My review is for Mercy: My niece's hair was incredibly matted. I tried to detangle it myself but after 2 attempts and a total of 4 hours, I knew it was beyond what I could do for her. I reached out to Mercy to schedule an appointment (which would be my niece's first hair appt), I explained how bad the matting was and felt embarrassed by the situation. Not only did she not judge me or my niece for the situation, she talked me thru what she would do. On the day of my nieces appointment, I was concerned that this was too big of a job and we were going to have to shave her hair off. Mercy worked her magic and saved her hair! I can't explain the appreciation I feel! My niece was like a brand new girl when we left the salon a couple hours later and still talks about how much she liked Mercy and the service she provided her, so much so, she's saving up for a blowout! Update needed since I last posted: I planned on not commenting further but new information has emerged...Milvali Salon's damage to my hair was even worse than I even knew at first glance. I found out that Dani @ Milvali Salon put PERMANENT hair color in my hair. It's going to take my new stylist 3 visits to fix it, which is costly. Mivali salon ruined my hair, took $350 from me, plus the costs of fixing it via my new stylist (which will amount to over $1k after multiple visits) . This has brought me to tears of how traumatic this experience has been. This is an unethical business owner and I had to share the aftermath, as a warning to other women (as I truly don't want this to happen to others). read more

I'm sad to be writing this review as I really wanted to like this salon. However, my latest experience was so damaging that it feels necessary to share in hopes of saving a future client from having a similar experience. I booked with Jeanette on Saturday at 12pm. I requested a few highlights and toner to remove the brassy/warm blonde and make it cool blonde, plus a hair cut. I'm already a dirty blonde and she has worked with my hair before so this seemed very straightforward. I even showed her an inspo pic and she confidently agreed and got to work. I'm not sure what happened, but she over processed my hair to the point that it was orange. She essentially bleached by whole head and removed any depth (not what I asked for). She attempted to find a quick fix and applied more product (not sure what it was) but it was so harsh that it burned my scalp. By this point it was 6:30pm (6+ hours in a salon was a first for me!) and we hadn't even gotten to the blow dry or cut. I was so mentally and physically uncomfortable that I just chose to walk out with wet hair (no cut) to avoid being there any longer. The cherry on top was that she attempted to charge me for an unfinished and unacceptable service. Luckily, the owner was right there and agreed that I would not have to pay. I ended up missing a very important event that night due to the ridiculous amount of time she kept me in salon. However, I wouldn't have even been able to attend my event with the state that my hair was left in. The owner called me on Sunday morning (next day) and apologized for the experience. She agreed that it was horrendous. I expressed that I was not comfortable seeing Jeanette again, but unfortunately she was the only stylist available. The owner informed the other two stylists that were in the salon about what had happened and asked if they could oversee Jeanette in between their clients. I gave a very firm 2 hour window to Jeanette and the receptionists so that we were all on the same page in order to avoid a repeat of Saturday (6.5 hours). To get to the point, I ended up in the salon for another 5 hours and my hair was not fixed!! Laurie, another stylist, had to step in for Jeanette on multiple occasions. I felt so bad that she was being taken away from her clients, but at this point she was the only one that was capable of trying to salvage my hair. At the very end, Jeanette threw in the towel (literally) and left Laurie to finish the job for her. Again, due to the time, I did not receive a hair cut and still left with wet hair and messed up. The entire experience and atmosphere was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable. I followed up with the owner after Sunday and she was speechless. She offered to get me in with a new stylist, but I was not comfortable going back (especially for a third time in one week). If you have made it this far, my intention is not to bad mouth anybody and I understand that mistakes happen. However, this was just straight up unacceptable. If you are a stylist and you do not feel comfortable or confident meeting a clients request - TRANSPARENCY IS THE BEST POLICY! If you are a salon owner - please ensure that your team of stylists are capable of performing the services that they advertise! Fortunately, I found a new salon that has been exceptional! The owner and stylists are highly trained and they communicated every step of the process to me. The atmosphere felt very professional and fun! Unfortunately, I needed a full color correction due to Milvali and I had a good amount of chemical breakage from being over processed. Not to mention, the back of my hair had tiger stripes - the dye job was that bad! The amount of time and now money that this whole experience has costed me is so disappointing, but I hope that Deb (the owner) has provided her stylists with more training in hair and customer service. I urge any new, or even returning clients, to tread with caution here and just do your research. Getting your hair done should make you feel confident and happy and nothing like what I experienced. read more

I would give no stars if I could, I have no words. I've gotten extensions done with them twice before and came in to get my highlights done a few days ago. They didn't tell me the price of the extensions so please always ask beforehand because it's overpriced. I paid it and came back because I was paying for excellence. 1500 for hair and installation is expensive. I paid $355 to get my hair absolutely ruined by Honey. I even asked her how much it would be and she didn't answer me. She's a lovely person but I'm astounded by how terrible it looks and their lack of willingness to fix an issue that they created. They're saying because I went several years ago, they are not responsible. I spent atleast a year and a half repairing my hair from the prior damage before even thinking of lightening and wanted minimal lightness. There was no need to go so high or so blonde, no evenness and I'm embarrassed of my hair. I'll upload what I asked for vs what I got. I'll be reporting this to the board because I'm in tears. My hair looks absolutely terrible and not worth $355. It took 5 hours and they couldn't even finish the highlights. It will take $250 to fix and they refuse to refund me anything more than the haircut that they could not fit in on 5 hours. They chemically burned my hair off and I have a chunk missing. They also made me sign a "contract" stating they would not be responsible for any damages after treatment. That should have been my first sign to go elsewhere. The contract isn't valid because they are the "experts" and should not have treated my hair to begin with. Please go somewhere else with some transparency and integrity. When I called to get the business license information from the front desk, they would not give it to me. I had to look it up myself. Luckily, I've already been in touch with state board and filed a complaint. Updated with response: That's insane because she follows me on Instagram and we talked about all of my hair colors and getting a perm. I've only been coming here since 2019 which is when my hair was this color. Which honey said she saw on my ig because we have already followed each other as I've been coming here for a while. Would it not be on file as a service I had here anyway. Regardless it was discussed in front of everyone in the salon at that time. The price was not, even when I asked. Nor did I know or was ever mentioned the price for anything. I will be updating with the waiver which should have been the first red flag. Why would a salon need a waiver because they don't want to be held accountable for a terrible color. Anytime I've asked anyone about pricing they've always had to check, and honey didn't get back to me when I asked. I was always told the price and surprised when I paid. Also even if she cut it, the highlighting itself looks nothing like I had asked and it looks terrible anyway. Damage aside my hair color itself looks despicable and nothing like I said I wanted. How can you ethically be proud of a color like this. Uneven, it goes way too high, different shades of blonde/brown. I can't even wear my hair down because I'm too embarrassed and everyone at my job is also embarrassed for me because it looks absolutely terrible. I was told I would get a "partial" refund of $75 of the haircut I never got. I spent $350 and they won't even refund me for the worst coloring I've got in my life, damage aside. I'm thankful another shop is trying to fix this for $250 so I can put my hair down. read more

This was my first experience with Milvali. My friend was getting her hair done and I came to hang out -- ended up leaving with new hair ‍ Mandy was my stylist. A little hair history. I had gone bright blonde and was having to touch up with toner every few weeks. We decided going semi perminant would be a good idea. I told her Kardashian Jet Black and she got it. I'm a natural strawberry blonde, but have always wanted to join the dark side... when I came in with a terrible partly-grown out pixie cut, I decided it was time to try something totally different. I got 30pc's of dark brown/natural black tape-in's done by Lauren to add length, and Ben color matched them p-e-r-f-e-c-t-l-y! I've never gotten so many compliments- people think I'm actually a brunette who's been dying my hair blonde all this time. It's great. This is my first time getting extensions and during my consultation, all my questions were answered and the process explained. I am so relieved that I decided to use this method provided by Milvali versus some others I was looking into. These look perfectly natural, feel quite comfortable, and add gorgeous volume and length. I have been getting extensions for a long time. Up until 3 months ago I had always done sew ins or tape ins or clip ins. I have always hated all of them, but didn't want to fork over the big bucks for microlinks or fusions.... well I finally gave in and I am so happy! I was referred to Lauren at Milvali by a friend of mine and got my microlinks and color done for the first time 3 months ago. I just had them removed and replaced and still love them. Here's the breakdown.... yes micro links are expensive, but you should already know that if you are doing your research. Milvali is pretty competitively priced considering and their customer service is great. I went in for my consultation on a Wednesday afternoon and they were able to tone my hair on the spot no appointment necessary and did a great job. FYI you need your hair colored to the color it's going to be before they order your extensions so they are guaranteed to match. They then matched my color and rush ordered the hair so that I could have them put in at 7am the following Saturday morning in time to be at a wedding rehearsal in San Ramon at 11am. Like seriously!?!?! And on top of it, it was like no big deal for Lauren to come in early on a Saturday to make sure I was happy. I did have some issues with some of my links falling out, but it doesn't surprise me based on my experiences with other types of extensions and my hair texture. I blame my hair not the extensions. Nevertheless I headed back in about half way through my 12 weeks and they were happy to put them back in my head. Bottom line everyone that I have worked with at Milvali has been great. I called in to see if I could make an appt. in the next few days and fortunately they gave me the next day appointment. I was booked with a sweet lady named Ana. She was very welcoming when I arrived. I showed her a photo of what I needed and barely had to direct her with how I wanted my haircut. Through out the process she was very friendly and it was sweet chit chatting with her!
