Absolutely delicious, just like fresh artesian spring water! Woohoo! This has been my favorite coffee for over 30 years. The coffee is freshly brewed to high standards. In addition, the staff is great to tolerated my eccentricities. I'm a nerd when it comes to Antigua. Their other coffees and espresso beans are out of this world. Great variety! There's a ground level and an overlooking area which I like aesthetically with additional seating. Luckily after walking around to find a seat by the time my drink was ready, I was able to grab a seat. There are outlets along the walls making it easy to charge up wherever you sit. The coffee wasn't remarkable and I found it to be a little bitter but it was okay. I was disappointed with the lack of Christmas type drinks and opted for one of the fall themed drink. I enjoyed the ambiance and was able to spend a few hours reading my book and enjoyed the amount of light and respect for quiet in the cafe. I tried their lavender latte, oat milk latte (extra hot), and of course their drip coffee because you cannot judge a coffee shop without trying the drip. The drip was excellent, rich, well balanced, and tasted very fresh, clearly brewed fresh. The latte was just as good, creamy with proper foam and a smooth lavender flavor that did not overpower the coffee. The only small hiccup was that we were told the drinks would be brought to our table, but after waiting a bit I went up to grab them myself. I may have misheard, so it was not a big deal. Overall a great experience, comfortable atmosphere, plenty of seating, and genuinely solid coffee. I stopped in after lunch this time but will definitely be back to try their food next time.

They also shared that the employee helping me was in her first week, which gave helpful context to the situation. As a kind gesture, they sent me a $10 gift card, which I thought was very thoughtful. When I came back in to use it, they recognized my name from the situation and took the time to talk with me in person and explain everything again. That really meant a lot and showed how much they care about their customers. Customer service and communication go a long way, and I'm grateful for the way they handled everything. I'm looking forward to continuing to support them. Old review: Melby's has really great drinks and the atmosphere is honestly one of the reasons I keep going back. It's a cozy spot and the coffee itself is consistently good. That said, the customer service can be hit or miss. The employees often come across as a bit unpleasant, which takes away from the experience. One thing that's especially frustrating is their refusal to allow personal cups. Almost every other coffee shop I visit is happy to accommodate this, and it doesn't require much effort, many places simply set the cup on the counter and pour the drink without even touching it. It's a small thing, but it makes a difference for customers who are trying to reduce waste or just prefer using their own cup. Instead, I got the chicken pesto sandwich. Although quite unassuming, the sandwich was incredibly delicious. The ciabatta bread offered just the right amount of toast and texture to hold everything. There was a sizeable chicken breast. Not dry but also not too flavorful by itself but that's okay. The pesto really delivered on the flavor with a savory, nutty, and slightly herbal flavor. In the future, I'd love to try a one of their many drinks - non-alcoholic and alcoholic included!

Other seating includes table with benches (beware you can't move the benches to get in & out, if I'm wrong I apologize), then some a few tables with chairs by the windows, on the other side they do have benches facing each other with tables in between (great for groups!), & beautiful outdoor patio seating. They have a small upstairs with chairs & use wine barrels as tables. Clever! Customer service is okay, let me say that every person there has been extremely pleasant but out of the four times I've been there, only once I didn't have an issue. They seem to enough their jobs & working together, which is a green flag for any place, but sometimes they get distracted. One time I stood there & staff was chatting in the corner, a good amount of time passed before anyone noticed me. Another time, they just forgot my drink (it was the only thing in my order) & there were no other order left... the group was again chatting away with with each other, then during another visit they forgot my croissant. Each time they did apologize, but three out of four times aren't good odds. I probably won't frequent this location as much, but I will stop by once in awhile because their drinks are worth it.
