This is the same business as the yelp listed "codori's house of gifts," but I've never seen it referred to as a "house of gifts," and frankly I feel the ladies who run the place would find this subtitle insulting. It is sort of hoity toity. This is not necessarily a bad thing...but I would love to see their faces if they knew they were called "house of gifts." I realize I may be the only person amused by this...
If you're in the 'burg and looking for a neat gift, Codori's is one of the many jewelry and assorted accoutrement stores for you to peruse. It is sort of cramped, so I don't recommend taking kids in there, as things tend to run on the expensive and breakable side.
This is my favorite place to buy amber, b/c they have an excellent selection and it is, for the most part, moderately priced. I probably buy a piece every two months. They also sell a range of other semi precious stone and silver pieces, as well as Italian glass and a few ceramic pieces.
They have lots of obscure and often expensive toys. Anything from chess sets to Russian nesting dolls to life size 75$ stuffed white tigers. Strange little knick knacks made out of glass. Nothing kitchsy, but I am always reminded of my grandma when I go in there--not because things smell like moth balls, but because there is simply so much in such a small space. Ok, maybe the moth balls too...
Codori's is an experience, and I think big city visitors will be surprised by it. read more
