Maybe it was the dish that I got, but I just was not wowed by my meal here. I've had way better…read moreMalaysian food as I have easier access to authentic Malaysian food here in NYC and this just didn't compare. I got the sayur sayuran (mixed vegetables) dish and was kind of disappointed to learn that rice wasn't included with the mains. When the food came, they placed the dish on this little grill on the table. A nice touch, but I thought it was kind of unnecessary. The dish itself was okay tasting but very bland. Service was prompt but the prices are rather high. I will say, though, that since I am a vegetarian, I didn't get to try any of their meat dishes. Maybe that's where they shine instead?

Meh to Ice Bandung - this is a cordial-like drink with rose syrup and condensed milk but I hardly tasted the former. That qualified them for 3 stars. An additional star: Staff were very attentive and gracious when my stray arm hit the glass of water which went flying across the table, and immediately replaced it as well. Will come back here again - hopefully the restaurant sees this review and change the recipes to the dishes to make them more authentic.

Because of all this, I was quite dubious about eating in Kebab K-lub on the way home from a gig one evening, reminiscent as the restaurant was of the benighted Abrakebabra. I must admit that I was quite pleasantly surprised. Kebab K-lub is by no means the best purveyor of its eponymous food stuff in Dublin, but it isn't half bad, nonetheless. You wouldn't be going too far wrong to order a lamb schwarma from there. And it is certainly my preferred fast food eatery in Fairview (wouldn't be too far gone on Hillbilly's me. One thing that Kebab K-lub has that a lot of kebab places don't is plenty of seating, which is a plus. I'm not sure if Kebab K-lub is open as late as Hillbilly's, as you often hear people talking bout heading to Hillbilly's after Barcode but seldom if ever Kebab K-lub, but it is definitely open til one or two at night. So if you're just heading home from the pub of an evening, or maybe you just need some ballast before you hit the session after a match in Croker, Kebab K-lub hits the spot.

Hello, my name is Alison and I am a newly converted Asian Food Co. shopper. After buying a week's worth of groceries for a grand total of €13, my loyalty is firmly swayed away from the big boys. Also, this is the only Asian grocery in the area that doesn't smell funny. For your benefit, I will list a few items below that I have since purchased at Asian Food Co. which were ridiculously less-expensive than anywhere else: giant cans of garbanzo beans (chickpeas) 18 fresh eggs for €2 falafel selection of 5 baklava for €1.50 tahini garlic coriander naan easy heat vegetarian Indian meals 2-for-1 €1.50 curry coconut milk corriander mangos onions habanero peppers butternut squash 1/4 cut of a pumpkin japaense eggplant (long, skinny aubergines) and the grand finale product unseen in Ireland... ...perfectly ripe avocados.

I must admit that the stand outside is what propelled me to check out the inside. Inside you'll find a variety of exotic packaged goods from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Malaysian. There are sacks of rice and flour from which you can take as much or as little as you need. This is the place to go if you're Muslim and in need of Halal meat. The butcher in the back of the shop prepares the meat according to strict Muslim dietary laws. In fact Asian Food Co. is more than just a grocer. It serves the Islamic community, putting people of the same faith in contact with one another. The shop sells religious books, prayer beads and DVDs. It also gives other Muslims access to a prayer room.
