I tried The Kindred (named after Octavia Butler's now classic novel) which is a toasted honey latte. This had a wonderful blend of coffee and the sweet honey syrup. I also tried the Settlement latte which is named after the African American community in this part of Prince William County. If you want to grab something to eat, they also have breakfast and lunch food options as well. Vibes: One of the best parts of this coffee shop! It's more than getting a cup of coffee; they've put a lot of thought into the decorations here which celebrate Black authors and artists. She was awesome and the latte was the highlight of my experience and the only thing that kept me sane while waiting. The staff behind the counter, while friendly, seemed distracted by each other and were honestly just lollygagging around when it looked like they could've been assembling sandwich ingredients. We've had a few drinks and treats, but I went with the mocha which is always great. A really good balance of some sweetness without being too much chocolate to overpower the coffee. Chris (owner) was there today and it was nice to get to say hi. He's amazing and always great to have a chat with. Looking forward to getting back soon. P.S. - while I don't know if they have the loyalty punch cards there yet, don't forget to grab one if they do or get it at the other location.

I also ordered a blueberry scone - warmed up - which was pretty good. The second visit - I ordered a cold brew with Half n' Half. They had me add the Half n' Half. The drink was strong and good. I also got one of their large Oatmeal raisin cookies to go - which was a very tasty cookie. My friend ordered an Americano with an extra shot of espresso. He said it was a good Americano! It's…read morelocated in the Gainesville Square retail complex - just to the right of Gainesville Diner (G Diner). It occupies the space that previously contained a Hookah Bar. I just happened to notice them this morning (Jun 30, 2026) as I was passing through the retail complex. They don't have a formal sign on the building yet - but I saw the open sign - and went in for some caffeine. Turns out they are not "formally" open yet. They are still in "Soft Open" mode as they work to get everything just right. For example - their air conditioning is not yet installed - and you could feel it! The gentleman behind the counter shared with me they are scheduled to get their AC up and running tomorrow (July 1). I remarked they need to get in going ASAP - as we are about to experience a heat wave starting tomorrow! I ordered a large cold brew with Half n' Half. As I watched the gentleman prepare it - he did something I've never seen other coffee shops do - he whipped the Half n' Half before adding it to the cold brew! The default vanilla latte isn't overly sweet, which is good. The regular latte is pretty well pulled. Not over extracted, but a little too much milk for my preference. My wife had an English muffin with an egg. It tasted as good as a 2 ingredient dish could taste. Or at least those 2 ingredients. My raspberry crumble was also good, but could have used more raspberry. I prefer to taste the raspberry as the predominant flavor and in this bar it was a bit masked by the crumble. Still enjoyable though. It's a bit tight inside and typical of an independent coffee shop. Wooden floors and something to look at wherever you turn. Definitely a decent place to grab a cup of coffee if you are in old town. We haven't been here in the evening, it they do have a decent beer list for later in the day.

We usually stop by every other week as my kids and husband are getting their haircut at the old town man cave. It is definitely a staple in old town, Manassas. The service is always amazing. The staff is always so nice and so kind and considerate. I enjoy going in there and getting a chance to talk to them and everything too. The ambience is amazing because it's decorated with local artists and letting them sell their designs in the shop. It's the perfect little hometown right here in old town.
