Barista Station

I personally don't think the drinks or food are anything to scream about at coffee bean & tea leaf in general but kind of expected for a big chain. I popped in here when flying out of terminal 7 and I got an iced matcha with almond milk and a croissant. Service was quick and organized, the employees were super friendly (props for having the patience while working at a major airport), and the space was clean and appeared to be well run! I'd definitely pop in here again flying out of LAX.

Rate 3.5 Needed a refreshing drink since we were on a road trip to visit family. I do enjoy Coffee Bean especially their iced teas ( Arnold palmers) and lattes as well. So we stopped by. Got a little treat too. By the way, I do like their ice!!

$9.45 match they can't even fill to the top.

SO SLOW!!! The people, the registers , everything is so slow. Paid $9.45 for a matcha and they couldn't even fill it to the top. Bring Starbucks to the terminal!!!

Matcha w/e this is (weak, watery, don't get)

The matcha was horrible. Barely any matcha flavor, watery. So disappointing. How hard is it to make a matcha drink that actually tastes like matcha?

Los Angeles has some of the best coffee spots. But coffee at LAX always sucks. Why? Why is that?? Since I always take an early flight, I needed some caffeine before boarding since I don't really drink juice or soda when they roll down the aisle with the drink carts. At the last minute I decided to get an iced tea latte w/oat instead of coffee. You can't go wrong with a drink like this, right? Just looking at it I knew it was not going to be good. Took one sip and it was watery like it was made with a tea bag. Also got a PB&J sandwich. The bread was not soft. Each mouthful was a whole lotta bread vs the peanut butter and jelly. I had to force myself to take a decent couple of bites so I wouldn't be hungry on my 5 hour flight home. I had to wash it down with 3-4 more sips of that nasty tea latte before dumping it in the trash. This was at Terminal 7 at LAX Worst tea latte I ever had. Here, just take my $20.

A coffee bean in the terminal, score...or so I thought. The worst coffee bean experience of my life. $8.15 wasted! The only good thing was a short wait of 5 mins or so, after that everything was downhill. The girl taking my order looked half asleep, seriously leaning on her hand, barely repeating my order back to me. I tried paying with a gift card and they don't take them. Couldn't use the app either. I got a half smirk with a head shake on that one as I was 0/2. Although drinks were coming out quickly, they mumbled my number under their breathe. After hearing numbers higher than mine, I asked for my drink and it was just sitting there. Yes the messy top one was mine. Crazy cuz I was standing right in front of the counter not to miss them calling me. Served so blistering hot, I couldn't drink it for 20 minutes and even then it still burn my tongue. Upon finally being able to drink what I ordered, it was just blah and the lid smelled like mildew. Not wasting money at this location again.

Airport coffee. Very yummy. Prices pretty expensive though for just an iced coffee. But hey, beggars can't be choosers in a terminal

I was happy to see there was a specialty coffee shop close by my terminal since I wasn't in the mood for my usual black coffee. But this is the first specialty coffee shop I've ever been to where there were employees that just didn't seem to like their job. So let's begin. My review is based on my experience on 9/5/2023 approximately at 1400. Tucked away in Terminal 5 is where you will find The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. This is a small coffee shop, clean in appearance, with a spacious waiting line area. The line wasn't too long and moved at a fair pace. My first employee contact was pleasant. A young gentleman helped me select my order, a hot cookie latte regular size. He was helpful and friendly. I waited on the side for my drink to be made with the other eager customers. My drink was called out, but I noticed very quickly that my order was wrong since it was an iced drink instead of a hot drink. I brought it to the Barista's attention, but she didn't apologize or tell me a new drink would be made. She just left with without saying a word. Then shortly after another Barissta approached the counter. She didn't ask me if there was an issue with my order or say hello or even greet me. She just stood there. So I tried to explain to her my order was wrong. She asked for my receipt, which I provided and confirmed I ordered a hot drink. She took the drink back without saying another word, no apology, and not even telling me if she would remake my drink. So this was terrible customer service twice in a row under 5 minutes. I would mention the 2 barristas names, but the 2 young ladies did not have visible name tags. So my drink finally comes out and the young lady leaves it on the counter for me, still with no apology for their mistake. So I could've let this go as we all have our days when we don't feel so awesome at our jobs, but my drink was absolutely terrible. It tasted nothing like cookie butter, and I don't think she even used oatmilk or it was maybe spoiled. Something just wasn't right as it had a very strong bitter taste. And I am not talking about coffee bitter taste (I also enjoy drinking my coffee black). This tasted like a mixture gone wrong. So I head back to the coffee shop and speak with the lady manager. I didn't get her name, but informed her of my experience. She offered me a replacement drink. And if I didn't like it, she would give me a refund. She also told me she would make the drink personally. I agreed to her terms. She made my replacement drink, which I chose a macchiato with oatmilk instead. She made my drink as promised, had me taste test it, apologized, and sent me on my sorta merry way. I didn't catch the manager's name, but I was grateful for how she handled the situation. The price of my drink ofc was expensive as expected for a business locted inside the airport. The cost of my original drink was $9.47. From reading other reviews, it seems like I wasn't the only one who experienced terrible customer service at this location. I hope the manager sees this review and has a talk with her staff, in particular the barristas that were working that day, regarding customer service and the power of a simple smile. Smiling is such a small gesture with a huge positive impact. And an apology for making a mistake wouldn't hurt either. I don't know if my drink tasting terrible was an isolated incident. So my only tip is to try your drink before you leave the pick up counter.

Yes, I waited in the seemingly endless line to get a large sugar free vanilla almond milk latte. How to tell someone who needs their coffee? I had already bought coffee at the food court but it was horrible, so I needed my fix! The line moved quicker than expected maybe because several people left the line?) Nevertheless the staff was friendly and accommodating. They have dairy free options, sugar-free syrup options. My order came quickly. The coffee was delicious! If you have the time, it's worth the wait.

Service was quick and the server was friendly. Brewed coffee has a nice flavor and is not burnt. Green tea is ice cold and good flavor.

Avoid at all costs. They lost my order and got angry at me about it. There's plenty of other good coffee in the United Terminal.

One of the first things I noticed is that their tv screen menu only showed photos of the drinks and didn't have the price listings. Nevertheless despite not having the prices listed, it was nice to be able to have a visual of what their drinks looked like. It was the Pink Perks Iced Coffee that caught my eye. I couldn't help noticing the pretty in pink drink and the barista described it to me as a strawberry latte. I found the Pink Perks Iced Coffee to be refreshing drink. It had just the right coffee flavor with a hint of strawberry. I was hoping for a bit more strawberry sweetness but it was still nonetheless a good drink. Overall I was happy to visit and discover this little coffee shop.

It's a cute spot located in a nice area, but...Let's jump right into this review…read more Tera Coffee is a family-run spot for freshly brewed specialty coffees like Vietnamese java, plus teas and boba drinks. What did we have - X2 Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade - $5.27 - You have the option to adjust the sweet level (low, medium, extra). There is an additional charge if you want to add boba. Pros 1. Adorable inside. 2. Variety of menu options. 3. Prices are reasonable. Cons 1. Customer service - blah. Aflac employee, no smile, no hi, nothing. Took our order and made the drinks. No communication at all during this experience. #awkward 2. Drinks are on the sweet side even when ordering the medium sweet level which is what is recommended. Would I recommend - maybe (on the fence), if you live/work in the area, pull up. The employee wasn't rude just lack people/social skills but that's my 2 cents and a nickel opinion.
