I tried Shawnniecakes for the first time yesterday with my wife. I saw that they had toffee cookies. I love toffee cookies. I wanted to get a six pack, but I know myself well enough to know that, if I buy six cookies, I'm going to eat six cookies regardless of whether they are good. After reading that, it probably won't shock you to learn that I have high blood sugar. So, I really can't be buying six cookies that I'm definitely going to eat before I've tried them to know whether they're good. So, I got one toffee cookie and a cheesesteak. The thing about a steak sandwich is that it's really important to get the peppers and onions just right. I don't know how to do it, which makes it tough to explain it, but you have to cook them each the exact right amount so that they each pick up a little bit of the taste from each other, but not so long that they turn into one homogeneous mush. The cheesesteak from Shawnniecakes had perfectly cooked peppers and onions! It also had a very good bun, and a generous portion of steak. My wife got a few things (breakfast scramble, potato salad, baked mac, and molasses cookie), at least one of which was for one of our kids. She said they were all excellent. I believe her favorite item was the molasses cookie, but I know she said everything was very good. I guess I never mentioned how my toffee cookie was. Let's just say that I'll be getting the six pack next time. read more

This is a bakery and cafe, located inside a credit union, with no dedicated seating. There are some chairs in the lobby, and since I had called ahead about a party of three, we were led to a small conference room with very comfortable chairs. We had sandwiches, sides, drinks, and desserts, and everything was fresh and tasted great, especially the baked mac and cheese. The service was very friendly and efficient. Shawnniecakes is a quaint little cafe nestled inside of the Collins Credit Union building. There isn't any seating besides the tables inside the credit union so I recommend you take your food to go. I got the corned beef sandwich with Colby Jack cheese on toasted rye bread. It was a bit of a mess but it was quite tasty. I feel it was just a tad pricey for what I got but I don't know the price of corned beef so I won't complain too much. I also got their very popular butter toffee cookie and boy howdy was that ever so good. The staff were friendly enough but I was there right at closing (oops) so they were a little rushed. All in all I recommend this quaint cafe for your next lunch on your day off. The sandwich's are good and they have tasty homemade cakes & cookies. read more

My friend had Shawnniecakes cater her baby shower. They had Philly cheese steaks, chicken cheese steaks (or is it Philly cheese chicken?), mac & cheese, cupcakes, and toffee cookies. I got a Philly cheese steak, Mac & cheese and a toffee cookie. Everything was delicious. I also frequently stop by their location for raspberry tea and toffee cookies when I need a pick me up. I prefer her raspberry tea over wine after a long day. Her cupcakes are my husband's and mine favorite in town. Not over the top just simply delicious. read more

I finally made my way inside the credit union to stop inside Shawnniecakes. It has a separate entrance, or you can use the bank entrance. Everything is pink and super cute inside! I ordered a breakfast sandwich (bacon egg and provolone on a croissant) and guys. This ain't no fast food sandwich, okay? It was huge! And it was so good! Tons of crispy bacon, and it was perfect! You do have to wait a few minutes because she cooks it fresh for you. I also picked up some bakery treats. I've been through the drive through before for cookies, they're a little expensive but ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT. The molasses ones are my favorite! I hear she also does some catering; I can't wait to try that for the holidays! If you haven't been to Shawnniecakes yet, you're missing out. I was on my way to a morning meeting, resigned to stopping for a pre-packaged frozen breakfast sandwich when I saw Shawniecakes' sign and decided to stop here instead. The place is a small storefront inside a larger building that is a bank and a few other small businesses. Shawneecakes has great breakfast options! I had avacado toast with eggs and it was soooooo good--fresh, made from scratch, and healthy! The eggs were cooked beautifully and seasoned just right. For breakfast they also have wraps, sandwiches, pastries and smoothies--options to eat healthy or be naughty!! The owner Lashawn was so kind and professional, answering all of my questions and even making me a coffee drink that wasn't on the menu. I knew that Shawneecakes cookies and cakes are out-of-this-world delicious, but now that I know they have homemade healthy and comfort food options (BAKED MAC AND CHEESE, friends!) I'm going to be popping in here more often. I should also mention--if you're in a hurry, they have a drive through window as well! This place just got a little more perfect. One of the worst cakes I have ever seen or tasted. Sloppy in appearance and improperly assembled. Flavor as worse than out of a box. It was like she wasn't even trying.
