Need new top quality shaker kitchen cabinets for pickup ASAP?…read more We had a house flood and after days of ridiculous quotes from competitors and cabinet makers we were referred to Pius by other cabinet companies. We bought unbuilt cabinets and had a contractor family/friends do the install. they look awesome. Sophie at Pius actually drew out the cabinet plans and they came out amazing. My only negative (which doesn't effect their rating for me) is that the pick up process from their warehouse is annoying - they have one worker processing the pickups who was very unprofessional. nonetheless, can't wait to use them again.

We hired Doru and his team at Eagle Remodel and Construction for a complete, down-to-the-studs…read moreremodel of our master bathroom, and we couldn't be happier with the result. This was my first time hiring a contractor. I had previously acted as the general contractor for our other two bathrooms, and my husband and I did those remodels ourselves, so I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted--and also plenty of lessons to learn along the way! One of the biggest advantages of working with Doru was his pricing. His quote was extremely competitive compared with other contractors in the area, some of whom quoted us 2-3 times more. We did have to manage purchasing our own cabinets, tub, tile, lighting, fixtures, etc., but that gave us the flexibility to shop at our preferred stores and save money. **A couple of lessons I learned:** Make sure you have all of your materials onsite before construction starts. There were a few times we were waiting for items I had ordered, which slowed things down. Had I used some of Doru's preferred suppliers, that probably wouldn't have happened. Also, if possible, I recommend having someone home during construction. I couldn't be home because of work, but my husband was, and that worked out well. Doru was consistently on time--sometimes even early--which is rare in the construction industry. He's also incredibly versatile and was able to handle a variety of jobs himself, including light electrical work such as changing light types and wiring and installing/replacing electrical outlets. The only time he brought in an electrician was for our heated floors because they required additional breakers in our electrical panel. And by the way, **I highly recommend heated bathroom floors!** They aren't hot; they're just comfortably warm/room temperature, which means no more freezing feet first thing in the morning. The project started with demolition, which Doru completed in just **one day**. From there, he handled the framing and coordinated his regular team of skilled subcontractors. One thing I appreciated about Doru is that he genuinely wants you to be happy with the final product. He doesn't try to push his own design preferences on you. When I asked for his opinion, he would explain the pros and cons of different options, but ultimately left the decision to me. I changed my mind a couple of times during the project--including the ceiling lighting and tub surround--and even though those changes created additional work, he made the requested changes without charging us extra. His team was excellent as well. Emmanuel, his tile professional, did an incredible job and really made the bathroom come together. He also installed our cabinets and crown molding, and his attention to detail was impressive. The drywall professional was extremely fast and efficient using Quick Set 5. We did need a second trip because of some ceiling corrections, but overall the work moved along quickly. Our project took about six weeks from start to finish, although some of that time was due to delays with materials I had selected and our family vacations. Realistically, I think the actual construction could have been completed in around four weeks if everything had been onsite and we hadn't had scheduling interruptions. What really stood out to me was Doru's follow-through. He has checked in with us multiple times since the project was completed to make sure we're still happy with everything. We are! I actually made one poor choice myself when selecting our tub faucet--it takes about 20 minutes to fill our large tub. Doru even offered to come back and replace it once I find a better faucet, which says a lot about the kind of contractor he is. **If you're looking for a highly skilled, dependable contractor at a competitive price, I would absolutely recommend Eagle Remodel and Construction.** I think they're an especially great choice if you're comfortable purchasing your own tile, cabinets, fixtures, lighting, tub, etc. and want more control over your budget and selections. If you're looking for a completely hands-off experience where you walk into a showroom, select everything through the contractor, and have them handle every purchase, a larger remodeling company may be a better fit--but you'll likely pay significantly more for that convenience. For us, Eagle Remodel and Construction was absolutely the right choice. We love our new bathroom and would hire Doru again without hesitation!

The team worked efficiently, skillfully, and ahead of schedule! It seems like Eagle Construction can build anything you ask them to. Doru is someone I can trust. He stayed in close communication throughout the entire process, always taking the time to answer our questions. As someone who pays close attention to detail, I especially appreciated his precision and craftsmanship. I am so glad we went with him, and his pricing was fair. What stood out most was his honesty and thorough approach. We had reached out to several contractors for quotes, but Doru was the only one who took the time to measure our space accurately and fully understand what we wanted. He never pressured us into additional work and instead offered thoughtful guidance and expert recommendations. Despite working quickly, the final result was of quality and what we envisioned. I would absolutely hire Eagle Remodel again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, detail-oriented work, and people you can trust.

Ken really worked hard to find a good solution at a reasonable cost, and in fact he was able to unblock the project really quickly by proposing a hidden beam that would maintain the aesthetics of the original plan. Ken also took on several smaller projects for us which it would have been hard to get a contractor for alone, but he was able to slot them in around the main project in a way that made sense for all of us. It's a family operated business which is nice. All our communications were with Ken or Jennifer directly -- no corporate office giving you the run-around like you might find with some larger contracting organizations.

For those of us not in the construction business ourselves, finding a good, reliable contractor…read morewith integrity can feel a bit daunting. I'm not in a trade, but my dad was so I grew up around it. You wonder if they're going to do a solid job, if they are going to find 'more' issues to tack on to the bill and finally what they are going to charge and if it's competitive and reasonable. Anyone who's gotten multiple bids will quickly learn that bids from different contractors can come back wildly different and it's hard to gauge why unless you are in the business or know and trust the contractor (or whoever recommended them). Rest assured and from my experience, HBC General Contractors are top notch all around. It's my understanding they recently went through an ownership change in the Spring/summer of 2017, and see some of the reviews here are a bit older, so if anyone is concerned about that, don't be. The new crew - Ken and company are fantastic. We had an issue with dry-rot below our back sliding door. We had just purchased the house months earlier, so didn't know how long the issue had been there or how severe the rot was. We also had an ant issue, and know now that it was due to the rot issue, so it was really important to me that we got this taken care of prior to rainy season again. We had a couple contractors come out for bids. What set HBC apart for me was how on top of it they were on communicating, genuinely felt honesty about pricing and breaking down how they arrived at it (including instructing me to buy the door myself so I'd save money), and the degree of care they took in doing the job itself. I know there was no corners cut, because I worked from home the day they came over, and Ken called me over a few times to show me the progress and how/what they were doing to prevent it from happening in the future. They took out the old door, dug out and fixed all dry rotted areas (which went deeper, I saw, than expected), hung new fancier sliding door and sealed it up so good (this to me was above/beyond) I feel very confident I'll never have the same issue at that spot again. My job was relatively small compared to other very large projects that they do (they showed me pics), but I was never made to feel like I was less important or a 'side' thing for them. I'm so glad I found these guys and will continue to use them and recommend them to everyone I know. -Woodinville, WA
