Vanessa was very helpful when I had a question about sealing the granite and when that needs to be done in the future.

I wanted the inside to be as custom as possible since the outside of my house looks like every other house in the neighborhood and this is where Carrie came into the picture. Since my builder didn't offer white cabinet options we found a painter that painted all of my cabinetry before moving in. Carrie helped us with changing out the lightening fixtures, wall decor, a custom gallery wall and other furnishings and all within the budget we gave her. We are so happy with how our home turned out and recommend Carrie 1000%!

I asked Carrie if I could bring my clients in to see what a similar home could look like when professionally decorated/staged. They had been looking at homes in her community for some time, but just could not visualize what the finished product could look like. The model home was nice but did not sell the potential of what their home could look like. Carrie allowed me to bring them in and within seconds, I could tell that this is exactly what they were looking for. We spent as much time looking at her furnishings as we did the physical structure of the home. Well, needless to say, we wrote an offer the next day and my clients are currently building their new home. I am so excited for both my clients and I'm sure they are going to hire Carrie to help them once their home is complete! Thank you Carrie, I couldn't have done it without you!

However, we assumed that Stephanie would provide us with an overview of the process with timelines and what to expect in order to work with our move-in goals. She never provided any sense of targets or timelines, which left us unsure how things worked, when we were supposed to reach out to her, and when we should expect to receive mock ups of designs/options. There was overall really poor communication and we tried to address this. Eventually, at some point, she decided that we were not a good fit as client and designer and even mentioned she had a feeling this would not work the moment she stepped into our home originally. In that case, we wish she would have told us that earlier instead of bringing us on somewhat of an emotional rollercoaster. We later got some very harsh and cold emails from Kami accusing us of sending bad checks, when in reality, our materials had gotten mixed up as we were moving, and would have been able to rectify things if they had communicated properly with us when we first sent over the payments. Honestly, just looking at the way she responds to comments on Yelp (in addition to her communication over email) shows how she lacks professionalism and basic empathy. Perhaps, we just had a bad experience, but I'm honestly not sure if this is a super friendly business for people of color, particularly with a desire to integrate some of their cultural elements into the design, or for people new to the interior design process.

When she did finally show up was told she would get back to us by email in about a week with more information about the project and never heard back from her. If you're an adult with a business you would think one would have the decency to at least get back to a potential client and let them know she wouldn't be able to work with you. I found her flaky and her actions were adolescent.

In addition to the huge on-site selection, they have an enormous catalog of anything one could possibly need. Many furniture items can be customized with a huge variety of fabrics or layouts. After about 5 minutes, I asked for some help from people standing nearby who had looked at me several times at the desk (they had looked straight at me prior). I said I wanted to purchase a bed and was asked how much I wanted to spend. My response was I would buy what I liked, it didn't matter the cost. The woman said that there was 'quite a range' to which my reply was 'I can handle it.' It was obvious she didn't think I could because I was dressed in my 'day off clothes.' I left. Will not ever return. Really sad that they treat people so poorly. I don't believe I should have to dress up to shop. I dress up at work.

While Simply stage NW's prices are competitive to the market, it's their customer service, attention to detail, and their creative designs that have me using this company for our listings, as well as rehab projects. The owner of the company is the driving force behind why they have been this successful in my opinion. A woman who is dedicated to her craft obsessively. She works long hours to ensure we are taken care of. This is high class staging at an affordable price in my opinion. I certainly hope as this company grows, they maintain that edge by continuing to be affordable. IN addition to staging, I took a chance and had them design my flat. The process took about 2 weeks with constant communication regarding furniture colors, artwork, and even down to kitchen/bathroom decor. Being a newly single dad needed a design that would encompass both a modern feel, but also fluid to feel like home for my son. Once this was all done, she and her team came to my home, assembled the furniture, and removed all the old items. I probably could have sold the other stuff, but the convenience of her team removing was well worth the time it would take me to post the other items online. What impressed me the most was the high level of communication, and their obvious nature to please. There were a few towels I wasn't too thrilled about in the bathrooms, she had new towels replaced within days. Anyway, that was my experience....

When we met, Vanessa listened carefully, asked questions, and identified a gorgeous blue-green for the body of the house, and a rich creamy white for our trim. We retrieved samples of the paint from the store, put it up on a few different places on the house and garage, and SURPRISE... the blue-green color came out a lot brighter than it appeared on the flat paper sample. We sent Vanessa an email and asked for her recommendation. Vanessa wrote right back and provided three new options, one of which was the absolutely PERFECT shade of the seemingly ever-elusive teal we had been dreaming about. We are thrilled with the outcome -- our house is stunning from every angle and a true jewel of the neighborhood! Without Vanessa's expert assistance, we could have purchased 100 paint samples and still not have found the right shade.

She took our original scheme (which I put together using the Farrow & Ball website's 'these go together' suggestions) as inspiration, keeping our selected main color (F&B Brinjal), and replacing the ho-hum F&B trim colors with amazing, earthy, sophisticated ones. Then! She shocked and delighted us by proposing GOLD for our rafter tails and bits of trim. She spent a ton of time with us during the consultation, figuring out which color should go where on all the complicated joins at the back of the house. We splashed out for renderings, which was absolutely worth the extra cost--they built our confidence about making such a huge change. (Our fabulous painters -- Jeff and Alex of G&F Painting-- also appreciated the renderings and how prepared we were, btw.) The weekend before painting began, with all the final samples on the side of the house, I noticed that in the morning sun, something was off with our choices. Vanessa kindly made time for a weekend emergency visit and helped us figure out that the main sample was mixed (very) wrong, but the color selections were right. Whew! The end result is beautiful. We get tons of compliments from neighbors and passing dog walkers, and best of all... where before the white box loomed like a lonely cloud, now our home feels so much more cozy and "settled" into the landscape and neighborhood. Don't hesitate to call Vanessa - she made this daunting project fun! Worth every penny.
