Today I stopped in to have my favorite ice cream-coffee lovers. 2 different types of workers present. 1. Asian lady, she was friendly and helpful but gives you just enough ice cream to the rim of the cup. No mound or scoop above. 2. The other young lady gave you a mound of ice cream above the rim and in waffle cup. Her presentation and friendliness was not present, not sure she enjoys her job. The back counters were covered with cut cakes and boxes of cakes pre-cut, pretty messy. I'll be back because I like your ice cream. read more

Pretty solid establishment. They were well staffed to handle crowds. They hand out masks to customers Bc they require masks in their stores. Coldstone is my favorite ice cream shop and I go just about EVERY Sunday. The Richmond Highway shop is my favorite location because they make my Chocolate Devotion just right. Kuahe (so sorry if I misspelled your name) normally makes my order because she sees me every Sunday and knows what I like. She's so friendly and very welcoming. I'm not sure if she's the assistant manager but she has like a leader/manager presence about her. The shop is clean, staff is friendly, the line moves at a decent pace if it's busy. It's located in a shopping center so it's plenty of parking. Coldstone is my special treat to end the weekend and I highly recommend this location if you're in the area. read more

The service here is excellent. I was greeted instantly. There many options for ice cream and other items such as smoothies. I ordered from them recently on Grubhub. I got the milk and oreo cookies shake ($8.11) and a chocolate devotion ($7.43). The sales tax was $0.93, the delivery fee was $3.99, the service fee was $0.82, and the tip for the driver was $5.00. I don't like paying the Grubhub fees, but I don't mind paying a tip for the driver. The shake was excellent and the chocolate devotion was very good. I live on Franconia about a mile west of Telegraph; the items showed up in about 45 minutes or so. No complaints. read more

Cold stone...I remember why I never go here. The store was not crowded but the employee was very new and didn't know how to make the orders or ring up items making the visit take longer than normal. I understand everything one starts out new but he needed more training I did think the product was ok but nothing special. The mix in items don't excite me and the ice cream is average at best. It's a convenient place to go as there are not many ice cream locations in the local area. Stopped by at 1417hrs on 30Apr2023 and a young lady wearing a hijab was cutting cakes for a bit with her back turned to me. Eventually turned around and seemed annoyed to have to help someone. Likely having a bad day but it was obviously flippant, I would patron for ice cream elsewhere if it wasn't so inconvenient to do so location wise. read more

The worst location in the DMV area. Either the owner and management are ridiculously cheap or the employees very poorly trained. I'm going with a little of both. Very poor customer service and very poor value. The employees don't mix the ice cream well for the signatures and don't give out the appropriate sizes. I recommend the crystal city location followed by the Hoffman location. I ordered a gotta have it golden Oreo signature mix with waffle bowl on the side and a gotta have it chocolate ice cream with butter finger, coconut, and toasted almonds. For a Gotta Have It size mix they gave me half a butterfinger to mix in, disappointing. For my golden Oreo, I asked for extra strawberries and she literally gave me 1 extra strawberry and charged me .79 for the extra mix in. NEVER AGAIN spending money at this location. read more

In and out, no problems no issues. This Coldstone was like all the others I've visited. So much has changed with Hybla Valley that all the old mall shops have long gone. The new layout of the mall itself is different. Rt.1 has been built up so much in the last 20 years. But, I digress. The ice cream is as always smooth, creamy delightful. And, again I point out, Coldstone is one of the only major chains, where you can get pure MINT ice cream. Not Mint chocolate chip, just MINT. I love that. read more

The three "staffers" on October 7 at 7:30 pm were horrible. They were yapping among themselves while patrons were waiting for them to take their order. Another Patron came in to pay pay for the pre made ice cream cupcakes and they just continued to tap among themselves. I had to yell over the counter to tell them they had a customer waiting. I was disgusted with the service I received today. I came in at about 8:30pm stood in line like everyone else waiting my turn but was ignored like I wasn't there. There were 2 team members and 1 manager. I was next in line but one of the team members looked passed me and took the customer behind me. When I asked to speak to the manager, the manager told me she must've assumed I was with the person in front of me. They shouldn't just assume. The proper way to attend to a customer is to ask have you been helped or ask who's next in line. I honestly felt as if it was a race thing because of her alleged assumption. I will not be back. Recently visited this location after dinner looking to cure my sweet tooth. Actually, I had suggested we go to Krispy Kreme (the hot light was on!! OMG) but I got talked out of it in exchange for some sweet, creamy goodness. Boy do I wish I went to KK! I ordered a special, Brownie A La Something... Don't remember the name. It looked SO good on the menu and I couldn't WAIT to tear into it once I got home. Boo thang played it safe and got regular ice cream with chocolate shavings folded in. Anywho... I get my ice cream, use my gift cards, and go on home. I don't get a chance to actually eat my ice cream until about 10p, I got to CS about 10 minutes before closing (maybe 8:45ish?). I go to eat my ice cream and I can't even cut thru the brownie with my spoon because it is ROCK hard! I mean seriously, ROCK HARD. I didn't actually watch him make it so I thought maybe he put a cookie under my ice cream instead of the brownie its was so hard... And it must've been blazing hot because my ice cream was a soupy mess even after I put it in the freezer for a good 30 minutes before I got a chance to eat it. I haven't had Cold Stone in almost 2 years, so I was really looking forward to this. And I'm super bummed because I've been sitting on these gift cards since Christmas and finally got a chance to use them, only to be disappointed. I plan to call tomorrow morning to see if they plan to rectify the situation. Will keep my fellow Yelpers updated! The conundrum for me is that while it's nice, it's more expensive than the Sweet Frog just down the road. Now, it's creamy, and ice cream instead of yogurt, so if you like one over the other- you'll like it. I've been to many other Coldstone franchises that were more customer friendly, fun and not as dark as this one. Example: the speakers here are blown out, and sound like you're listening through a badly blown out headphone that's mounted to the ceiling. I mentioned this to the staff over 8 months ago and it was the same tonight. So as not to heap coals upon them, I like the sweet cream flavor ice cream. I'm done with this location. The service here is poor. Today I ordered a birthday cake remix, as usual...the Like It size. I was helped by a young man by the name of Nate. He put the ice cream on the slate and put a tiny bit of chocolate syrup on there, I asked if he would put on a little more chocolate syrup (since usually they add more than that), he says it will be .79 cents extra. I'm staring at him because surely he's pulling my leg. He proceeds to put another squirt of chocolate syrup on, Barely mixes everything, then throws it in a cup and leaves a portion of the ice cream on the slate, which he scrapes off and discards...and proceeds to charge me an extra 79 cents. The lady asked if we were ready to order and we said yes. then a guest walked in wanted to know about cakes. she proceeded to ask the guest questions and complete her cake order. which took 15 mins. during these 15 min one of the other employees was taking care of online orders. however the other employee was "making waffle cones" as she told us. there was nothing out. nothing mixing or baking or anything. after the lady helping the cake order was finished she made the waffle cone lady come help us. The guy with the dreads answered the phone in the middle of serving another customer and instead of taking the call later. He didn't help us instead walked to the back to finish the call. Cold Stone offers delivery. During the COVID quarantine that's great when you have little ones who have birthdays. In fact, Cold Stone's website is great. It directs you to the nearest store that will fulfill your delivery. However when you select this location they say the deliver it to your car. That is called "curbside pickup", Not "delivery." It's absolutely false advertising and it's designed to pull in internet traffic from the other franchise locations. Despicable! read more

This location has really improved. I was told that it was under new management and went to give them a try. The employees were pleasant and the store looked cleaned. I got the birthday cake remix with a waffle bowl. The bowl was crisp and crunchy. The brownie was a little small, but good none the less. Glad to see how this location has improved. Nice location for Cold Stone since it's located by other stores in the shopping center. Overall many ice cream flavors and combinations to choose from including smoothies if you so desire. My husband and I stopped in after our anniversary dinner in April. We both decided that was our preferred desert for the celebration. Unfortunately, extremely rude, uncourteous attitude of the young employees definitely spoiled it. We stood in line for 10 minutes. We were never greeted. I went to sit down after standing there and my husband stayed in line for us. We discovered we were standing in the wrong side of the line - only discovered that after asking fellow patrons. Ok. Maybe one of the two people working behind the counter could have acknowledged us or informed us. But whatever. We haven't been to a Coldstone since living in Colorado & did not realize the counter was set up differently. Anyway. Instead of getting my mint chocolate chip waffle cone, I received the apparent signature called mint mint chocolate chocolate chip? I inquired why there was chocolate syrup & stuff in it and the girl just looked at me rudely and stated that was the signature. I did not want the signature, never asked for it and would like, simply, mint chocolate chip in a waffle cone. She literally snatched the cone from my hand and proceeded to make me a new one....this time, though, the ice cream was the smallest size, like 2 inches below the top of the cone, but I was still charged the 'love it' size. I came here the other day and ordered a peanut butter cup perfection and substituted the chocolate ice cream for cake batter ice cream. I remember the staff was very pleasant and worked well and supportive of each other. Though my visit was a few days ago I found it monumental to publicly share the courteous service I received from Marcus, he definitely cares about giving every customer who visits a pleasant experience and during my visit, I witnessed him treat everyone with the same polite and welcoming mannerism.
