I came here to get a nice Gettysburg cap. Emma helped me with all my purchases. I bought a few big candles too. I also got a handmade wooden cat to put on Annie's fur (my cat). I will keep her memory in the little wooden cat. The store carries a lot of exciting handcrafts and candles. I recommend those big candles because they have the nicest scents and are perfectly made to last a long time. Also, the caps are made with great fabric, not cheaply made. I'm a cap collector, so the fabric and how caps stay on me make a difference. There are other items that I was thinking of getting, but that's next time. I'll ask Hubby to take me back here when we return to Gettysburg. The store was also very clean. I loved the store! Recommended. read more

My family visits Gettysburg a lot and we love it so much. However, Gallery 30 will never get business from us again. Believe the reviews you see when they tell you you're being watched. I understand their concern of not wanting things broken or stolen, but falsely accusing me and my sister of stealing a $7 item we were looking at for 30 seconds goes too far. My dad went back in to talk to them about it and all that they gave him was sarcasm and childish remarks. Just beware when you go in. They will not take their eyes off of you once. Learn how to run a business, THEN open one. read more

8/2/2024 we visited this store with my family. I as well as my entire family was watched every move we made. My wife noticed the same treatment. We left and waited outside when one of the clerks said to my son in law, where are the cards his daughter was holding accusing her of theft. The clerk looked and said oh there they are. My son in law went back in and talked to the clerk only to say that's her job. All she had to do was apologize to him for her accusation. If you want to feel guilty go to this store where the clerks watch every step you make and act like the Secret Service. Shame on this clerk for no apology of her ignorance. I would post no stars for this establishment but you can't. read more

This store is the worst. Overpriced and staff is as unfriendly as they get . Whatever you do , don't bring a child into the store . The woman working there treated my child like they were criminals . We stopped in while walking in downtown. What a beautiful store! They have everything from jewelry, clothing, picture frames, gourds that are carved into decorations such as pumpkins, ghosts, birdhouses etc. I'm assuming they have gourds for every time of year and season. My wife found a couple of Christmas gifts for family and had to make herself stop so she can make sure it fits in her suitcase for the flights home. We also learned their items can be found on their website and they ship all around the world. A really cool place to stop in and check out. read more

Gallery 30 used to be a loved gallery in town but the present Owners strange obsession with painted gourds has ruined the gallery. What is up with the gourds?? ‍ Besides the gourds, the place is crammed with too much merchandise... so much it is hardly an art gallery experience anymore. It feels like a tourist trap now. This store is full of cute treasures handcrafted by artists. Generally everything is made in the US. The sourcing of the art they have on show makes the browsing experience very fun to walk around and view the place. There's a lot going on, but in a good way to take it all in! There's so many cute seasonal items, and fun household or even gift items to check out. The staff is very friendly. It was nice to walk through such a fun shop that wasn't a complete tourist trap! read more

Out of all the artsy shops in downtown Gettysburg, I think I was most impressed with this one. They have such a HUGE variety, and all of it (or almost all) is handmade. The gourds were especially fun to look at -- literally a decorative gourd for every holiday and occasion! The shop also carries unique jewelry pieces, gloves and mittens, and even some wood working. The best part: most of it is pretty reasonably priced! Would definitely stop by here just to look around if you have some spare time, or if you are looking for a unique gift. read more

Recently went shopping here with a family member. I had been once before and was excited to go back. Unfortunately the second experience has soured my desire to ever return. My mom was having a hard time deciding on which color of a product to buy. One of the employees, a saleswoman in a faux fur hat, took issue and approached us from behind and gruffly asked if something was wrong with the merchandise. When my mother communicated she was deciding which one to buy, the employee gave us a not-so-kind look and walked away. She then went over to the other two women who were working there and pointed us out to her co-workers, one of whom stared at us in a way that made it clear we were being suspected of shoplifting. If that wasn't enough, a few minutes later when we were standing in the same spot I happened to catch the same employee in the fur hat staring at us as she mouthed "Oh my God", clearly ticked off that we hadn't reached a decision. I'm not sure why it bothered her so much, especially since we weren't pestering her or disturbing any of the other customers. We almost walked out without buying anything because of how it made us feel. I tried to be kind at the checkout but being suspected of stealing festered all day and I felt the need to leave a review. This store has a "No Returns" policy, so I don't think it's unreasonable for a customer to make sure they like what they're buying since they're gonna be stuck with it. After leaving the store, we spent a good chunk of the day shopping at other boutiques in Gettysburg and had nothing but wonderful customer service experiences, it's a shame this one was so rotten. read more

This place has seen more reinventions than Madonna. I like the space a lot, it is a store, but also a de facto gallery, as you can go in a browse local artist's efforts without being bothered (too much) to buy any of it. The inventory ranges from funky and awesome to frumpy, weird, and waaaay overpriced. I generally pop in for gifts when I don't have the time to drive out to Route 5, or when I can't find what I want at Codori's. They always have some interesting jewelry. They also have a lot of pottery and textiles. Almost all of the art is out of my price range, but I like to buy photo prints when I can. They also sell books, but they're all list price or more, and even though I feel bad not supporting small, local business, I always buy my books from Amazon. One of the past owners had two white yorkie dogs that were the sweetest creatures on earth. They would follow me around the store and sit in my lap if I sat down to read. Sadly, they are gone. This place started as a showcase for local talent, and in the last couple of years it has tried to cater to a clientele that Gettysburg simply does not have. In the last year, however, they do seem to have gotten back to their roots, which is to say selling unique pieces you'd never seen anywhere else for a decent price. I've marked it as "pricey", but it is possible to spend 30$ or less on a nice piece of jewelry. read more

We stayed nearby on a recent trip the real purpose of which was to visit Amish farms in Lancaster County...where the tour buses and crowds don't go, to the actual farms, not the "farmers market," to buy organic goods at the source. Wife saw the gourds displayed outside here and wanted to take a look. Very unique--each one--hand crafted. We brought home two bags full! One arrangement we put together was a bowl with "fruit" individually priced. Then she got two large gourd bird feeders. She's happy, and that's what matters! What distinguishes this "gift store" from others is that most items carried are unique, not "mass produced," so for this reason, it seems to be in a category of its own. It also has a selection of books, but despite the name, that does not seem to be the primary draw. Street parking only. Meters are 25 cents for 15 minutes IF you can find a spot. They even meter the designated handicapped spaces on the traffic circle. They monitor 8AM to 8PM, Monday-Saturday, so allow for plenty of shopping time. read more

My family shops here for all of our Christmas gifts and the quality is superior to box stores in every way possible. I have seen people complain about the price but you need to be realistic about what your expectations are for a custom shop. The products are almost all made in America and of the highest quality materials. I would tell the owner don't change a thing because quality is not something that's negotiable ever. read more

Very nice shop with a lot of great things and unique items for Christmas gifts. I went to the Christmas festival with my family and friends and it was amazing this year.The staff was very friendly and helpful in every way possible and that added to the whole experience. The only issue I have is the parking space out front being blocked for display items was inappropriate since disabled people need those spots badly. Please try to address this problem and be accommodating. I would visit the store again and recommend to everyone visiting Gettysburg. read more

My parents have been on a 3 week RV trip to the North East. We are from Missouri, my in laws are from Gettysburg area and have moved here to be with our family. Every visit my mother in law goes to Gallery 30, and spends a pretty penny. In fact we were just there in May and she bought a couple of pieces of art. So my mom hears about our shopping and wanted to visit. They made a detour on their way home JUST to visit this shop! My dad had to drop my mom off and circle due to no parking for the RV. While my mom was inside she was so excited to see all the gourds (she decorates for Fall in 3 phases) she face timed my sister to show her everything (would be rude to take pictures right?). While she was talking and showing her things (adding to her pile on the counter the OWNER told her she needed to put her phone away, she was too loud. My mom was completely embarrassed and couldn't believe how she was treated. She stopped her shopping and checked out. Went to stand outside and wait for my dad. The lady came out and put her hand on her shoulder and said "we appreciate your business." My mom replied "you really hurt me." I was so upset when my sister called me, I called the store, talked to a girl named Kathy and explained to her that I felt so sorry for my mom to have been treated that way, it was unbelievable that a shop we raved about turned out to be a huge embarrassment. I asked for it to be passed on to the owner (not knowing it was owner), I also said I would be sharing on social media about this experience. A minute later I get a call from a lady who when I answered "Hello?" Responds with "I hear you aren't happy with us." I couldn't get a words in with this lady, I ended up even yelling "shut your mouth so I can talk!" She kept running her mouth. My mom called me, not knowing I called, and she was crying uncontrollably. She said she felt like they treated her like trash. It made me so sad. So after hearing our mom so upset my sister called back! The owner said "This is Gallery 30, and we play classical music." Seriously? My sister asked her to call and apologize and she refused. My mother in law is so embarrassed and sickened by this! We recommended my parents go visit the shop and now we want everyone to stay away! read more

On my last visit over Memorial Day, I was heartbroken to see that Gallery 30, once our must-visit gift and book store that we have been visiting for over 20 years, has now become.... well it's hard to say what it is. They have knocked down walls to make one big room now. When we walked in there was classical orchestral music playing so loud that it hurt my ears, already not welcoming, and the jewelry counters now consume the entire center of the whole store - over lit and over staffed. Where there once were charming racks of books of all kinds, we found only one tiny rack of books hidden in almost an alcove in the back - and this rack had only children's books on it. The selection of greeting cards was strangely unsettling - I can usually find a card to love - not here. What you can't miss is that the store has been massively taken over by PAINTED GOURDS. I'm saying that there are now walls and walls of tacky painted hanging gourds, and big boxes and bins of painted gourds. It's creepy and strange. It really takes any charm away from a painted gourd to see 1,200 at one time. Also they now only have textiles in "authentic" civil war period colors and styles, meaning they are in wan, washed-out, colors (like shades of natural tea dye) and very basic woven, "old-time" styles. Someone might really dig this - not me. They still have the "recycled sweater" handmade hats and mittens, but this artisan seems to be the only one featured - there are way too many of these, and it's May! They had tables covered with folded t-shirts with slogans like "tolerance" or "acceptance," but they were mass-made and mass-marketed. Creepy, not charming. In sum - a delightful, independent bookstore and gift shop has been taken over by... I don't know what - a civil-war themed Halloween shop? It's summer, people, we do not need Halloween supplies nor winter hats. And the piped-in spice-smell doesn't help. What a terrible shame.... I hope someone else takes on the mantle of independent bookstore ownership in Gettysburg. read more

We loved visiting this store on our last visit to Gettysburg in July 2016. We purchased a lovely framed photograph of the battlefield. There are so many interesting things to look at here. Lots of crafts and items made in PA. We look forward to visiting later this week. read more

While visiting town center today I specifically went into this store to look at and purchase troll beads. Despite no less than 8 women behind the jewelry counters and no other customers, not one offered to assist me and looked at me like I was from another planet! Was very disappointed in their clearly less than welcoming atmosphere for customers. Will purchase my beads at my local bead store where they aren't too busy to help me! read more

This was my favorite retail shop in Gettysburg. I should mention I am more excited by handmade arts and crafty things than by military regalia and war artifacts. This definitely strikes me as the type of shop the wives might visit while their husbands are out watching civil war reenactments. They sell art, books, jewelry, troll beads, toys, and lots and lots of locally grown handcrafted gourds. I've never even considered owning one before, but after viewing their extensive collection I couldn't help but think they were actually quite cool. I didn't but one then, but will likely check out their site and order some for fall decorating. The staff was great, even putting up with my daughter, who was doing her best to act like a spoiled tyrant. They have an awesome selection of troll-beads, even one made just for Gettysburg. read more

They have really nice and unique stuff. What stinks is how they treat you. Following you around, hiding behind things, and if your disabled be prepared to be humiliated. I witnessed a young man who was clearly disabled like he didn't belong there. I took my money else where. Oh, but be pleased you can bring your dog in a carrier. Honestly, this place is very expensive. Nice store and nice variety but my $22 medium mason jar candle (jasmine) hardly smells and their gloves are ridiculously priced. They have beautiful linens and canvas rugs- but you will pay heavily - yet they are quality. But other misc. stuff just so very pricey for what it is. They are also gourd crazy. A must visit store. At least they updated and didn't disappear like Barnes and Noble. My wife loves their jewelry and we having been purchasing jewelry from them for the past 4 years. Always helpful sales folks which makes it a nice experience. I'm Anglo and my wife's Latin and as much as she enjoys their merchandise, salespeople and their inventory, I like it even more........ We also shop online which you will also find a very enjoyable experience. Free gift wrapping is also a nice touch. read more

This place is so magical. We've bought their gourds online after visiting Gettysburg on vacation and their service has been wonderful. Their shipping is not expensive either. To those who complain that their prices are expensive, I think that they don't realize that they are not mass-produced but real artisanal products that you treasure. And not made in China. Also, I think that the person who felt stalked by the salesperson might unfortunately be a little paranoid. The salesperson also closely followed us around but I think was just wanting to help. When I wrote that I was going to turn a candy dish into a light, they did it for me, and I was so surprised when it arrived. We love this store all the way from California. Love the gourds and purchased a small Gourd Cat with cutout design. as well as a piece of jewelery.
