Sure we had a few curmudgeonly teachers that aren't there anymore, but we also had some extremely inspirational and awesome teachers. The class sizes were just right, recess was the best, and there is a strong sense of community through and through. There's occasion rumors that they'd close WWV because it's too small, which would be the ultimate shame. That's the beauty of it, and it's in one of the greatest areas of Kansas City in my opinion.

They emphasize requiring children to work out their problems themselves. In spirit, this appears to be a great tool to equip children to become resourceful and accountable adults. In hindsight, this emphasis is built on a utility the school uses to separate children from their parents on an emotional level. This school is EXACTLY what we were trying to avoid in the public school system. This school believes they are better equipped to raise your children than you are, and when you are able to recognize this, you see it in everything they do. For example, parents are not allowed to speak to teachers without using the school's provided communication systems (which do not allow you to keep a backup of for your own records.) No personal emails, text messages, phone calls, or the like -- they want to monitor every exchange parents have with any employee of the school and they retain and control all access to these communications. In multiple interactions with administration, it became highly apparent that this school is harboring some highly narcissistic and mentally deranged people. Please, for the sake of your children, run far away! We did, and couldn't be happier. We only wish we had not made this mistake at all.

The venue is perfect for concerts, plays etc. and every seat is a good seat. I first saw Mr. Botti in concert years ago and I thought I would literally lose it. He tore that trumpet up. I have never heard a trumpet sound THAT good, ever! HE is the very reason I fell in love with it. My instrument of love was always the saxophone, but honey all that changed after hearing this cat. He also happens to have the coldest band ever and is such a brilliant yet caring person. He provides opportunities for other phenomenal musicians to play with him from all over the world...not everyone does that...talk about unselfish, it's very admirable.
