March 1, 2024 - two for brunch after church. Heard from friends at church they were opened on Sunday......thought we would check it out. We live down the street in Lake of the Woods. WHO KNEW this place has been there for a while?? I am flying so fast and dodging crazy crivers coming off of Rte 41 and then wacky stuff on East Venice Road..... but there it is!!! Service was crazy warm and friendly. Felt a little short staffed based on the number of people in there. But it worked out, we are not in a rush. I drank a decaf and my wife got leaded. Really goood brew and had that diner wholesome flavor, not some acidic hairstanding Starbuck powerful stuff!! Be prepared for 'stimulation' because the cup never got cold or down below 3/4 full.... they were topping it off immediatly!!! Service for everything was fantastic!!!!! I got the Irish Oatmeal with berries : very good and almost too much to half finish, very reasonably priced. My wife (even though we had a whole cheddar quiche she made the day before in the fridge) got their quiche. She "said" is wasbetter than hers. I woudl not know since she never offered me a taste and gobbled it up so fast I did not even get a picture??? This is a VERY nice place. While there is a LOT of breakfast competition, it is now on our short list and goto for a nice breaksfast or lunch. We heard some talk of a name change to say its just not about coffee??? and maybe some dinner hours as well????? So keep checking back. read more

I loved this place but todays experience was horrible. We were greeted promptly and had our beverages right away. Took probably 10 minutes before the waitress came. I only ordered a toasted bagel and a bowl of fruit. My husband had a bigger breakfast. It took probably +20 minutes and my husband saw our food in the window. The waitress was talking non stop to people at the counter. Didn't even look at the food in the window. When the food was brought it was ALL ON THE SAME PLATE, his and mine. Another 5 minutes for them to fix that. Then they brought it and forgot my husbands toast. That took another 5. Meanwhile another couple sat down after we came in and they had their food LONG before we did. They were almost done by the time we got ours. In their defense they were short staffed but service like this is unacceptable. We were not happy. read more

I go to this place every day I love the place it's amazing the service is the fastest service ever the food it top tear and the coffee is the best thing I ever have here you have to try out the cheesy quesadillas there they are the bomb and it's not even that much for them and everything in the place is so peaceful and beautiful to be around!!! read more

Visiting my in-laws who live in Venice, and I needed a WiFi location to work remotely for a morning. This place is MUCh bigger than it appears from the outside. Friendly and warm decor with lots of natural light, and the type of place with different kinds of tables and chairs so kind of eclectic. I thought it was a traditional coffee shop but it is a restaurant where they wait on you. The staff were very friendly and checked on me a few times even though I just ordered coffee. My vanilla latte was good - can't say it's my favorite I've ever had but I am no coffee expert so I can't even pinpoint why. For milk alternatives, they had almond milk, but sounded like no soy. read more

Went for lunch after golfing at Capri Isle. The owner was very personable and described the dishes and offered suggestions. Two of us had the quiche which was hot out of the oven and lived up to her description. The other 3 had the Supreme BLT that they all raved about. Never again! My coffee cup had brown stains inside it. Terrible service & the food was not good either. I was told they do not have American cheese for my burger because it is processed. ALL cheese is processed. Yikes, then my food came 10 minutes before my husbands?! It was not a good burger & the panini was cheese & ham dry in a pressed bread with no sauce or seasoning. When the bill came the beer ordered was on the bill but after getting out the money to pay I was told that the beer price had gone up and the bill needed to be recalculated. It was a 20 cent difference?!! It was a twilight zone experience for sure. We went for breakfast a few months ago and it was so bad so we thought maybe it would be better for lunch.........only people there at 12 noon on a Wednesday, we should have taken the Q!! The quiche was fresh out of the oven and I got it topped with bacon...I highly recommend. The bread was also perfectly buttered and the fruit salad had dragon fruit (a surprising nice addition which I've never seen at a restaurant before). I had a chicken noodle soup and my boyfriend had a vegetable quiche everything tasted very fresh. I also decided to get a Caramel Macchiato and since the only one I've tried before is the starbucks one, boy, was I surprised when I tried the one at Coffee Cafe! I had a very bad experience at The Coffee Cafe. I bought two Local Flavor groupons for this place. I didnt have the chance to use them while the promotional value was in place but it states on the coupons that the amount I paid for them ($10 each) expires on 5/25/23. By law, this merchant has to accept this coupon for the amount i paid for it. When I went in the cafe to redeem the coupon, the owner was very nasty and said she would not accept it. I explained that the coupon said that its good until 5/25/23. She put up her hand and said "I dont care!!". She didnt care that I bought 2 of these coupons for $20 to support her business and now she refused to redeem them. I will never go there again and I will be sure to mention this experience to everyone I know. If her business is hurting, she could have been nice about it. She didnt have to come at me with an attitude. I sat at her table and showed her the coupon. She got nasty very quickly and exclaimed, "Oh, Im not taking those"! I was very surprised at her nastiness and her outburst in front of all her customers sitting at the other tables. I dont know how people can say that she is friendly. This was not our experience at all. read more

The service was average and the food was okay. I had an egg sandwich with fruit and a soda. They don't have much on the menu as far as food goes and $6 for an egg and sandwich I could have made at home seemed a little high to me. I guess I expected too much. The homemade SPLIT PEA WITH HAM soup was amazing and the HAM and CHEESE PANINI was out of this world. Great coffee too! This is a great little restaurant. The best coffee in Venice for the price. They have a full coffee bar, a delicious raspberry tea with free refills. The owners take great pride in the coffee they serve. it is not cheap restaurant coffee. Huge delicious New York bagels, Boar's Head bacon, breakfast sandwiches and bakery goods baked right there. No Sysco truck pulling up here. they buy from local grocers and farm stands. The owner's and employees are very warm and will make you feel right at home. I stumbled across this gem of a coffee shop while getting blood work done down the street. I had irish oatmeal which was adorned with fresh fruit, dried cranberries, walnuts and brown sugar. It was a real treat after having to fast for the blood work! They even offered steamed milk with it. And, speaking of steamed milk, the latte I had was wonderful. You can tell they use good quality beans and it didn't have that "burnt" taste like Starbucks. The atmosphere was relaxed and the decor is really interesting. Will be back for sure. While visiting in Venice, I needed a good cup of coffee in the morning. Coffee Cafe definitely has great coffee! The first time I went I got a breakfast sandwich for my fiancé. The second time, I got sandwiches for the both of us. The food is great, but there's a reason for only my 3 stars...service. The first time I was there, there was only one man running the whole show. The second time, there was a man and a woman. Both times they were incredibly frazzled, and it made me very uncomfortable. Not to mention this second time due to how busy and how frazzled they were, they messed up our order twice. The first time they only gave us one sandwich, the second time we realized that they forgot bacon in BOTH of our sandwiches. When I come back to Venice, I'll definitely come back, but maybe just for the coffee...cut them some slack!! read more
