blended ingredients are not lost. Can I mention that the milkshake comes with a mini cheesecake? So fancy and good. This place was PACKED on a Friday night. Every table was full and the customers continued to trickle in. I'm not surprised-- it's that good. Absolutely love the jalapeño barbecue fries! Service is usually pretty fast and food is always hot. There's not a ton of seating in the cold months as it's pretty small place but we still love it. We got the Nashville hot fries and they were delicious. I got the "Glampfire" shake and now I want it everyday. The two perfectly roasted marshmallows on top were such a delightful touch. I can't wait to try ALL the fries and ALL the shakes. Also, the patio...so convenient and cute. The one thing that wasn't ideal: went with a friend and we ordered/pod together all as one order. My shake came out about 5 minutes after hers, which felt a liiiittle too long for me - her only options were to let hers melt while waiting for mine, or eat half of hers by the time I got mine. Came here as a recommendation from a friend and it was delicious!! Definitely a fun spot in downtown Marion. I ordered online and it was ready for 10 minutes for store pickup! They do not have a separate pick up station, but it is super easy to walk in and grab. This ensures your shakes are nice and cold when you come to pickup! Only downfall would be if there was a large line when you came in to get your order, and had to wait. As others mentioned, parking can be tricky so keep that in mind but not too terrible! I got the small cookie jar shake, and it was super creamy and delicious! Even had cookie dough at the bottom I needed a spoon for! The small shakes do not come with the fun toppings, FYI. I got the Nashville Hot Chicken fries and it was the perfect amount of spice and so flavorful. Recently visited with my son and we enjoyed our experience, it was what I would expect from a new food business. Since they are a really new business I plan to go back after they've had time to catch their breath and really focus on training their staff more specifically than ringing customers up and making the order. I got the Frozen Hot Cocoa Shake and my son got a couple of scoops of their Cotton Candy Twist and both were tasty. However staff did not greet us, did not ask if we needed help with the menu, and it took the length of time my son spent eating his icecream for me to get my shake. I can't eat the majority of what's on the menu unfortunately (can't do fries, cheese sauce, or bacon...which eliminates a lot), but I did try the Cake Batter specialty shake. It was good. Solid 4/5. We went in to try out the fries & sundaes but got amazing customer service as well. After a 30 min wait, I went in to ask about the progress of our order (we waited to ask because they were so busy). They realized that someone with a to-go order took the wrong number order. The sweet girl let us take the order that was close to ours, then brought us out the other original fry we ordered, as well as a gift card to cover another fry next time. I just had to check this place out. They hadn't been open long and were still working out the kinks but the ice cream was great and the location was fun and well situated in downtown Marion. They have a door out the back that opens into a pedestrian friendly alley with seating and activities as part of that area. We ordered the frozen hot cocoa mason jar and the street corn fries as well as a scoop of I think Cotton Candy ice cream my daughter ordered.
