There aren't a lot of dining options in Mount Jackson, VA. We were staying at the Motel 6 nearby, while on a trip to Luray Caverns, and had already explored the Circle K. I have found Sheetz locations can be hit or miss, but they do have an extensive Made To Order menu. The Chinese dumplings were actually delicious. There are only three to an order, though, so you might want to get two orders if you're a dumpling fan. I also got a cheesesteak with nacho cheese and grilled onions. It was alright. About what you would expect from a convenience store. Slightly lesser quality than something you'd get at a take out place. To be honest, I've had worse cheesesteaks at super famous places like Pat's King of Steaks and Genos in Philly. Jeremy got the same, but on a Flatbread instead of a roll. I actually liked his better. The Flatbread wasn't as tough as the white roll. I was able to cut it much easier. I hate it when I have to put my muscles to work trying to cut through food. If a knife can't handle it, my teeth surely are not going to have a good time. He also got mozzarella sticks. They seemed like typical deep fried cheese sticks. My heart sank as I thought this was a fluid leak from the undercarriage ::cue cash register sounds: OH IT WAS A FLUID LEAK ALRIGHT. SOMEONE's BODILY FLUIDS. Not being familiar with the area or the highway we were on, we just looked at the roadside signs to let us know what was up ahead. When we saw the familiar red logo, we knew we were good. This is only second Sheetz I have stumbled upon that is a full on truck stop. Not to be confused with how a regular Sheetz is. It has all the regular aspects of a Sheetz, but with that little extra pizzazz. The customer portion of the setup is what you would expect from a Sheetz. The truck portion is separate from the regular store. There are guide rails to separate the two. Inside, the two portions are joined. What you would expect to find at any regular Sheetz location is here and the things you would expect to see from a truck stop are here as well. With that, the inside is huge. Much more is available. Mostly items that truckers would need for their travels. MTOs, quick grabs, and cooler items are available. Even though it is a truck stop, it was very easy to gain access here. read more

This is a decent place to fill up. When in the area, and not close enough to make it to Front Royal, this is where I'll roll. Prices are competitive, but nowhere as cheap as that community's. Yet when rolling low you have to pump it up. The pumps here are fast, easy to use, and there are trash cans to clear your vehicle up. This is a clean station. MTO subs are pretty good. My personal favorite is the turkey, but there are plenty of choices. Sheetz coffee helps. It's not the best tasting, but it will provide you an immediate caffeine boost. Final update on my ordeal in April. After speaking with customer representatives at the corporate office, nothing was ever done. They admitted that the pump in question did have an issue but did not send someone out for 12 days to fix the problem because something happened to the work order. This was even when they had proof, my video, that the pub did have an issue and was overcharging people. It makes me wonder how many thousands of dollars did they take from people unknowingly. I do not feel that they really cared at all about my issue or the fact that they were improperly charging customers. The fact that they took them 12 days to have someone resolve the issue after they had proof shows this. This Sheetz is located of off Route 292 (Conicville Road) in Mount Jackson, VA. It's on the section of Route 292 that is between Interstate 81 and U.S. 11. The reason I mention this - is that the Yelp map incorrectly depicts the location on the map. If one attempts to check in on Yelp, you'll get a message that you are to far away. Not only did they have gas outside but they also a food station and unlike wawa, they had places to sit. I ordered a 2 for $5 combo that came with a half deli sub and a hot dog (can't remember the name). The hot dog was really good. You can customize what toppings and sauces to put on which makes it so much better. The deli sub was pretty good too but it was a little hard to eat. The sub doesn't really close and you basically eat it open. If you need a quick stop on your trip, sheetz has it all!! read more

Pretty much all of the things in the gift section contain a Confederate naval flag (more commonly simply referred to as "a Confederate flag". And, considering I've seen one actual NAZI flag in the area, this doesn't speak well for the area as a whole. Overall, it makes you think you're in Deliverance. For the four wheelers ... this is a truck stop. Yes, it has gas and food but what I like about it is the laundry. Very seldom can I find a washer and dryer in the towns I travel through on a 24/7/365 basis. This place has them. This particular Sheetz and the one in Dubois, PA that I go to while attending the Groundhog Day program at nearby Punxsutwaney, PA ... are the only Sheetz that are dedicated truck stops. Meaning, they were built from the "git-go" as truck stops. All the other Sheetz that I have been to are geared towards "four wheelers" which is what I am. We call them truckers and they call themselves drivers. Very happy to find a place to do laundry while I am the road. Going into a strange town to find a laundromat is not good sometimes. The drive thru always has excellent service. One time the girl attending to the window came out to my car to help show me an exit around a car blocking the way. The food is always good. They have healthier options than fast food. We especially love the fries with buffalo sauce, the steak and cheese and the hot dogs. Ahh Sheetz... I stop by this location fairly often on my way back to DC. Easy access from the Freeway. Plenty of gas pumps (you need them when people always go in and wait for food without moving their vehicle first.. GRRR). The gas is usually a bit less expensive than the other brands. Inside, there is Made to order food. It's hardly gourmet (Hey, it's a gas station for crying out loud), but it's slightly better than your average fast food..and it's quick. They also have an adequate coffee supply, and some made to order smoothies as well which are quite tasty. My only complaint is that the bathroom could use a bit of tidying... but it's a gas station men's room... I don't expect the floor to be clean enough to eat off of. :) You can try it if you want to though! read more

On June 2, 2020 around 6:00 PM the store had cones out blocking traffic from coming on the property. They had 2 employees standing at the entrance and would not say why they shutdown. The reason that this was a big deal is that they have Tesla Superchargers and my wife and I were on a road trip and needed to use the chargers. I also called the store and they would not tell why they were shutdown. We barely made it to the next charger but it was close! Tesla needs to investigate this to make sure that this does not happen again. read more
