I love the fruit prickly pear so when I hear someone has PRICKLY PEAR ICE CREAM i'm going to try it. It was sooo goooood!!! My husband got a brownie one and it was also delicious. They let us have samples which was very kind. I also tried a mango which was delicious! The whole street is filled with cool stores and the shop is at the end of the street or the beginning. Maybe... a made-from-scratch bourbon caramel mixed into a dark stout ice cream? Orrrrr - a berried lemonade sorbet made black by activated charcoal??? Then you haven't lived!! (J/k... but seriously... you should try it!!) This is Pure Joy's 2nd location. They're still working on the inside as of Oct 2025, so more updates to be enjoyed! But the ICE CREAM?? That's here to stay! And if you'd like to hear a very fun story, ask how they source their vanilla pods from a farm in Mexico, and NOT from a woman named Esperanza!!! lol - seriously. Just ask the owner. He's fabulous - even when we rolled in with a party of seven at 9:55pm, 5 minutes before closing!

The ice cream was good and for that they get 4.5 stars but the price to portion was horrible. They have three scams: "half scoop" one scoop, and two scoops. We got a half scoop and a single scoop. The amounts were around the same though, about a half scoop. $6.50 for the "single scoop" and $4.50 for the half scoop. For the photos the half scoop is the cup but it's had a few bites out of it. And the single scoop is the cone, untouched. It had none in the base just a bit on top. Support local businesses except when they charge too much... My advice is go to a Braums and get way more ice cream for way less.
