The store front is very cute, and the interior is very cozy. But above all else: the CHOCOLATE! There was a wonderful aroma when you walked in. The owners take great pride in their craft, and it absolutely shows. They are incredibly knowledgeable and competent, yet still find opportunities to further their expertise. We bought so much, as it was hard to choose just a couple items. So far we have loved everything. One fun surprise: the chocolate covered Twizzlers - trust me, they are worth it. I think they would also be awesome covered in dark chocolate too. The chocolate espresso with espresso salt (I think that was the name - please correct me if I'm wrong) was AMAZING, and I think my favorite...if I *had* to pick one favorite. They have also figured out how to ship around the US, which is wonderful, because we live in Texas, and can now get their chocolates delivered to us. I also love how they care about humanity. I love that this business took COVID safety seriously during the height of the pandemic, and chuckled at the art that supported mask wearing and distancing, when it was very necessary. My daughter and I had an extremely disappointing experience at Morning Story in Marion. When we arrived, the woman who appeared to be in charge was extremely short and dismissive. She told us, "Give me a minute," and when she asked if a high top was OK, she would not make eye contact with either my daughter or me. I also witnessed her being rude and dismissive toward several other customers. The food was mediocre at best. My daughter's eggs were plated directly on top of her strawberry whipped cream French toast, which made the dish look completely unappetizing. There was also way too much old, frozen-tasting fruit mixed in with the fresh fruit. The texture was so soft and squishy that it made all of the fruit taste bad. What made the experience worse was that she checked on the tables around us multiple times but never once checked on us or made eye contact with us. The only reason we stayed was because our server, Rae, was kind, respectful, and attentive. Rae checked on us multiple times and was the one bright spot in an otherwise terrible experience. We didn't speak up because, by that point, all I wanted to do was pay for my overpriced meal and leave. With the way the economy is right now, I'm willing to overlook a lot when I spend money going out to eat. What I'm not willing to accept is being treated unkindly or disrespectfully, or allowing my child to be treated that way. That was the most disappointing and disheartening part of this experience.
