In addition to this old-timey frozen custard stand, there was a nearby Civil War park and confederate cemetery, a church next to a cornfield, and I passed an old junker of a car nearby with a sign saying that it had no airbags so the inhabitants could "die like men". If you're coming from DC as I am, this is a different world. And in that vein, I'm always a little mixed on frozen custard as I don't do a lot of eggs and the flavors are often limited. This place offers items outside of custard, but nothing that I'd want. But I chose to stop here so I'm going to rate the place. Having said that, I found that they offered a seasonal pumpkin flavor which could be ordered as a swirl, and doing that got me as good of a flavor as I could have hoped for. In addition to a subtle pumpkin note, it was thick and rich, and the price for the portion will suit a hungry traveler or a local. And you can eat outside with a view of some farmland and mountains nearby. It's not far from the highway, so potentially worth considering for many who travel through the area. I don't have much in common with the locals who were eating beside me, but we can all enjoy a good ice cream.

They greeted us within seconds and also gave lots of great recommendations for shops/restaurants around town. This was my first time having quiche and Chef Chuck did not disappoint. The bread pudding was also amazing! Not normally a fan of raisins in baked goods but was still tasty. We ended up coming back Saturday morning for the cinnamon rolls and really glad we did.
