I was excited to see that Urth Cafe was here and made sure I had enough time to grab my favorite Pistachio latte... Unfortunately, they don't have that here but my Oat Milk latte was still very good at $12.00! The staff are very friendly and my latte was ready in a reasonable time. The line moves quickly here which was also good. There are plenty of tables and wooden benches to park yourself while waiting for your flight. On a previous trip, I brought a burrito through security and ended up having it inspected--which wasn't ideal--so this time I decided to just wait and grab food after clearing TSA. On a Sunday morning the line moved fast! I was so happy to see that they had the chicken yellow curry sandwich available and it was delicious. So much flavor and the bread was so soft. They asked me if I wanted it heated up and I said yes! Which was a good choice. The cashier was so sweet and friendly so that made it a pleasant reaction. Every time I have a flight and I am in terminal 1, Urth caffe is where I get breakfast. the area has lots of seating, fresh fruit, yogurt, grab and go items, water, bougie water, Pierre mineral water and a decent menu so it feels like you're in your local Urth caffe. I've always seen the hype with Urth Cafe, with the wide variety of sweet pastries, savory dishes, and of course all of the drinks that they have available. I could never justify going to Pasadena to try out their stuff in person, but since I was at LAX for a couple hours and needed a spot to sit down and work, this was a perfect time to try something out. Since it was around Memorial Day weekend, there was a discount to mobile order from various eateries and businesses in LAX, so I did that. They gave me a confirmation text and receipt via email with a time estimate to pick up my drink order. I go to the location, sit down, connect to the Wi-Fi and start working. It was the middle of the day with no spill, but they were watering the ground and mopping up. Lots of people ordering in person and some people not getting their drinks in a timely manner or needing to make some changes from what I saw. I saw it was around the estimated time of pick up for my drink and noticed that they didn't seem to have made it yet, but for the benefit of the doubt, I waited around 5 more minutes before checking in with them. When I inquired about my drink and showed them the confirmation email, apparently it either didn't go through their POS system or it was not notified. The worker there had to get the number for my order and then put it in. My drink came out much more quickly than the estimated time it told me to pick it up. I got their Rising Sun Matcha Latte which is their organic matcha with espresso and dark chocolate. I got this with their standard nonfat milk and regular matcha with less ice. No taste of the matcha or dark chocolate in my drink and it was overpowered by the espresso. Either I'm too sensitive to it (unclear as I'm a caffeine fiend), or it wasn't ratio-ed quite the best. It worked for waking me up, but it wasn't the most pleasant drink. I'll give an actual physical Urth Cafe location a try in the future, but there's many more options in LAX. read more

I found my favorite Spanish Latte a bit steep at $7.65 for a medium, so I opted for their Coffee of the Day with a shot of hazelnut, which still came to $6. Taste-wise, the coffee was okay, but I could barely detect the hazelnut flavor, which was disappointing. Considering the extra shot cost about $1, not being able to taste it felt like a letdown. Overall, I'm happy to see Urth Cafe at the airport, but this location is definitely not my favorite. read more

Whenever I have time before a Southwest flight out of Terminal 1 at LAX, I try to make it a point to stop by Urth Caffé & Bar. It's a great spot for a pre-flight treat, and on my most recent visit, I went with a large Green Tea Latte. Let me tell you - it was absolutely amazing! Smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. BUT: That said, Urth Caffé is already pricey, and when you add in the airport markup, it jumps to a whole new level. My latte rang up at $10.24 with tax...I had to laugh so I didn't cry (kidding... mostly). On this particular visit, I was heading back to Buffalo for the Bills vs. Ravens playoff game and had some fun banter with Sheree S., an employee and Eagles fan. So...Just for this weekend only...Fly Eagles Fly! Anyway...If you're looking for an upscale treat yo'self moment before your flight, Urth Caffé is a solid choice. What a welcome sight on our arrival to LAX. Interesting set of menu! Ordered tuna sandwich, Rising sun macha latte and mocha latte. Order was fast and there was plenty of seats even with the long line. The tuna was good but it was $19 plus tax, about $21 and some change. I've have seen this business several times over the years but I'm glad that I stopped to get some iced coffee. I decided to try the mint mocha iced coffee. It was delicious and has a milk shake consistency with chocolate shavings and mint flavor. The staff is great and friendly with quick service. I stopped in before my return flight to Vegas in the southwest gates. Unfortunately they were out of many things so I got a tuna melt and a danish. The tuna salad had a touch of lemon and was lightly coated providing a nice texture for the toasted bread. Service was prompt but nothing special, the barista area could have used a little clean up but I understand they were busy. Yelp Review 2023 #201: It's hard to find decent food at airports anywhere. It's always fried fast-food, pizza, sub sandwiches, pretzels, cinnamon rolls, and the like. Urth Caffe has pretty good soups, salads, pizzas, sandwiches, fresh juices, smoothies, desserts, etc. This particular Urth Caffe inside Terminal 1 at LAX doesn't have the full menu so, don't expect a lot. They definitely don't have pizzas here. They have a few salads, a few sandwiches, cookies, cakes, teas, smoothies, and juices. They didn't have Diablo Panini when we went here and that's what we wanted. But a Pesto Chicken Panini is a good plan B. I wasn't feeling too great so, it's nice to have hot tea to drink while at the airport. We tried the Tiramisu Cheesecake - not the best tiramisu nor cheesecake. You can skip and get a cookie instead. We had an hour before our flight and have TSA Pre-check so, we weren't in a rush. Our food was ready in about 10-15 minutes after ordering. It's ridiculous to give bad reviews of this place (or any other for that matter) because the prices are high. You can the see prices before ordering so if you don't like them go somewhere else, or bring your own food. My problem with this place is that every time I come, which is every month, they are almost always sold out of their signature, the Urth salad. I go out of my way to come here, because I fly American out of terminal 4 or 5, but the long walk and back is my exercise for the day. This never is an issue at their regular locations. The Caravan salad is a decent replacement, but today they only had one remaining at 12:30 PM. Why would you go to the expense of opening up an airport location and then consistently be out of your signature salad, month after month? Another thing I don't like is the salads are left out in the open nest the cash register for people to handle, so no telling how many folks handle the packaging, decide they don't want it, and put it back. I'll be back again in a month at around noon or 1 PM. I plan on updating this review at that time. Management please take notice. I do love your food, and always have great experiences at the Hollywood and BH locations. I hope to enjoy the delicious Urth salad. read more

I got a blended green tea latte which for the non-Urth regulars means it's like a Starbucks Frappuccino so it's a thicker icy/smoothie-like consistency.
