Placed an order online thru Coldstone website, it never made it to me, called the store and the gentleman assuming the manger or owner if it's a franchise spoke in bad English, didn't understand English to well as I explained several times I placed an order via coldstone website he said we don't do that call DoorDash nothing I can do, then proceeded to tell me I never placed an order as well but magically I was charged over $21. DoorDash had nothing to do with it, Grubhub is just the delivery party and they said since I placed it thru coldstone there's nothing they can do. read more

I have frequented this cold stone and have never had bad service. As some reviews mention the line may be long and they may be short staffed at times but their service is always up to par. I've created several custom cakes with them and they always turn out delicious and appealing. The only note I have is that cold stone doesn't offer a full ice cream cake. For an ice cream store I would want to see a cake-less version. But if you enjoy a cake with ice cream and topping sandwiched in this is the place for custom flavors! read more

This is the worst establishment I have came across. I called ahead and asked if they were able to make milkshakes. You don't think it would be much of a task since it's just ice cream and milk. The man on the phone definitely confirmed they were able to do shakes and smoothies. But as I go in with my fiance for a nice refreshing milkshake on this warm day. They tell me they are not able to make them. Was craving ice cream so I stopped by this location pretty close to where I live. It was pretty busy but I was impressed with how fast the line went and how friendly the service was. I decided on a small french vanilla with banana and roasted almonds mixed and it definitely did not disappoint. The ice cream was so creamy and flavorwise the banana and almond really balanced well with the vanilla. I've never gotten cakes from cold stone (judging by other reviews I probably shouldn't) so I can't speak for that experience but I really enjoyed my ice cream and service. Is it the best ice cream ever? No, but it will certainly more than hits the spot. read more

Great googly moogly, my experience at the Cold Stone Creamery on Washtenaw yesterday was one that I will tell my children, grandchildren, and pets about for decades to come. I'm just not a fan of how dirty this place is. When I walked in the female employee was sweeping the floors. She greeted me and told her to give her a second. So I watched her finish her sweeping for a while. Then when she was done she washed her hands for about 5 seconds. As soon as I realize she was done washing her hands I was just grossed out. I mean I don't even know if she got any germs off at all, just put soap on and rinsed it off, and it's much worse because she was actually sweeping. Then she didn't bother to wipe her hands. So when she was handed me the tasting spoons she was dripping all over my hands, which also grossed me out. It was so bad she commented on it, "sorry I'm dripping on ya." She was really patient with all the taste testers I wanted. I had an idea of the combo I wanted just didn't know exactly which chocolates I wanted. She did great with that. But then I was reminded how dirty the place is. When she was finished and handed me my ice cream, which was one scoop cheesecake and one scoop chocolate cake batter, there was a very solid Blue Streak through my cheesecake ice cream. I asked her what the blue stuff was and she said, "oh there was just some stuff left on the slab." You are in the food service industry, first off why are you excusing cross-contamination like that, second, your offer of "I can scrape it off for you," is not a solution. No, I want this remade, because I don't know what crap is mixed into it.... Well, I only got the cheesecake remade, as she used a plastic spoon to just remove that part from my waffle bowl, then redid the cheesecake. For all I know, the blue stuff was also mixed into my chocolate, I just couldn't see it. The ice cream tasted good, yes, but nearly all Coldstones do... All the toppings ( from yellow cake to candy to graham cracker crust) to the flavors (probably like 20-25 flavors, all of which you can sample and are not your average flavors, this place is far remove from a Baskin Robbins). In terms of product, this Cold Stone Creamery is like all of the other Cold Stone franchise outlets. I will say that our servers tonight did a great job keeping up with the steady flow of customers. Three things, however, make this location unpleasant to visit. 1. Parking. This store is located in what is essentially a cul de sac in a strip mall. Parking and maneuvering to get to the store make you wonder who thought this layout was a good idea. 2. The inside of the store is so narrow that I feel like I'm violating the personal space of other customers to reach the back of the line. "Excuse me. Pardon me. Sorry. Beg pardon. Sorry." I had more room on my last flight to Dallas. It isn't comfortable to order and certainly not comfortable to stay and enjoy my purchase. 3. There's a ceiling fan that creates weird shadows as the fan blades pass in front of the recessed lighting. I'm glad I'm not prone to seizures. Upshot: you'll enjoy the service and the product, but plan not to park near the store, and plan to tolerate the layout inside, knowing that you'll feel better if you enjoy your Mudslide Mojo outside. read more

Sadly the customer service isn't what it used to be...gone are the singing of the ice cream songs and along with it apparently gone also are the smiles and manners of the employees. I only go now if I have a good coupon. They seem to smash the ice cream into the cups...it gets all over the sides and bottom...they don't wipe it off so it is a fat mess when I get home. Unsure as to why the customer service is so poor; perhaps it is just a lack of training but, maybe they just need to hire some different people. Also, last time I went the ice cream was partially melting in the display freezers and when I got it home it had ice chunks throughout. Looks like this place is going downhill. Gah, I hate this place!!! I wish it wasn't so close to my house. The service here is terrible and like the previous reviewer mentioned, the employees are rude, obnoxious, and slow as hell. There's always a line clear out the door, too. It's hard to get excited about waiting 20 minutes to spend 5 bucks on a small ice cream. Occasionally I cave in, but my experience is always the same. I've ordered several ice cream cakes here (my coworkers insist on Coldstone for staff birthdays) with mixed results. I first tried Cold Stone Creamery in Seattle and I've heard continuous good things about it. I had their Cake N Shake there with rainbow sprinkles and it was divine. I've never had better ice cream in my whole life. The staff was very helpful and kind considering her picky customers and it was just her working by herself. When I returned home in Michigan and heard there was one nearby, I went and the staff was rude and didn't care she even had a customer. Not once did she ask if I wanted anything after standing there for a good while. She didn't add in the rainbow sprinkles like I asked and the ice cream itself didn't taste nearly as good as it did in Seattle. It was also very poorly mixed/blended. After returning to my car, it was evident when the employee walked out behind me it was the end of her shift and she didn't seem to care to serve one more customer who wanted a simple shake. The ice cream is a bit artificial-tasting, though it has a good slightly sticky mouth feel and is kept very very soft -- half melted. For me, this is a good thing -- I like it soft. I haven't tried it with the mix-ins, which means the main attraction here doesn't do anything for me. I like it plain. Cold Stone has THE best ice cream versus any other ice cream! I attend college right down the street, so it is real convenient for me. I wish they would reopen their once-existing store in Brighton. Anyway, my favorite flavor is the cake batter ice cream; it is addictive! Second would probably be their cake batter ganache. Their French vanilla is also real good.
