She was so dirty it was like they've never cleaned their mats and floors. Especially with it being a competitive, shoeless floor you'd think they'd have more pride in the appearance and cleanliness. There was duct tape holding a ton of stuff together and that creates a general safety hazard because it can bust or grip where someone isn't expecting it to. Just not that great of a place. Maybe the price was worth it?

I want to take a moment to share something important to me…read more I have three kids that have all played competitive sports since they were old enough. Out of all the teams we have been on the amount of LOVE AND SUPPORT we have gotten from NJE (even after moving on to dance) is beyond amazing. I've never in my life had a team that truly makes you feel like it's more than just a team...it's FAMILY!! Yes it's still a business and they need to make money but it has never felt that way. How many coaches do you know who will take time to surprise EVERY athlete on their team whom made it is Disney by showing up at THEIR SCHOOL to give them a congratulations gift? That's right. They drove all around the KC area to surprise their girls for winning a bid to "The Summit" (the Super Bowl of cheer if you will). Now this is my youngest second year of not cheering. She had switched over to dance a year and a half ago. How many of you could say your ex coaches and teammates/parents would pay to come watch your child perform at their new dance studio? ‍Well I can tell you out of all the coaches my kids have had NJE are the only one that has does this. This is what touches me deep in my heart and they will FOREVER be a part of my family! This is what these kids need to see. Love/caring/kindness and to me THIS is winning! (Yes they do actually win competitions also. Lol but this is more important to me than anything) They are the perfect balance of being tough on your child when needed and expect them to give 100% and when they do great they know how to show the athletes how proud they are of them. If we ever go back to cheer (which she is talking about it ) we would only go back there. Oh and speaking of they are the only gym I know that does not have the drama and when a girl leaves they almost always come back. In case you were wondering my daughter had cheered their for four years!

When our children were young, they attended birthday parties and open gym sessions at Elite…read moregymnastics. Our children also celebrated many of their own birthday parties at Elite gymnastics as well. Our son was coached by an excellent swim instructor - our son needed to get ready for his scout swimming test. The Elite instructor had earned his Eagle Scout rank and he was the absolute best advisor and coach our son could have ever needed! Our daughter's middle name is probably "Elite" - she started gymnastics at age 4 and now she is a senior in high school. She has been part of the Elite Gymnastics family all of her life. They are a second family to us in every way. I have taught youth for 28 years, and I confidently believe: This fantastic gymn has the best team of efficient and caring mentors our children needed. The coaches expect the children to excel and encourage them effectively. Our children developed strong self-esteem and self trust while attending Elite Gymnastics and Aquatics.

Twisters has great potential. The owners are all hard workers, determined and offer a strong…read moreatmosphere for kids to learn. Their coaches are good but frequently too gruff with the younger children. I think the owners have potential if they learn three concepts of dealing with the public: don't take it personal, don't take parent's actions out on the children, and stick to your decisions. The owners offer a good product but frequently get wrapped up in the "mama drama" and do some unethical business practices. They change their minds on the urging of parents without reasoning and appearing unbiased. There are parent issues at this gym like Moms telling their kids to drop fliers when they are forced to base in Cheer. You have to nip that behavior early to prevent kids from developing bad behaviors at the gym. Tumbling and Gymnastics is less dramatic and is frequently over shadowed by the cheer team. I know they are working on that aspect, but until the cheer side learns to be less dramatic, I don't see that changing. much.

Of the 4 owners, 2 are too passive and need to get a back bone, 1 talks out of both sides of the…read moremouth all of the time, and the other is extremely controlling. Any adult who is angry with another adult and decides to take that out on a child is sick and has no business working with children.
