I've been coming here for over 15 yrs so it's definitely a staple. Received a text for a new latte for Valentine's week so we stopped in. Service is usually good, but the young ladies working were especially engaging. I also purchased ground coffee so I was given a few options on what to try. The barista took her time crafting the lattes we ordered so I didn't mind waiting a bit, also the space wasn't crowded so it was nice to have the leisure. I had the red wine mocha decaf since it was after 5p and it was definitely worth the trip, great paring since it has been my experience that (sometimes) both chocolate and espresso pair well with red wine. Stopped by Avoca Coffee Roasters for a quick cup of coffee over the weekend. When you arrive parking is quite difficult as you'll need to either find a parking spot out front or on a side street in the back. When you walk in the coffee shop is nice and quite large but was packed, making it hard to find a spot to sit. To order you'll approach the barista at the counter and place your order. I ordered the TX butterscotch bourbon latte which had good flavor but the coffee beans were a bit on the watery/light side. I definitely would recommend trying this place out if you are in the magnolia area but definitely not my favorite. read more

I loved the ambience here and the drinks were quite affordable and amazing service. I came in because this is only my second or third time in Ft worth and was recommended to me by a friend. I ordered the strawberry matcha with oat milk and was a bit disappointed with the quality. Taste and color were off, the matcha was very diluted and I could barely taste any of it, and tasted low quality. I probably should have gotten an actual coffee at a coffee shop but I don't think this place is worth all of the hype is gets. I came on a Saturday afternoon, and although the inside has a lot of seating, all tables were full. Luckily a couch spot opened up, but heads up if you come on the weekend. I ordered a vanilla latte. Unfortunately, my latte art was butchered compared to my husband's bourbon latte that he got. We ordered at the same time, so it was disappointing to see the latte art come out so wildly different. The milk in my latte was over steamed (hence all the little bubbles and uneven surface), so it compromised the taste of the milk. The espresso they use is also very low acidity, which doesn't suit my preference for bold and acidic coffee. It tasted like hot water with vanilla syrup sadly. There are better coffee shops in DFW for the same price point, so I'm not sure Avoca will be a repeat spot for me. read more

Avoca Coffee Roasters is a really cute coffee shop in Fort Worth! The space is pretty large and I loved all the mismatched decor. I stopped in on a Saturday morning and it was really busy. There is a decent amount of seating inside and outside, but it fills up quickly. The baristas are really nice and work efficiently to get your order out as soon as possible. I got a drip coffee with lavender syrup which I really enjoyed. I also got the almond croissant, which was good, but not my favorite as the almond filling was super chunky rather than smooth marzipan. There are tons of outlets and 2 clean, unisex bathrooms. Everyone was really friendly and the whole place had a great vibe. I spent an hour or two reading here and will definitely come back in the future. read more

Came here with the family and none of us are from Texas so we tried to ask about some recommendations or if they have any specialty drinks and the barista was just not the friendliest and she kept mumbling so I felt bad having to ask her to repeat herself. I ended up ordering a latte with lavender syrup with half & half. Another barista that was making the drinks while others were ordering and I'm standing near the bar area and you can clearly hear him talking mad crap about dairy products and yes, we're all entitled to our feelings about things but maybe not talk loudly about it with customers around. Definitely one of those "expressing your ick is giving me ick." Bad vibes from someone making your drink makes you receive it with less joy for sure. First of all, environment is very cool, hip and trendy. Big enough to host leather lounge seats and tables for those needing to work/spread out. The seasonal butterscotch coffee is very delicious. I am deducting 2 stars because I can't stand to have plastic when I am ordering in. Give me a real cup. The barista did say it was due to not having many cups for cold drinks. DO NOT PROVIDE ALLERGEN LIST The coffee itself was decent, but the service and food safety practices were concerning. While ordering, the staff behind the bar seemed distracted and unprepared--stepping away mid-order and unable to answer basic questions about the pastries they were selling. I asked what kind of scones were available, and after some back-and-forth between multiple baristas, the only answers I got were vague guesses like "maple something" and "lemon blueberry." As someone with a tree nut allergy, I asked if either scone contained nuts. No one could give me a clear answer. I then asked if they had an allergen list or any ingredient information, which by law should be available upon request. I was told they had no list and no idea what ingredients were in the pastries, since they came from an outside bakery. Because of that, I chose not to order any food. To follow up, I called later to speak with a manager and was told no one in management would be available until Monday. It's frustrating that a food establishment selling pastries doesn't have policies in place to provide allergen information--especially when it's a health risk for some customers. We stumbled upon Avoca on a rainy Friday night around 7pm. Walking in, the dimly lit Halloween decorated cafe was nearly desolate, except one customer sitting at a table. We ordered a hot latte to share and it was made quickly. I was pretty excited to try my first coffee in Fort Worth, but unfortunately was let down. The bitterness of the coffee, paired with a lack of depth was disappointing. I do think that some of it is definitely personal preference, so it could just be that this coffee wasn't for me. Avoca has to be one of my top favorite coffee shops!! It is spacious but still homey. It is a good place to study but also a good place to hang out. No matter what you are looking for in a coffee shop, Avoca can deliver that!! For the most part, the workers are friendly. Some more so than others. There are plenty of tables and sitting areas spread throughout, and I have never had trouble finding a place to claim. There is nothing worse than walking into a coffee shop but having to leave due to not finding a spot. My favorite drink of theirs is their mocha. It is divine. So chocolatey yet not overpowering. It has the perfect amount of sweetness and wakes you up just right! They also offer pastries to snack on, but I have yet to try these. Maybe next time I am in! read more
