You (the Braintree store) beat 3 other local coffee shops in the areas of taste, quality of chocolate, creaminess, ability to be drunk right away instead of burning ones tongue and all around great cup of cocoa. I like how you mix both cocoa powder and melted chocolate - what a brilliant idea! And Ghiradelhi is a nice touch. Thank you also for steaming the milk and adding a beautiful dollop of whipped cream on top. I'm a fan of the original but cannot wait to go back and try the peanut butter cup and maybe even the spicy version you also sell. Thank the lo' for Coffee Break. During my mid-work day slump I take a quick ride to the Break and get a frosty pick-me-up. With flavors like German Coffee Cake and Snickers - my sweet tooth and more than satisfied. The seasonal flavors are the bomb - currently they're featuring Pumpkin Spice and it is delightful! What I love most? The way they make an iced coffee. Milk, melted sugar and shaken so it's cold and slightly frothy. Yum. The best part of it all? A medium iced is comparable in price to Dunkin Donuts, so my wallet isn't hurtin'. read more

This is the cutest little coffee shop near where I live, and it makes me feel at home. It's got the friendliest staff, and inside, it's small and adorable and inviting. It's got some comfy chairs where you can sit and read if you want, or you can sit at the counter space near the windows and read a newspaper. It's like your own neighborhood Cheers for coffee drinkers. Speaking of which, I don't drink coffee but they have a wide selection of milkshakes/smoothies/blizzard-type drinks that I LOVE. They have these blizzard type drinks of all flavors like oreo and reeses, but their BEST DRINK EVER IS THE FROZEN HOT CHOCOLATE. It's a huge size and it's like drinking, well, a magical frozen hot chocolate. It's got this amazing creamy taste that will quench your thirst and chocolate cravings! I'd highly recommend trying the frozen hot chocolate there, because it's so unique and you can't get it anywhere else! Because it's a family run business, it's a bit pricey compared to a Dunkin Donuts. However, you're supporting your local business and it's a great little place so I think it's worth it. read more

This is by far my favorite local coffee shop! The wide variety of iced coffee brews is ever-changing, and I love that I can try new brews with all sorts of great flavors without having to use sugary syrups. The staff who works here is always very pleasant, friendly, and efficient. The only minor gripe I have about this place is that it's small and it can get quite busy and crowded depending on the day/time of the week you go. However, this is negligible and does not detract from my overall satisfaction with Coffee Break Cafe. P.s. if you're a fan of having nuts as a snack, try the wasabi soy ginger peanuts they carry. It is a nice set up and the parking lot is spaceous; sadly, not impressed by the kind of expensive coffee ($4 for a medium iced); keurig vibes. Coffee did not taste like coffee. More like water with a hint of dairy and very light vanilla. Maybe I will try the food but not coffee here again. Good customer service. read more

Great place to hang out and grab a good cup of coffee. I take my coffee black, typically, and the variety of brewed flavors at this establishment leave the options open for a different taste every time I stop by. Don't be afraid to ask them for recommendations, many of their monthly flavors are excellent. I've had nothing but good interactions with the staff here. Very friendly and outgoing! I only wish that CBC served more than spreads on their bagels/sandwiches. It wouldn't be bad to be able to grab an egg & cheese sometime here, but to my knowledge they don't do so. By far my #1 place to go for coffee. I'm actually drinking a coffee from Coffee Break as I type this. (Flavor of the month - Vermont Maple...delicious!) CBC (as my friends and I like to call it) offers a large variety of flavored coffees. I've pretty much tried every single one, and I have nothing but good things to say about them! Their frozen drinks are to die for, as well as their lemonade and teas. All of the baristas are incredibly nice, and make great drinks. The café is on the smaller side, so during the morning rush it can get a bit cramped. Parking can be tough, but I personally don't mind walking if I have to. There is a small parking lot outside, and street parking is always available. If you haven't tried out Coffee Break I highly recommend it! read more

My boyfriend took me here on one of our first dates, and it was the first time I'd ever experienced the amazingness that is Coffee Break coffee. Let me just say I'm not a coffee addict. Not one of those " don't talk to me until I've had my coffee" folks by a long shot although I do appreciate a nice iced one once in a blue moon. I find it overstimulating, even in small amounts, so perhaps it should really be a once in a meteor shower thing. Originally I wanted to try Marylou's but this place is easier to get to and is right down the street from where I used to grocery shop. I might add, this is not your neighborhood Starbucks. If you're a coffee addict this is the place for a good cup of joe in Quincy!!! I've been here dozens of times and had the same great coffee and experience each time. This location is right by the Wollaston T stop and tons of street parking. The staff is friendly and efficient despite their tatted and pierced look. Plenty of seats in this small coffee shop so choose if you'd rather a couch, a table or the amazing window bar seating to people watch. My girls and I sit around for hours catching up and drinking coconut coffee....mmmm a little taste of heaven on earth. The muffins are huge and tasty as well as the bagels. Love that they cater to tea drinkers as well with a large selection of flavors. The place gets busy, especially in the afternoon but the line moves fast, So if you're planning on staying for a while be sure to grab your seat early or you might be fighting with high school students or policemen looking for an afternoon caffeine pick me up. From time to time, I work in Quincy so I decided to check out one of the local businesses. Coffee Break is a very short walk from the Wollaston T stop. The outside looks a bit shabby, but inside was cute and inviting. I got an iced coffee. I have a bit of a beef with places that put the sugar/milk/cream in for you, but they were pretty good about following my request (very small amount of cream, small amount of sugar). I wasn't blown away at all by the iced coffee, but it looks like their true strength may be their flavored coffees, so maybe I'll give that a shot next time. Also... buffalo chicken cream cheese? Spinach and artichoke cream cheese? Next time I will definitely be trying one of these on a bagel! read more

First time here! Amazing little coffee shop hidden in Quincy. The Dunkin Donuts I used to go to was demolished because of their roof collapsing from the snow this year. Fate, it would seem, has brought me here. I am glad I went looking for a new place to drink my coffee and I am glad I found The Coffee Break! 3.5 stars. I have only been here once and we had lattes and bagel so I can't comment on a lot of their specialties and their consistency. Service was fine. One really friendly gal and the other just average. Lattes were good and we received great 'bagel service' (sliced, toasted, butter and brought to our seats). Didn't blow me away but I like having an option outside of DD (blech!) and Starbucks. Price was on par with other coffee shops ($3.50 for a medium sized latte). The atmosphere is nice. There is group seating, small tables, and outdoor seating. Location is strange but the coffee shop is cozy and inviting. Points for their 'green' efforts: recycling, compost, selling pastries 1 day old instead of throwing them out. read more

I really enjoy going to Coffee Break. Having just moved to Quincy from Saint Helena, California, where I was in the land of Bouchon Bakery and Dean & Deluca, I've been searching for a great coffee and pastry place. Coffee Break is the first place in Quincy I've found to provide both. I will admit I've only had their bagels and cream cheese, but they have always been fresh and yummy. The cream cheese is expensive at first glance, but if you consider the freshness and variety in flavoring, it's definitely worth it. The flavored coffee selection is pretty extensive. I rarely, if ever, drink my coffee anyway but black and the flavors are a nice touch. Truthfully, even if you prefer your coffee with cream and sugar, you can probably stand to go without it with some of the coffees because they can be less strong and pretty sweet already. The Hyper Cafe is great, but would be considered pretty average in how strong it is when compared to other quality coffee shops. Be aware that if you head in on the weekend in the midmorning, the place will be pretty busy, but I've never had to wait too long. It's definitely a good problem to have. I've never had a negative experience with the staff, although they are sometimes brief in their interaction with people. With long lines, I don't need to have a lengthy conversation with them anyways. I have more issue with the high school (?) girls that frequent the place. Last time I went in, one threw her trash out, missed the can, swore, and left it. Really? It's not Coffee Break's fault they have rude people frequent the place, it just left a bad taste in my mouth in regards to my overall experience. My only major gripe is they pulled the Bourbon Pecan coffee really quickly. That was a great brew that was replaced with a mediocre holiday blend. Oh well, I will keep going back for one of the other many great flavors. read more

I love the coffee selections here and how they change with the seasons. It's cheap to boot. The selection is cream cheese is really awesome too. I love the buffalo chicken and the spinach artichoke flavors! The only thing I don't like is the fact that you can't really customize breakfast sammys as they are like premade ones. read more

When you walk in to this small restaurant you are reminded that you are in a historic place. The decor is low country art gallery, European bistro and the food is excellent. I had a half tuna sandwich and cup of tomato basil soup. Both were substantial portions and delicious. Easy to find, ample parking and darn good coffee too! Highly recommended. read more

I walk away disappointed every time I leave this cafe. The iced coffees are for sweet toothes. Note: My friends think I add a lot of sugar and cream to my coffee already (for reference, I like coffee like Starbucks macchiatos - that amount of sugar is right). This place is frustrating, especially if you are trying to grab a coffee before you get on the train in the morning. The product is fine except that the coffee is lukewarm. The main problem lies with the customer service skills of the girls behind the counter. They are slow in the morning often with poor attitudes and chatting and exchanging glances with one another. A high school like tone, which no one wants to start their morning with. So based on the slow, inconsiderate service this place fell out of favor quickly. read more

The coffee house is a local favorite chain in the south shore. The coffee is more on the mild flavor ie. Dunkin Donuts, but it is mostly known for its iced drinks and their "mixing" style. They actually mix it (like an alcoholic drink) so there is none of that gritty sugar taste that you often get elsewhere. OH and did I mention they use REAL ghiradelli chocolate for the "hot chocolate"! My only complaint is that they sometimes make it too light (for a coffee purist) but the girls are really good about re-making it to your liking. They use fair trade coffee and have some great flavors ie. German Coffee Cake and Toasted Coconut are my fav. FREE WI-FI, really good bagels and only coffee house I know that also sells scratch tickets! Check it out if you are in the area. read more

i just started a job in quincy, and my boss took us there on our first and second days. and boy did she make a mistake. because now i have constant cravings for it! the only bad thing about it is the fact that i don't have a car and therefore can't get there by myself and have to beg my coworkers for a ride. it's practically office policy to ask *everyone* if they want anything before going. the oreo brainfreeze is a little too sugary for me, but that's a subjective opinion. i only wish i could go more often to have a wider knowledge of what they serve! :) read more

I am addicted to Coffee Break. I love that they have so many different flavors to choose from, and it is a nice cozy place to relax with friends while enjoying a coffee. I usually go for a medium or large iced coffee, switching flavors constantly (except the past 2 months...I am stuck on Snowflake Sundae.) However, I have tried the frozen cocoa and the frozen lemonades. All are delicious. The staff are all incredibly nice and outgoing. I would suggest this place to anyone. Good cafe that I frequent because of it's close proximity to my house. The locals swear by this place mostly because most of them grew up on drinks from Coffee Break since they were kids. When you step in, the decor seems uninspired though fairly standard for a local coffee shop, I would not lounge here. The coffee here in itself is weak so if you enjoy stronger stuff, go for their "HyperCafe" brew. They offer many flavored coffee choices as well as a good selection of mixed drinks and tea. Coffee break offers frequent buyer programs like a stamp card that you can use to earn free drinks. They have limited pastries and not much more than bagels. I've tried their iced coffees before but found them to be watery and not very strong. Place is small but does have a seating area with some tables. This was my first of the Coffee Break chain that I have been to. It was really cute and cozy inside. Everyone was really nice and the service was great. They had a pretty large drink menu that looked so good it was hard to choose what to get. The iced drinks looked delicious and some of their hot seasonal drink specialties looked absolutely delicious. I grabbed a seat and chatted with a friend in the cozy little cafe for nearly 2 hours. There was a huge line the entire time I was there but most ordered their drinks and snacks and took them to go. They also offer free Wifi which is always a nice plus. All in all it was a great experience. I will definitely be going back again to try out some of their yummy looking drinks. read more

Usually I'm a Dunkin Donuts girl but my bf took me here one day and it was SO busy. There was plenty of people and they take their time making your order. It is all fresh and gourmet-ish if you say? I am satisfied with my DD for coffee, but int he summer I came here for a "craving", yum yum.
