They have a large variety of brunch options and they're all very filling. Most brunch combinations come with a drink so you can also get coffee!! Their latte is pretty good. I ordered a combo that came with eggs, salmon, avocado toast and kale. My eggs and avocado toast but good but the smoked salmon was definitely my favorite part. I'm not a big fan of kale so I won't comment on how it tasted. Definitely stop by here if you're looking for a good brunch place in the area.

The desserts (Tiramisu & Belgian Rustic Almond Kiss) were good! I'm a huge dessert fan, so anything sweet is right up my alley. That being said, I'm not a huge fan of the other stuff we ordered. The best dish was the Chicken Waterzooi, which was supposedly cooked in beer reduction, but just tasted really cheesy to me - which I'm ok with (also a huge fan of cheese). The other dishes we got were just plan disaster. The prosciutto tartine which was supposed to come with buffalo mozarella came without the cheese, and with a friendly hair on it. Not great. So we sent it back and got a new one, which tasted alright, but not good enough for the price. The stars are for their exceptional customer service though - the staff were friendly and super nice. Now they just have to get their food up to speed.

There is plenty of seating which is filled with white collared patrons from the nearby offices. The service is fast and along the lines of don't bother me and I won't bother you. Why is the restaurant named after a dog? Fret not, dog lovers, in fact the restaurant is so named…read morebecause the owner himself has a pair of adorable Chow Chows and decided that his business should so be named. Situated in a corner section of the Fung Yau Street South that is now famed for its variety of restaurants, Chow Chow boasts western dishes at local prices. The menu does change daily though you will always find a steak of some sort and the cream of mushroom soup (a must try) is always available. If the heavier items are causing issues with your waistline then there are also the choices of salads and at times, Japanese bentos (though this is not always on the menu). It has both indoor and outdoor seating whereby your four legged companions are welcomed on the outside portion. Inside it has a calm atmosphere and a huge wall-to-wall photo of the aforesaid canines of which the restaurant is named after. Service is quick but for a reason: they do ask you to return the table at a set time and this may not be to the liking of some. Also an issue is that it is a victim of its own success- getting a table on busy days (e.g. weekends) demands the patience of a saint and service quality is also suffers accordingly. Advice is to go on weekdays and enjoy the dishes which on the island will cost you double or more. Parking is limited and most patrons simply park on the side of the street, though do be prepared to run out to your pride and joy half way through your dinner as the 5-0 come knocking issuing tickets (which could put a real damper on a nice dinner).

We also got a bowl of rice each. That came to $92 at dinner time, which is reasonable for Tai Hang at dinner but also seemed a bit pricy. The confit duck leg I had was a bit dry and the waffle was pretty boring. The quinoa salad I wouldn't order again. I guess my friend gets to keep his streak of finding good restaurants. I came here for dinner, and with my friend, shared two starters: whitebait and a scotch egg, two mains: barbecue ribs and jalapeño mac and cheese, and two desserts: Banoffee pie and baked Alaska The whitebait was some pretty standard stuff, flavourful, crunchy, slightly fishy. My friend wasn't a huge fan, but I thought it was good. The scotch egg was excellent- it was lightly crusted on the outside, the egg itself still with a nice gooey yolk. The barbecue ribs were nice and tender, they literally came right off the bone, and the addition of nuts as a topic, while interpreted as pretentious by some, added a satisfying crunch to the dish. One point of criticism is that the end pieces were a tad bland- not enough sauce or garnish. The jalapeño mac and cheese stole the show that night. It was very rich and creamy, and the jalapeños added the slight acidity and heat that this dish seems to have had missing this whole time. As it turns out, I don't have to add hot sauce on my mac and cheese, I just need to add a little extra effort and put distribute a moderately spicy pepper into it. The desserts really were something to remember. The banoffee pie was had a crunchy crust, and they seem to have added a bit of peanut butter into the banana/toffee filling, allowing for a thicker consistency. It was sweet, fragrant and rich. The same can be said about the baked Alaska, which had a very rich brownie base, which went really nicely with the meringue and gelato. In the event that I'm celebrating a special occasion, I'd definitely come again. It's a nice restaurant, but it's also quite pricy.
