That's a good sign!! When we got inside we checked out all the delicious pastries they had on display in their case. Everything looked mouth-watering and was hard to choose. We explained to the person helping us that it was our first time there, so we had a few questions on the different goodies. They were very patient and very helpful in making our selections. Not exactly the ending we wanted, but breakfast sounded like a good idea. The service was the best part of the visit. The lady who served us was fast, friendly, and kind, and she was doing a great job. The restaurant was also clean, well managed, and pretty much what you expect from a Perkins. The food itself was fine, but nothing special. The pancakes are still really good, so I will give them that. But the pricing is what really got me. Omelets were $16.79, coffee was $3.89, and even the Magnificent Seven was $10.39. I know prices are up everywhere, but for basic breakfast food, that feels hard to justify. It was not bad food, just very basic food at a price that felt way too high for what it was. At this point, Perkins would probably have to be the only place within walking distance during a long bike ride in the rain for me to go back. Good service, clean restaurant, decent pancakes -- but the value just was not there for me.
