There was a beautiful crystal accented wedding gown for a price of 39$ before the discount. Pretty amazing if you're a size 6 and in need- to get a gorgeous gown for less than 20$! I found a couple things there and it was fun. The place is run by a church and is very small. They have outdoor items under a metal canopy- I kinda forgot to look there. The building itself looks very dumpy but don't let that stop you from checking out the store.

When I tried to put a down payment on my layaway account, a new associate, with very little training, incorrectly entered the wrong amount on my account. With that said, I decided to handle business elsewhere. When I came back to "The Horse Soldier," another associate refused to accept my $200.00 down payment causing me to ask for the store manager. When the store manager arrived at the scene, she also refused to accept my $200.00 down payment on my account. She accused me of being rude to her new associate because I told the associate - politely that he did not know his job and the associate responded stating that he was trained briefly and forgot how to ring up a deposit on a layaway account. Interestingly, the new associate just stood there watching me being disrespected and never said a word to defend me as the store manager and owner argued and yelled at me. The store manager wanted me to apologize to the associate, but I refused because the new associate admitted that he did not know his job. When the owner of this establishment also arrived at the scene, he was very upset with me. Both the store manager and owner yelled at me, treating me like I didn't matter. They both wanted me to apologize to the new associate or leave and never come back. The owner had a $1,500.00 refund check written out and told me to get out and never come back. I deserve better than that and you can see how "The Horse Soldier" treats their loyal customers. Everyone who walks through their doors deserves respect, but this is how they treat people. They gave me proof that they did not see me as a person. I just wanted to walk out of "The Horse Soldier" feeling human. NOTE: I was a good customer with the owner SPENDING OVER $20,000.00 at "The Horse Soldier" and this is how they treat their loyal customers. There is an old saying, "You can always tell someone's character by the way they (store manager and owner) treat those they don't need to treat well." LAST WORDS I am a retired Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army, Military Police Officer with 34 1/2 years of military service. Currently, I am a Commissioned License Investigator by the Superior Court of Cumberland County and licensed, via Clerk of Criminal Courts for over 26 years. The owner and store manager belittled my character, yelled and humiliated me with disrespect. Those actions were inappropriate.
