first of all...angela yee...and second of all...lives up to the hype. I am a coffee spot snob, and this places lives up to my snobbery. It's warm, cozy, friendly, unpretentious, aesthically pleasing and of course, the tea I had and complimentary mocktail concoctions were delightful. and the bagel was great. And Christina made my work day here pleasant. attentive and sweet. give her. raise! :)

Turkey and cheese croissant with Cafe au lait
    LaToya K.

Cute local coffee shop. It's very quiet so more of a place to read or work than to meet up and converse with someone. I ordered a cafe au lait (which was good) and a turkey and cheese on a croissant. The cheese wasn't melted and the sandwich was cold which I didn't expect. If I go back, I'd likely have a beverage but I wouldn't get anything to eat.

Iced cookie butter latte, everything bagel and cream cheese filled croissant.

This is my 3rd time coming here and as they say, 3rd times a charm. All 3 times I've come and it has been a pleasant experience and coffee and food has been great. On my second visit, I was able to order their Pattie's. Had one of each and both were very good, the curry split pea was my favorite, the vegetable medley was a little too peppery for my taste. I've gotten an iced cookie butter latte each time, this time I paired it with their everything croissant filled with cream cheese. YUM, definitely a fave now. It was fresh and deliciously fluffy, with the right amount of cream cheese. Definitely one of my new favorite spots, let me not forget, the service is always great. Very attentive and pleasant staff with warm smiles.

    Cold Brew w/ Oat Milk

Came by to get some work done. There were plenty of tables to do some work. They also have an ample amount of outlets in the space. Bathroom is also super clean. Wifi works well. Prices are pretty good for New York standards. I got the cold brew with oat milk. They don't charge for milk alternatives which is always a plus. I couldn't taste the subtle notes of the coffee, but it was pretty smooth. Coffee was okay, staff are great, and a good place to do work.

    Hummus and Avocado sandwich

The staff are super nice and the sandwich I ordered was fresh and delicious. They play nice music in the background and it isn't too loud so you can still hear yourself and friends if you are talking to other people. Great spot if you need a cup of coffee or tea or want a quick snack in between work.

Delicious avocado toast! Extremely large portion.

Excellent customer service matched by excellent products! The food selection was an ample array of nutritious delights. I had read some reviews on the avocado toast, and was going to up for something else until I ask the lady at the counter for her suggestion. She highly suggested the CUP Avo toast, and it did not disappoint! As an avocado connoisseur, I had made my own version of avocado toast on several occasions. Mixing up with various toppings from turmeric to seafood, and still wasn't ready for the delights that would soon enter my belly! The CUP Avo toast included spinach, hemp seeds, flax seeds, feta cheese, truffle honey and chili flakes. The flavors were a marriage of goodness and the truffle honey addition cannot be justified by words. The service received was stellar from entry to exit! Laura was a tentative and checked for items that I may have given me an allergic reaction. Tony, the Co-owner, was extremely helpful with my coffee to go selection. He packaged the ESPresso whole beans which I will soon be enjoying! CUP - Coffee Uplifts People is co-owned by radio personality Angela Yee. Her positive energy is matched by Tony and Laura. They truly make CUP a welcoming and a great space for remote work. I did not feel rushed and had breakfast and lunch while working. Tables and high boys were dispersed throughout and welcomed workers, meeting space, families and many appeared to be regulars. Love my experience and so did my co-worker, who placed a to go order. Before I left I placed a to go order for the curry squash and seasonal greens Jamaican patties, which were also delicious. Patties paired well with the Maasai tea mixed well with CUPs Bed-stuy lemonade. We will both be back to experience new additions that would be in place soon!

Happy to have this in the neighborhood. Black owned coffee shop with Ethiopian coffee beans. They also have a marketplace where all the items are from Black and Brown companies. If you listen to Power 105.1 then you're familiar with Angela Yee. She is one of the owners. I went to CUP on Saturday and was happy to see that they finally opened. The decor is lovely and the space is inviting. They have a ton of options. The food menu is vegetarian friendly and they also offer gluten free options. I would like to try the beyond meat patty next. For my first visit I tried the latte and the yee Rum Cake with Wray and Nephew Glaze. My visit was complete with the CUP experience. The Rum Cake was delish!

Such a lovely & bright café that's perfect to get some work done or people watch. I came on a Sunday afternoon and the place was basically full. They have outlets throughout and free wifi so most people were staying for a while. All of the staff here were super friendly and service was fast. I got an iced tea/lemonade which I can't remember the name of and a lemon pound cake. Both were delicious and refreshing. Can't wait to come back!

    Roasted hummus sandwich

I thought this coffee shop was delicious. I ordered the flat white and a hot chocolate for my 4 year old daughter. The barristas were thoughtful in making my daughters hot chocolate the perfect temperature for her to enjoy immediately. Ordered the roasted hummus sandwich (my 4YO thought it was too spicy) but we loved it! Would definitely come back here.

Iced matcha, iced latte with gingerbread flavoring and Belgian waffle.
    Amanda T.

We got a iced matcha and iced latte with gingerbread flavoring. We were very impressed with the flavor variety and had a hard time choosing! The employees were extremely friendly and helpful, making sure we got exactly what we needed. The Belgian waffle was one of the best ever- soft and chewy in the middle and crunchy on the outside! Definitely glad we came here for our tour de Brooklyn

But just remember to be courteous, that this is a business so it's okay to do work here but if you're gonna be chilling for a while make sure you're getting some drinks every hour or tipping the 'tender. Also careful with some of the hot drinks they can be really.... hot. I burnt the roof of my tongue on my hot cider drink.

You think they are going to just hand you your dreams? I don't want a treat. I didn't earn a treat. A black coffee is like running on an empty stomach. It puts you in a different mindset. Survival mode. On the hunt. I gotta earn the food. Imagine what they would say about me if they saw me drinking a dirty chai latte in the morning. Imagine what I would say about myself. All this to say I tend to stay far away from hyped up coffee shops but my big bro wanted to hit Rhythm Zero, and he is big bro for a reason, so I obliged. Went with a friend and we both immediately felt a bad energy. The person taking our order was just a little stand off ish. We just wanted to get our drinks and get out as quick as possible. We got the blackberry matcha and a latte. You're not going for the matcha, because the matcha flavor isn't really there ~ the blackberry was fine, super sweet though. Had 3 espresso shots in the latte yet it was still somehow so watered down and had an odd aftertaste. Big yikes overall, we could've dealt with the weird pretentious vibes if the coffee was actually good. Only upside is TakuSando is a block away. EDIT: For Bri Can totally understand if people have off days, maybe the baristas were having a bad day, it happens. Either way, the review reflects what we experienced. We had heard great things but unfortunately felt unwelcome from the moment we ordered, whether intentional or not ~ the energy felt cold to us and that changed the experience. & we just didn't love the drinks. Hope yall continue to do your best and serve the fan base you have :) Love small businesses, don't love a weird Yelp guilt trip (which seems like a pattern for you across all 3 locations...)

The owner is Mauritanian, and the couscous reminded me of the ones I've eaten in the northern reaches of Senegal, with tender potatoes, carrots, and cabbage. I had been hoping for something closer to kosksi, but the dish was enjoyable nonetheless. We sat outside in the casually-laid out backyard while hearing songs blending French and Maghrebian Arabic emanating from inside.
