My kiddo has somehow never been to cold stone until last night following a harrowing basketball tournament win, after the checking from the other team we needed some sugar therapy STAT. While our friends went next door to decompress with Quoba burritos we opted for the sugar comfort. I knew my kiddo would find the whole mixing in the goodies process fun. She opted for the marsmello noise track holiday edition and I went the frosted gingerbread route, we both had reeces mixed in and we were happy the whole way home. I was there with my children, youngest 4 yr old and my mother ( in her seventies). we ordered icecream and as soon as I paid the cashier said ," we are closed." There was one table and 2 chairs outside and we were five of us. I asked politely if we could just finish the icecream inside the store, but they didn't let us. I went to this Coldstone in Branson down by the Landing last night 3/5/2023 with my family around 8pm. There only seemed to be one employee working there at that time. As soon as we walked in we weren't greeted by the employee, no "welcome to Coldstone's" which we had become accustomed to. The facial expression (he seemed annoyed) the body language (storming around aggressively) of the employee made it seem like he was very put off that we had walked in. We were the only customers in the store and it remained that way during our whole visit. Before we had a chance to walk up to the counter to look at the ice cream choices he was insistent on us telling him what we wanted. At this point, he still hadn't given a smile or any other friendly gesture. Again, not what we were used to when coming here. We let him know the first item we wanted so he started making the order and as he was making the order he continued to be insistent on us telling him the rest of our order. I wasn't sure what the purpose of having us tell him our whole order at one time because there were four of us and it was going to be a lot to remember. At his request we told him our order as he made the first item and when he started on the second item he had to ask us what we had wanted with that order because he had forgotten. This process continued with the next two items. It was quite frustrating because we had felt rushed giving him our order in the first place. The story doesn't end here though, let's talk about the order itself. When we order the "gotta have it" size we are used to the cup being filled up past the upper rim of the cup and sometimes even overflowing. Not this time, the portions in each cup seemed to be the amount given with a "love it" size cup. In all four items the ice cream barely reached the top of the cup and definitely did not fill the cup. When I spend over $7 on an ice cream I expect it to at least be filled all the way to the top. As I watched him hastily make the orders I noticed he was very inconsistent with the toppings, one item had too much toppings and the other three had hardly any toppings. My son had wanted marshmallows as one of his toppings but the employee informed us that there were no more marshmallows so that wasn't an option. Not sure of the circumstances on why they were out of them but that was just another instance of why this visit was so frustrating. The story continues to the register where he totaled our order and we paid. As our visit came to an end, there was no "thank you or thanks for coming" from the employee, he just walked away. We were dumbfounded. We left very disappointed with our experience. The prices are way too high and there are too many other ice cream options in the Branson area for customers to be treated like that. We definitely will not be coming to this store again. read more
