Cody's Appliance Repair is a local treasure! Seriously. We had a need for a repair to our LG washer in the midst of Covid19 Stay-at-Home Order. We were relieved to learn that appliance repair is considered an essential service; I agree, the ability to laundry is essential! Plus I like doing laundry. We left a message on both their Yelp page and their website over the weekend and first thing Monday morning; 7:29a, to be exact, I got the promised call and I was told Dr. Adam would be arriving no later than 8:30. The dispatcher told me all the things the technician will do to keep us healthy; gloves, wipe down, masks, foot coverings, etc and also confirmed we were without Covid symptoms and that we agreed to stay out the area while the technician was in our home. Just as promised, Adam arrived on time and he got straight to work. He quickly identified the problem; repair the faulty part and was on his way inside 45 minutes! Wow! He was able to process an electronic invoice and accept electronic payments! A contact-less transaction all around! They came out because our 2 year old washer wouldn't turn on. We loved his honesty when he told us that we should just replace it rather than spending the money to fix it. We were able to get a new one for less than the repair would have been. read more

This company is excellent on all fronts. I called them to check out a concern that our tenant reported concerning their gas oven. An appointment was scheduled the very next business day, the oven was examined and although no issues were found, the technician walked me through all the possible things that could have resulted in this service call. Yes, I still had to pay for the service call - but to have a true professional assess the situation, report back to me in a timely manner and communicate in plain terms, made me feel that the money was well worth it. read more

Andy H. Came and did a great job! We moved into a house and found that the dryer left behind wasn't functioning at all. It was between calling appliance repair and just saving the money for a new dryer. Andy told us the part was no longer available for replacement, but was able to solder a part on the electronic board and it worked again! While he was there he blew out the dryer vent and gave us tips for maintaining our appliances. Thanks Andy! read more

I need to change my profession. Apparently appliance repair is highly lucrative. I called with issues for both my stove and my dishwasher. They have separate house call charges for each. Of course if they can repair your appliance the cost of the repair is deducted from the house call charge. Unfortunately, if they can't you're on hook - as I was. $250 later to replace one $35 part. Ouch. I won't make that mistake again! read more

I love doing laundry. No kidding. So, being only slightly less attached to my Neptune washer and dryer of going on 18 years (of perfect performance) than I am to my hubby of going on 38 years (of maybe a little less perfect performance), my heart cracked when the washer wouldn't drain properly. I am not ready to replace this machine. (There are "those" days when I am ready to replace my hubby.) Hopeful we might be able to repair whatever was amiss with the washer to gain benefit of a few more years of spiffy clean laundry at a cost that would prove in the repair and not come out at need to replace, we called Cody's and specifically asked if we could schedule Zach to take a look. We're sure all the Cody's folks at top notch, but Zach is the guy who successfully did the complex troubleshooting on our new Subzero freezer and also our new Wolf range to fix problems with them. (There is a reason SubZ and Wolf use Cody's as their authorized warranty service folks. They know what they're doing and they provide top notch customer service.) Once again, the nice people at Cody's scheduling made it easy to make an appointment. And once again Zach saved the day. He diagnosed the likely root cause of the draining snafu quickly, disassembled the machine to get access to the pump he correctly surmised to be cause and since he had the right part in his truck he could replace it immediately if we chose to do that. Hubby and I were in agreement the cost to repair was worth it for sure and Zach was able to have the washer back in working order in short order. In less than two hours from the time his truck rolled into our driveway, the washer was ready to run again. I listen to my washer as I type this and think good thoughts of Cody's. If I had an appliance in need of a tune up, there is no other service I'd call. I wonder if they work on recalcitrant husband's? read more

I broke my wash machine on Sunday. I called Cody's on Monday morning and Adam came over to do the repairs on Tuesday afternoon which was great because it was right before Thanksgiving and I needed to do laundry. Adam was very professional and fixed my washer and dryer (old issue) quickly and cleaned all the vents as well. He showed me how to take care of the appliances so they would last longer (e.g how to clean them and what types of products to use). He left a water alarm and gave me some free detergent samples. We've been very happy with Cody's! Unfortunately we had to replace to of our LG appliances, they were completely dead. ‍‍ Cody's customer service is professional and timely. I highly recommend Cody's but I don't recommend LG appliances, they were only seven years old. read more

My recent batting average on repair services is pretty grim, and my expectations were low. That said, they needn't have been. In very short order, after scheduling an appointment via Cody's Appliance Repair website (easy process), I got confirmation. Great communication. Matt arrived just when he said that he would. In less than 15", our gas fireplace was fixed. Last year, we used another business to have it repaired and got an unhelpful run-around. Then we tried to schedule an appointment with a second business that wanted to charge and exorbitant amount, just to show up. Wish we would have known about Cody's a long time ago. Responding quickly, showing up promptly, drawing from experience with skill and expertise, and handily fixing it, we were charged only about 1/3 of what the competitors wanted to charge. Going forward, Cody's Appliance Repair will be our go-to for any repairs needed. What a relief to find them! read more

If you are looking for any appliance repair, Cody's is THE place in the Treasure Valley. Zach has been out twice for different problems and his honesty and integrity area above reproach. I see people complaining about the service call cost. You have to remember that the $99 is rolled into the repair cost. If you elect not to have it repaired or it is not repairable, the time they take to diagnose the issue is worth the $99. The prices are reasonable and they never try to sell you something that is not needed. Zach actually soldered a faulty connection on our dishwasher when he could have easily sold us a new circuit board. How would we know. I am beyond impressed with Cody's and will use them exclusively in the future. read more

When I called I was told the service call will be 99 dollars if no repair was done. Technician estimated he cost of repair to be higher than new fridge so I declined repair. He charged me 45 dollars more that quoted 99 dollars. Be aware that 99 dollars is a charge to put foot in your door, if there is any diagnostic done cost is way higher. 3 stars due to rapid response and being on time. I needed my gas fireplace serviced and had an appt scheduled for Feb. This last Monday I received a call from the Scheduling dept and was advised they had a cancellation and would I like the appt. They told me the name of the Technician (Matt P.) and gave me the time frame. Matt called me when he was on the way , arrived on time and was very respectful, answered all of my questions, and was thorough in the cleanup. Denise gets it! If I could, I would leave zero stars as well. Let me ask you, do you install a part without quoting the customer, because you assume their insurance will cover it? Then months later, when you realize, this is not covered by the customer's insurance, demand payment from the customer? When it was your fault that you didn't get all your ducks squared away in the first place? Apparently, cody's appliance thinks this is a great business technique! If you are going to run a business, you should understand how a transaction goes. You pay for a service, we did pay the service fee, and then you are quoted appropriately. You don't fix a part in a washer, close the transaction, then when you realize YOU messed up, demand more payment. By the way, anyone posting here should know, if cody has your personal number, they will call you after your accurate review. Then text you paragraphs because they are sad you gave them a bad review. I like to get my dryer serviced yearly because I have a couple friends whose homes burnt down from a faulty dryer. My dryer is a couple years old so I went on Yelp to get a quote. The owner immediately responded. I end up using their service and was glad I did. Cody Appliance did everything they said they were going to do. They were on time and they called just before they came. The service man Robert was knowledgeable and walked me through the process and gave me some education on servicing my dryer for the future. I enjoyed how Robert covered his shoes with shoe booties before he entered my home. I highly recommend this company! read more

Absolutely amazing on all fronts. Thermador dishwasher died on a Friday night and gave a fault code. Called first thing Saturday morning and gave the receptionist the story, booked me for Monday morning first thing. Robert showed up in the window after calling ahead of time and was polite and respectful of our home and space. Got right to it and within 15 minutes diagnosed the problem and was finished and out the door in less than one hour. At VERY good rates too which is something I was sweating given it being a Thermador. Could not be happier with the service from Cody's. read more

I am so glad I found Cody's. A flood in part of the cellar resulted in our chest freezer dying. I called a competitor first, and they came out and said -- yup: dead. [Insert several days of panic, trying to find places to move the food so it didn't spoil.] This is during COVID-19 and there are no freezers available to buy at any store we checked with. Fortunately, we decided to get a "second opinion" and called Cody's. Ian S. arrived when scheduled -- and fixed it! He explained exactly where the problem had been and what he'd done to resolve it. Our dryer broke and we have 4 kids. The first repair place I called didn't have any availability for two weeks! I called Cody's and they gave me an appt just 3 days out. What a pleasant surprise when they called me the very next day (a Saturday) and asked if I'd like to move my appointment up to that day! The Cody's repair man walked in the front door and into our kitchen, took one look at the our Maytag refrigerator and indicated that we needed a new computer board. The price he quoted was $318.00. I looked on-line and the price for the part is $65.00. In addition, he charged me at $74.95 service call charge for about 30 seconds of work. In addition, he wanted 3% to use a credit card (which by the way is almost double what their merchant services account is charging them). Needless to say, I will not be using Cody's to repair my refrigerator and would not recommend them to anyone. In today's economy, places like Cody's and their repair people should be happy to just have a job without trying to take advantage! read more

After doing our own self diagnosis on on our Whirlpool sport washer with the manual (checking the trap,etc.) we still had problems running a load on any setting other than delicate. The Cody repair man came out and we explained the situation to him. He decided to check the trap. We told him we did that, and the problem still existed. He removed items out of the trap, said the problem was fixed and charged us $80. To check that the problem was fixed the Cody's rep. would have had to stay around 15 minutes through a normal cycle, which he did not. The problem still exists and we are out $80. When talking to the owner, she said the rep gave us extra benefits by not charging us for cleaning out the trap. The experience was so unpleasant we refused to have the rep come back out and the owner refused to refund our money. If this is the kind of experience you want when you need your appliance repaired, see Cody's. I would highly recommend going elsewhere. read more
