At BRKTHROUGH, you compete in challenge rooms (there are 40 of them, although a couple were unavailable during our visit) - they last a minute or longer, and are categorized as Physical (requiring speed, agility, coordination, etc), Mental (brainpower, trivia, memory, and puzzle-solving), or Skill (precision, dexterity, patience). The descriptors above came from the BRKTHROUGH website, but I can confirm that they are descriptive of the challenges. The room type/difficulty is shown on a triangle, so they are often a combination of two items (for example, mostly physical with some skill-based components). Every room is scored based on your completion (or lack, thereof) out of 100 points. You can redo rooms as often as you like, keeping the highest score. Your team has an RFID wristband to enter the rooms. Your goal is to earn as many points as you can during the time period you paid for (we did 2 hours). Not only do you try to get your best score, there is a leaderboard to show how you are doing against the other teams in the building. You can earn a prize if you obtain a certain minimum score, or win against the other groups. Other than the boys arguing over strategies, we had a good time. Even with young kids, we were able to complete a lot of the rooms. There are plenty of rooms that could be completed by those with physical limitations, but obviously not all of them. We had a good time and the time flew by. There is also a bar and restaurant and a few games to play after your time is up. The space is open, wide and bright with lots of light pouring in through big windows. Every week, the gym area is set up a little differently. There's a ball pit, trampoline, circle time, independent play, a rock climbing wall, zip line and a lot more for little to explore. The classes are divided into different age groups and the kids learn about colors, patience, taking turns, and so much more. There's is a Little Gym five mins away from where I live. I tried taking my kid there for close to 7 months and he never really felt comfortable and I felt like the teachers were a little detached. We've been going to My Gym for almost two years now and it's a joy each time. My son LOVES it there, asks to go, and is always excited to see his teachers. The teachers are truly outstanding. I just can't say enough.

I'd advise taking care with fish- they use RO water, so drip acclimation will be necessary if you're on KC tap water. The Pygmy's cories I got from them were healthy, but they needed a slow acclimation to be put into my quarantine. They're now in the display. They're knowledgeable about their fish and plants (I'd assume salt water as well, but I don't have a saltwater tank, so I can't say one way or the other). The plants I've purchased from them have been great, except for one buce brownie tissue culture that melted and hasn't come back, but apparently my tank doesn't like buce, because I've tired multiple times, and buce melts and never come back, so I don't fault them for that. Their plants are nearly always in good shape and happy. I did buy some downoi that was super leggy, and so I trimmed it to use only the best of it. It's there, in the tank, and I'm watching to see what it does. But the tissue culture of the downoi I got from them really took off, and is propagating just fine. Their cost is in line with online sellers when you factor in shipping. I'll continue to use them. I've been pleased with the knowledge of the employees and their locality.

Dare I say, kind of fun? We went to a kids birthday party out this way, and when I say out this way, I mean it's a HAUL from where we are in the city. Try to keep track of the beige and uniform buildings as you go by, it feels like you're in an infinite loop of personality-less structures. Eventually the sameness will blend into more sameness, although this will have a sign for Urban Air and you've made it. It's almost a throwback to the Discovery Zone birthday parties of the 90's from the outside, and from the inside for that matter. It wasn't too busy when we were there on a Saturday morning, and my kids really had to soak it all in and get their nerves out to start. Once they found the smaller kids area of tunnels and ball pits, the ice broke and the fun flowed out. There's VR machines, bumper cars, trampolines, more intense trampolines, gymnastics style trampolines, and even some sort of fun sky swing thing that looks like it's for much older kids but isn't. Kind of hard to get bored in here if you're between 4-12, I'd imagine. On the birthday front, they had pizza, a private room, and someone dedicated to running the party who did a nice job. I won't be rushing back, but I will file this away for those late January/February days when the shine of winter is off and you're desperate to get the kids out of the house. Fun overall!
