I can't express enough how much i adore this cafe! The staff if so friendly and knowledgeable, and I love how interactive the owner is! They have their own roasting facility IN HOUSE! I've become completely addicted to the smell on their roasting days. Today, I used my punch card for a free drink! The espresso is creamy, nutty, with a mildly sweet finish the shop has such a rustic charm...and apparently! There is live music on the weekends! I thought I was going to be able to move past this without writing a review but turns out I'm still feeling salty about it 3 months later. I went to Coffee Mob on a whim in February. It's a pretentious place with no prices to be seen anywhere. I ordered a small mocha and was charged NINE DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS. Absolutely outrageous pricing. The barista hardly registered my existence and let out a loud sigh when I asked for a napkin which was behind the counter. Sorry, but I think $9.50 earns me at least one measly napkin. Never again. New spot in my neighborhood just opened, we came after Easter dinner for a couple drinks. The owner was very gracious the bar was about to close but he kept it open longer for us very appreciated. Ambience is could be improved - the bar has very large windows so can feel a little bit intrusive. Will be back to try out the food! read more

Stopped by for coffee. There's no menu inside or online, so you can't see prices or offerings. I asked if they had chai lattes and the guy at the counter laughed like it was a dumb question. He seemed annoyed that I had multiple questions about their food options--but there's no menu?? The service honestly made me feel stupid and the iced coffee I eventually got was extremely bitter. I had brought my laptop to work. I had to ask for the WiFi info, which wasn't posted anywhere either, and then I realized they put tape over the outlets so you can't charge. I live a block away but unfortunately I don't plan to come back. Two stars because the seating is comfy and it gets a lot of sunlight. read more

Read all the great reviews and decided to try this spot! Really enjoyed the iced oat milk latte. Great smooth espresso. Oat milk available so that is always a plus. Pricey... after adding oat milk (+ 1 dollar) it was $7! So it was a $6 latte. I mean for new york maybe that isn't thaaat shocking but it still hurt a little Not 5 stars because they still use plastic straws and not eco-friendly cups. Should try and use the compostable cups. COVID-19 updates- there are about 3 outdoor tables. You can't go in the store except to pay with card. Just take out coffee. Overall great coffee if you want some good espresso but be prepared to pay! read more

Grab a perfect (and ethical) espresso coffee on your way to the subway! They advertise that their coffee is sustainably sourced, with a picture and a story about the grower. Cups are completely compostable, including the lids, but don't worry, they can easily handle a hot drink without disintegrating. An 8oz cappuccino is very satisfying here, and prices are cheaper than what you'd expect, given how little competition there is for espresso coffees in the immediate neighborhood. The official menu says that soy/almond/macadamia milk is a dollar extra, but in practice the barista may or may not charge this ;) Haven't tried the food but the spinach pastries and the quiches both love ok delicious! read more

Okay, when I originally tried the Mob three years ago I was completely turned off. Usually the first thing I try is the house roast and I was utterly disgusted. I decided to give this place a second chance about a year ago and this time I didn't go for the coffee roast, I went for espresso hoping they wouldn't kill that too. Lo and behold! We have a winner. I had the cortado and it really is one of my favorite drinks here. The aeration is always on point. Also, got chocolate kids, get your hot chocolate here. They put mini marshmallows in it and whatnot. Oh! And tea-- they have both herbal and caffeinated and even though it takes a couple of minutes to steep, those are minutes I'm willing to endure. Seasonally, they have their patented hot Ginger Brew. I have an obsession with al things ginger, but I must warn that this is most certainly not the faint of heart. Food and Service: the pastries are amazing and I'm a major fan of the almond croissant and a tiny French pastry called a cannelle. Samantha is an absolute sweetheart and really puts up with my indecisive mind. In fact, the whole crew makes you feel right at home. Can't wait to try the new seasonal drinks. read more

In fact in my many years as a patron, I have never eaten there. What it is, is what it is truly great at; a fantastic specialty coffee shop run and owned by a local passionate man who simply loves and is enthusiastic about his coffee. He often travels to origin to procure his coffees and roasts each batch personally and passionately to perfection. However, to those looking to supplement their Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts or people who enjoy break room coffee machines, this is NOT the place for you! Also if you're idea of good service is a Brooklynite girl ushering you thru the line quickly and asking "who's next!" this is also not the place for you. However , if you're in search of fantastic, freshly roasted, well procured, 3rd wave/specialty coffee, brewed with care by a local and passionate business owner in a nice neighborhood shop, Coffee Mob comes highly, highly recommended. It is, hands down, the absolute best cup of coffee available in a many mile radius, and by far the BEST in the Flatbush/Ditmas Park/Kensington/Midwood area. read more

I've come back time and time again for the amazing beans that the owner, Buck, roasts and sources himself. I've tried Burundi, Gesha, Caturra, from Natural to Washed and Red Honey process and everything in between. You can talk about his techniques and approach to the industry and it very much shows how much these people care about quality. Their cold brew is not burnt and over extracted like it is in 99% of cafes and their espresso is acidic and fruity. Really spectacular place to get to know your coffee and bring some beans home (like my photo shows) even if you're on a bike. They thought I was stealing....I walked in to get a cold brew with soy milk and gave the barista my order. He is a average height and skinny white man with a ungroomed beard. The gentleman is young, wore a navy blue snapback, and was a little awkward. He said he don't want to take my order because he know I'm up to no good. I said I don't know what he is talking about but he told me a fella like me walked in with the same fitted Yankee cap yesterday and was loitering in the shop. I told the man I didn't go to Coffee Mob yesterday but he didn't believe me. He quickly grabbed the tip jar and put it under the counter away from my reach and said he was gon call the police. I didn't want no problems as a black man so I walked out which makes me feel very sad. Never going here again. I love to support local businesses but this one don't support my people. read more

I ordered a small decaf. I was asked what kind of decaf? I replied decaf coffee. The Brewster served my coffee outside and asked for $4.50. I responded the coffee should be $2.50. He explained, "we don't have decaf so I had to make you an Americana, but I will charge $3.75 for a medium". I pointed out he did not communicate this to me and did not ask me to change my order and by the way the coffee is in a small sized cup. "Well this seemed like the best thing to do, I don't know why you are upset". I left, advising him to learn the importance of communicating, esp. with somebody who was once a good customer. A good coffee shop isn't hard to find. An amazing coffee shop is harder to find. I was doing business in the area, and looked up to find this cute little corner spot. I wanted a coffee in addition to a tea of some sort. I walked in, they have these really cute wooden couches with cushions for people to sit and chill/work on. I ordered a coffee -- They brew their own! AMAZING And ordered some sort of lavender iced tea! HOLY CRAP --- It was so so good. Buck and his crew are personally invested, they call regulars by their names and always have dog treats for the pups that visit too. They do make the best coffee around. After a couple hours worth of walking around Brooklyn, my friends and I wandered into Coffee Mob after seeing a sign for fresh squeezed lemonade (ironic, no?). We walked in and were quite surprised by what we saw. This looks like some place out of Park Slope or parts of the West Village. Wood furniture, small tables, a turn table playing music and a nice blackboard with the menu written on a wall. It feels friendly and modern without being pretentious in any way. The gent who took care of us was super friendly and even let us sample something if we were unsure of whether we'd like it or not. My girlfriend ordered the Cascada Tea and I ordered a Dirty Chai - both on ice. The Cascada was really interesting. It's made from coffee beans but tastes more like an herbal tea, but with flavors of dates. The dirty chai was really interesting. Unlike the one from say, Starbucks, its flavor focused more on the anise spice, and it was wonderfully savory. The coffee gave it an extra dimension that was really nice. I had a really nice time hanging out at Coffee Mob and would go back any time I'm in the area. As a final note, Coffee Mob is Cash Only, so bring at least $5-10 with you when you visit. read more

This place is pretty good. I love that they are socially conscious as witnessed by the Black Lives Matter sign posted on the window. I got the hot chocolate. Was very ... chocalaty. Not too much, not too little, just right. Kind of a bummer that you have to wait outside for your order (because of COVID) but I get it. This should correct itself soon (yay, vaccine!). The table and chairs setup outside makes up for the inability to be able to hang out inside. Nice place to people-watch if you have an hour to spare and if the weather's great. I'm lucked out moving so close to an independent coffee house, but Coffee Mob is an absolute blessing! Their staff is always incredible kind whenever I stop by, and I feel so comfortable when I stop by to do some work on my computer. Their espresso roast is really good. I always order a plain latte to judge a new coffee shop, and they make a great latte. Coffee Mob batistas really know what they're doing, and the teas are good too! And if you're lactose intolerant like me, they offer plenty of milk alternatives. I cant wait to explore more of the menu. read more

3.5 stars is justifiable because, even though it was spectacular cuppa coffee, the counter milk had expired. To think back on that morning, I had never tasted anything so bright with notes of citrus and soured milk and a stomach ache... Aside from that, they have an array of baked goods that rotate depending on the day of the week. Ask for the specials; it's sorta on the dl, for whatever reason. Plenty of sitting space and Wi-Fi. I hope to come back for another bright brew hopefully without any side effects. Also, you will confuse the clean spoons with the dirty spoons if ya don't notice their unalarming labels. read more

Buck, the owner was extremely inappropriate with me and at least one another female customer that I've heard of. Buck sexually harassed me with advances multiple times after I made it clear I was not interested. I stopped going there. I recently heard an account of him similarly harassing another woman. If he has done this to two of us I'm sure there are more. It's 2019, we cannot let abuse of power in our communities go uncommented on. read more
