A few of us got some breakfast here to fill up our stomach before the hike. We ordered, paid, and got our food within 5 minutes. I got the breakfast burrito with sausage, cheddar, and roasted corn. I paid about 5.29 after tax and the burrito was pretty sizable with lots of sausage chunks. Overall, pretty solid breakfast burrito. Everyone else enjoyed their breakfast item, too.

When asking for them to double check and make sure they didn't scan a lotto ticket after one of the employees said that the lotto machine wasn't working properly the manager was not willing to look into the matter because she already calculated the tickets the person gave her and didn't see a need to check the ticket folder to make sure the employee gave her all the tickets to see if there was a 10.00 ticket placed in by mistake. Very poor customer service. If that happened to us how many others out there have they over looked that didn't scan correctly and cheating people out of small amount.

Sunlight was starting to show on my journey and I thought that this would be as good as any place to make a stop to maybe grab a bite to eat, or at least grab a snack. This lot is huge, and almost feels like it is part of a bigger plan. This is evident when you circle around the lot. It feels like they have something in line for the lot directly behind Sheetz where they have already placed an entrance for whatever their thought was. Also at the back of the lot, it shares the space for the car wash next door. With the drive thru service at the rear, you definitely need to pay attention back here for the flow of traffic. I went inside to use the facilities, which were in decent shape. I could tell that this was a new store and that it is filled with everything we have become accustom to for a Sheetz. Back outside it was obvious that this location is quite busy. The constant flow of customers is obvious when the change in vehicles is so quick that by the time I went inside and came back out it was like the whole lot changed over.

Me and my buddy ended up getting some of the app samplers to try out their food, you got to choose 3 of the 7 different appetizers they make ready to serve. I got the chicken bites, mozzarella sticks and cheese curds with the Dr Pepper BBQ sauce and we both enjoyed them for what they were. They were made in front of us and hot when we received them and I didn't know I needed some Dr Pepper BBQ sauce in life until that moment! And for the $7.11 price tag the price was fitting for the amount I got and the quality. All in all a good experience.

They don't allow you to pay at the pump - you have to actually first go inside, get authorized, then gas up. You can pay for gas here with a credit card. The convenience store portion of the operation sells a wide variety of canned goods, bottled water, soda, toiletries, and more. You can also get hot coffee and tea to go. Finally, there is a Deli counter where you can order sandwiches, burgers, breakfast foods and such. You can also pick up fishing and hunting licenses here. However, there does not appear to be a public restroom. I asked after gassing up - and the lady at the counter told there was not a public restroom.

Since Winchester Road could be renamed 'fast food alley', the fact that this Shell station sold something other than pre-packaged sandwiches and chips was a welcome change of pace. I noticed their kitchen had quite a few food options, including BBQ ribs, BBQ chicken, pulled pork, NC style bbq, and Asian Style bbq. I got a pulled pork sandwich, plus coleslaw, for under $6! It was incredibly tasty too--with the right amount of tang, and sweetness. The portions were also generous. Next time I am looking for a 'pack-in' lunch or something to bring on a canoe trip, I'll definitely stop by this Shell station, again.
