I used to live in San Francisco and frequented CODE salon for my cuts. This was my first time back since moving 3 + years ago and my first post-COVID visit. It was also my first hair cut post-partum. I live in Colorado and was really excited to get my hair cut at CODE again. I saw Danny for the first time and he was great. I have long, thick hair and even though I wanted to keep it long and just refresh my layers, he was very thoughtful and took his time. I always think that a sign of a good cut is how it looks when you're home and washing/styling your hair on your own, and I love the cut. It looks great when I air dry it or style it. I would definitely recommend Danny and will be back to CODE the next time I'm in town. My only feedback is that you can hear the chatter in the breakroom from the wash stations. Very good , professional service but when I had to cancel my appointment because I didn't feel well and my Covid 19 test came back positive, I thought they will be more understanding and they won't charge my full price for cancelation. In that hard times it's important to support each other . I respect time of the hairdressers and was more than happy to pay half of the price . But they charged me full because of their 24 hour cancellation policy . I hope it won't stop people from canceling appt - to not put in danger other costumers / members of the stuff just because salon will charge you full price no matter what. I got my hair cut this past Wednesday by Cynthia, and I've got to say, it's probably one of the best its I have ever had. I have a lot of thin, curly/wavy hair, and CynthIs is the first stylist to ever actually understand and adapt to my hair and it's needs. I had a hair color and haircut here once and it was a good experience. I like the hair stylist who worked on me, unfortunately don't remember her name, but she was wonderful. The whole vibe of the salon is cool and modern but at the same time comfortable. People here are generally friendly, even though on the phone when I callef them for the first time, I had my doubts. I purchased a Groupon and tried this place. Since a couple of my friends recommended me to try. I was a bit nervous since I'm really tender headed and barely like any stylists. But my hair colorist Olivia did an amazing job on the root touch up and toned my hair (since it was a bit inconsistency in color before). Since it took 3 hours for cut and color, they made sure I got hot towel on head and green tea when switching. My hair cut was also satisfactory by Cynthia (and she made sure she was gentle to my scalp and made sure she didn't chop much hair as I didn't wanted to go short in length but have a little face framing and layers to add volume to my thin hair). I would definitely be back in 3-4 months for sure. Tip is not included in Groupon, if you have a good experience as mine you can always tip using your card after... read more

Recently finally had my hair styled and cut by Louise the owner and never have I had someone shape and style my hair so well. Best part is that she gave me something I could style myself beyond the chair. She's a true master of her craft. After my haircut the lead esthetician took some time to talk to me about my skin concerns and hooked me up with an awesome new men's line of skin care they carry. Salons are open and I had the best experience at CODE Salon. Cool and beautiful with lots of natural light and big windows. Nice air circulation and high ceilings and they sanitize everything and take all safety measures. I had a pretty major color correction from being platinum blonde and salons opening and closing, Angelica at CODE took the time to even out my hair beautifully , I think I started with 3-4 shades with a horrible yellow brassy near my roots. She's also very sweet and takes time to listen and make suggestions. She is a highly trained colorist who can take on a challenge with an easygoing attitude. Everyone at the salon seems really nice. Whole place has a good energy and they have great products (Davines is one of my favorites) I'm looking forward to finding a great hair stylist there too for my next cut. read more

I love code salon! All my experiences here have been great. I do my eyebrows with Kelly H. She is very attentive and knows what she is doing. You do pay a lot for brows here but with that price comes the assurance of knowing the caterpillar-y eyebrows you walked in with will be transformed into perfection in just a few moments. Is it magic? Or is it just Kelly? A bit of both, I suppose. You will be so pleased with Kelly's facials too! I have light skin and I get red really easily. I leave Kelly's facials feeling amazing and looking amazing, with no lingering redness. Never have I ever had such noticeable results with facial products than from the ones Kelly has recommended. Do yourself a favor and do your hair with Jacelyn. Do not be deceived ... she is small but she is fierce with those scissors and that blow dryer, in the best way possible. (See attached photo for proof). The front desk people are the best too! They are always so welcoming and kind, and *patient* with me as I make appointments / change them around. Got my brows shaped + tinted with Kelly yesterday-- the results are GORGEOUS! I was a little nervous about tinting but they look so natural and suit my face perfectly. Kelly is so sweet and was very gentle, it was way less painful than when I try to pluck my brows myself at home. Additionally, the salon is lovely and felt very COVID safe. I wanted to treat my bff for a beauty day in the city and after reading CODE Salon reviews I decided to call and book it. From the start I had such a pleasant experience with their booking agents, they were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful to make the day special for my girlfriend. I booked color with Angelica for her. As we arrived to CODE we were very surprised at what a great set up they have during these Covid times, as we walked up the stairs Josh greeted us and explained what their safety measures were and took our temperatures and walked us over to the seating area where we remained and waited for my my girls friends stylist. Angelica came over to greet us and took us over to her station which was super neat and clean, she asked my friend some questions, shortly after, I left to do my thing. I came back to pick her up and she looked amazing and she was super happy with her new look! I have been debating on a trip to CODE for over a year now. I finally decided to make the drive out yesterday, I am very happy I did! TJ is great. He's cute! Love his hair, he has some serious cutting skills. I was offered a head & neck massage before my relaxing wash! The beds clients lay on (instead of chairs) are genious! All the products used on me were phenomenal and smelled wonderful. Wash, cut, and blow dry for $45? Well that's a steal. I will most definitely be returning. I moved to SF from NYC and was eagerly looking for a hair dresser and Yelp brought me to CODE and Louise. I got my first haircut with Louise in October and she truly did such a phenomenal job. Gave me exactly what I wanted --for the first time in my life I was getting compliments on my hair, even from strangers. I Decided to go back to her for a trim. I asked for shorter curtain bangs and layers in the front last week and I just can not fathom how horrendous my haircut turned out. I am genuinely having such trouble comprehending the discrepancy in her work this second time around. My bangs turned out completely uneven (see pix). To be fair, When I got home, I sent her a message and asked her if she could even it out. She quickly responded and let me go in and tried to even it out for free. However, even after the fact, my front layers are still awful (see pix). I hate to leave a negative review for her because she is such a lovely person but this hair cut is not a $275 master level haircut... I am very unhappy and very shocked with this outcome. I know for a fact she can do so much better and I am not sure if she was having an off day but unfortunately she did not deliver on the most basic hair cut ask...... read more

I've had a very tough and confusing relationship with my curly hair and never really knew what to do with it, constant frizzing and extremely long. So a month ago, I cut my own bangs, and it's terrible because I cut too far back, so I got bang all over my head, I mean at the back side of my head also short hair like bangs and that make me look like I got a very big head...HATE IT I went to code salon and Cynthia fixed that for me!! Let's just put it this way: when I got home, my girlfriend was like, "That's not your normal, cool haircut; you look like a young boy or a really boring businessman or engineer." The prices here are FAR out of proportion with the caliber of expertise/experience. E.g. my "Advanced" stylist only had like 1 year of experience! The salon itself is beautiful, and the staff were all super friendly and nice. Unfortunately, the price charged for an "Advanced" stylist led me to expect a much more elevated quality of cut and style. Instead, I got a haircut that I'm not happy with, and which looks a lot like the haircut I once got at Supercuts (never again!). My stylist was noticeably baffled by the minor cowlick toward the back of my head, and she cut my hair after straightening and puffing it up with a hair dryer, which is just really not a technique that I've seen used by any of the *Advanced* stylists that I've ever worked with (they typically cut my hair normal, wet, or with product in it). I do not recommend coming here. Instead, I'd check out Hector Estrada Salon or Cetana Salon. read more
