The matcha is bad, it tastes like a premade powdered matcha latte. Definitely not ceremonial grade, would not recommend. The egg and cheese muffin looks and smells like it's from McDonald's. Does not taste good. Won't be finishing the drink or muffin. I was really looking forward to coming here and reading my book and enjoying a Matcha and a pastry. I ordered a matcha dalgona with almond milk and it was ready in a couple minutes. The matcha cream (which has to be made with heavy cream so it whips up) was plentiful & it was quite an aesthetically please drink. The only due side, you have to mix the heck out of it before you drink it haha; but, that's just the nature of a dalgona. They also offer a coffee & chocolate option. It came in a very sturdy plastic cup that could be reused over and over again if you wanted. The staff was super friendly & the prices were quite reasonable. My drink was less than $7. read more

Serenity Sips is a super cute and cozy coffee shop--such a great little spot to stop in. I ordered the matcha latte with oat milk, dark chocolate, and pistachio, and wow... so delicious. The combination was unique, well-balanced, and tasted amazing from the first sip to the last. Decent place. An earlier review mentioned coffee was bitter. I had the same experience, the espresso drink was very sharp and wasn't dialed in to be smooth and balanced, the equipment is top notch so maybe they weren't train well? There aren't a lot of great options in Venice so I would say average. Also, I am not a fan of onions and all the breakfast options had onions so I didn't get to try any of those. read more

My mom and I discovered this place while I was in town visiting (thank you, Yelp!). It's only about 5 minutes from their house and she had never been -- but now will definitely return! We were greeted immediately upon entering this cute coffee shop with ample seating. They've got a pastries case along with a menu with a variety of coffee/espresso drinks and flavors to customize what you order. I got the cold brew which was the right level of potency and my mom got the dirty chai which she loved! We also sampled with custard crème puff and the strawberry butter danish - both made fresh that morning and both delightful. Plus, everything was reasonably priced. I WANT it to be 5 stars worthy and I've given this place multiple chances, but the truth is, the coffee just isn't that great. Nor is the latte. I've ordered a plain old cafe con leche and a vanilla latte and maybe 1 in 10 was tasty -- and by that I mean missing the bitter metal aftertaste I always hope isn't going to bite me on my first sip, and then it inevitably does. It's the same reason I avoid Starbucks establishments if I can: that same bitter aftertaste. Maybe it's the equipment used; maybe it's their beans: maybe it's their methods. Dubnknow. What I do know is a great hot caffeine beverage when I actually taste one. Not here, I'm (very) sad to say. They only had honey to sweeten the boba milk tea which was an overpowering taste, the boba plastic cups are too thin and cheap to be held with one hand without squeezing out the contents. Hands-down, the best espresso I have found in the Venice area! The espresso was creamy and smooth- totally delicious! The regular coffee is also very smooth and tasty. My husband and I split a crumb cake that had a ton of crumbs on the top and the cake was moist and delightful.
