What a well-designed area in an easy to get to place and what a terrific show! Sound and costumes were divine and as one small complaint, the stage lighting was unfortunately sub par, to me. If your kids go here they are blessed. If you are choosing a community for a cool high school include Olathe South in the hunt. The Olathe East Theater Director was responsible for the play but it was a truly great venue.

The school has a rare spirit about, it is welcoming and inclusive. The education standards are very high, and students at Maranatha consistently rank higher than at the best alternatives in our area. This school may be the most affordable and the most diverse private school in the metro area, both a huge plus! We haven't seen bullying, exclusivity, or putting up with problem people like you see in other schools. Our kids came from a public school and fit in with ease. Terrific staff and state-of-the-art facilities are an added bonus. It's easy to see why Maranatha has so many potential students shadowing and so many new enrollments!

it sucks, I have to use a different email then my normal one because if the staff saw this i would…read moreprobably get suspended, but i am leaving the school next year so i dont really care anymore. they base the whole school off how rich you are and if you donate to the school. for example, this one kid cursed out a teacher, threatend to RAPE a girl, and got into multiple fights, but sense his parents pay the school a lot he just got a slap on the wrist. the teachers also suck, are english teacher got fired and we had multiple subs for MONTHS. so obviously we learned NOTHING. so when finals came around we expected to not have one in that class, but to our suprise, we had to take it still. And as expected multiple kids failed. all it is, is money hungry staff, would NOT reccomend.

First off, parking is scarce. And spread out. If you include the staff parking lot around the front, then there is sometimes enough parking. There are families that tailgate and use more than one prime spot, which is annoying ... Unless you are one of those late arrivers that can nab the spot when they take down their tent. The stadium itself is very accessible. Wide metal walk ways in the stands and handicap accessible ramps at both end of both the home and visitors sides. The visitors side is quite diminished when compared to the home side. Having raised most of my kids at Shawnee Mission South where the stadium was practically a professional ball field, this feels like a step down. There is only one concession location, and it is at the south end if the home side of the field. This means visitors have to walk all the way around the south end of the field for a snack. I really can't comment on the food, as it depends on what school organization is running it to make money. The viewing is great. The bleachers are set up so that there isn't a bad seat, even for wheel chairs. No straining to see from behind the players. Overall, I like anyplace where I can see my highschool kids play. But having gotten used to the SMS field, I have to rate this one with only three stars.

I grew up being emotionally and physically abused by a narcissist and no one at this school did a damn thing to protect me. I called 911 on my father once and was reprimanded by the school for it. No one asked me why I called 911 (I was terrified for my own safety), they just assumed I was being defiant. I also suffered anxiety attacks periodically and during an attack a student resource officer would escort me to the nurse's office and ask if I was on drugs. This school needs proper training on how to identify narcissistic parents/covertly abusive parents & how to approach mental illness. For this to be effective, however, they're going to have to abandon their police mindset and start trying to help their students instead of automatically assuming they are acting out and need to be punished. Maybe then the suicide rate for BVHS students and alumni would stop skyrocketing.

I love STA! I went to high school here and had a great experience with awesome teachers and…read moreextra-curricular activities. STA is a great size for a high school. There were 299 people in my graduating class and I knew most of them fairly well. I was very active in drama and forensics at STA. The coaches and teachers are funny, caring, and positive. I still keep in touch with them. STA is really well-known for their soccer team as well- I think they've won nationals or come close to it every year for the past 8 years! WOOO I also feel like my teachers really cared about my growth and performance as a student. I always felt safe at the school. It's a great place to grow up and learn!

Aquinas is often underestimated by those who attend the more prestigious Catholic schools (Sion, St…read moreTeresa's, Rockhurst) but those who underestimate Aquinas do so at their own peril. The school is full of bright kids who work hard, athletes who compete with all the other strong programs, and students dedicated to service who care for others. Sure, it's cheaper. Doesn't mean it isn't great. Have had a chance to work with a lot of Aquinas students and have even taught a couple classes there. Always been impressed.
