I really loved Stevie. She was so kind and fun to talk to. She made getting my hair colored, fun. After my color, I had a haircut with Lacey. Even as she was working, cutting off about 5 inches, I knew I was going to love it. By the time she was done, I was in love with my hair again. I got long layers and am so happy about it. What I appreciated the most is that Lacey was diligent about asking how I live. Knowing that I exercise daily, she made sure I would be able to put my hair in a pony tail. I got a lot of compliments from my family about my new hair and I will definitely be back to see these lovely ladies. Thank you both for making my hair look amazing and making me feel welcome.

From there, we did an 10 hour transformation going blonde and honestly, that appointment bonded us for life. It always looks natural, grows out beautifully, and lasts forever without getting brassy. I'm pretty low-maintenance, and somehow my hair still looks put together months later because of her work. Her haircuts are also super clean, and she's actually the one who got me into curtain byayangs and I've stuck with them ever since. What I appreciate most is how much she cares about doing things the right way. When I decided to go back to my natural color, she didn't rush it or take shortcuts. We began this journey in another salon with Emily nd I've followed her into her Salon, I mean can you even imagine the growth and hard work? You're own salon in the city?! Ok so let me begin this experience. I've been with Emily for 4 years now when I initially wanted to go copper. I researched for 2 months in search of someone that wasn't overpriced and had the skills. I learned quickly that I was looking for a colorist. And Emily was just that. I have hair that many people would called raven colored... naturally. I worried about the impact of bleach in my hair as I hadn't colored it in 10 years. Emily walked me through a very thorough consultation and at the end asked me how I felt and if I wanted to continue with the session. I accepted because I felt confident in her work and her reassurance and validation. After some hours and constant foil checks and just body checks overall (asking me if I wanted to stretch, needed a break, water, food and a drink) my hair was at a comfortable level where she felt she didn't fry it but it could be lifted safely. Many will lighten you fast slab some stuff on and send you on your way just for you to wash style and it's falling apart. This was not that kind of horror story. We applied the color and it looked beautiful. As I went with her I learned so much about coloring and detail. Emily was and is the best at it. Our sessions are not only satisfying in the hair aspect, but we've shared so many funny stories and memories that Siren Salon is a place I go to decompress and visit what feels like old friends. The vibe is great too, the other stylist make it feel like they've serviced you with how friendly they are. And let's not forget how talented Micah and Melinda are. I'm so grateful I've found a place to not only service my hair needs but to feed my soul with care and positivity. I tell people all the time about Emily and when they go somewhere else and I see their hair they say "I knowww I should've gone to your girl." I always reply "you need an amazing COLORIST someone who knows the science of hair" and that is exactly what Emily is. I've added pictures below... Thank you for coming to my ted talk!

I wasn't done showing photos nor was I reassured or that she understood what I wanted. She interrupted my appointment to do a bang trim for someone else in the middle of it. At one point said she was 'not prepared' for my hair. Why not? That's literally her job. She cut it dry, it felt very chaotic. I found this place bc I searched for a razor cut, liked the examples of the work. I expected a wet, razor cut. Scissors are fine too. If I wanted a 'curly cut' or DRY cut I would've searched for that. Couldn't get a decent blowout which should last days this didn't even look good immediately after much less after the walk through SF fog to my car. I tipped 30 on top of the 190 starting price. So 220 total. Plus I come from the north bay and had to drive over the bridge into SF. I have waited for weeks to finally post a review because I really tried to give it a chance but I'm very unhappy I wasted over 200 and couldn't even get a good cut or blowout. My hair is curly but it doesn't need any special treatment it can be cut normally, wet, and can be worn either way, curly or smooth, with a good cut. Once again, a stylist was late, then rushed me, didn't listen, didn't deliver, wasted my time and money, and ruined years of grow out. And I'll have to go back to trimming it myself as these shattered layers grow out to recover the thickness I had. I could have done a better job myself at home. I did not hate what I came in with, i actually liked it. It just needed to be cleaned up and evened out basically. Long layers. Classic. Could not have been a more simple request. She completely overcomplicated things. No idea why she cut it dry, and I did not want that! but she didn't ask or consult me if I was OK with it or tell me ahead of time she planned to do that. But she was perfectly polite n all. Just not at all the skill level I expect of a senior stylist charging nearly 200 for a cut. For that I expect a great blowout to be no problem at all. I expect to walk out feeling confident. I have examples of great past cuts. I wish I had just walked out in the 30 minutes she made me wait. The last cut I had from someone else they were also very late and it sucks that happened yet again. Wasn't sure bc they take cc info upfront and say they charge for late cancels if it was even an option without getting charged. Ought to have been able to get a nice cut and blowout for over 200. Should not have been this complicated or difficult. Also think the so called clean/green products, maybe just don't perform as well as the ones that aren't greenwashed and just focus on performance. They did nothing to give me the moisture or the protection from fog and frizz my hair needs. And the whole time my people pleasing, introvert self was just saying oh yeah thats fine no problem oh yeah cool sounds good i trust you yeah i love it its great thanks! smh Not at all the experience I was paying for, to actually feel pampered and not have to do this job myself. I could've done it myself and been happy with it. I wouldn't have done what she did to my hair myself. the location also leaves much to be desired but thats SF in general the local bums and crazies are to be expected. the search for a stylist that will deliver professional service and results? sadly continues.
