I did that and the people at the store were super helpful. Our tank is discontinued but having some great research the ferguson's staff found a replacement. The price for a new tank and inside parts at the big box was $100 or more. I walked out of ferguson happy and only spent $51 and much less time, They let me know to come back if there were any issues. BONUS - they disposed of the broken tank

I contacted the mfg and got a specific part number and told to order through a wholesaler like Ferguson, who probably should have just messaged their rep in the first place. I called and was told they would have to contact a rep for pricing and to give me contact info and they'd get it ordered but it might take a few days, then no contact for a week. I called again and they didn't have any idea what I was talking about, but took my info again and said they would put in an order. Another week went by with no response and I'm pretty sure they blew me off again. I tried calling one time but after about 30 minutes on hold I give up. I ended up going to standard supply company, they took all of ten minutes to get the part ordered and sent me invoices. Apparently I'm not the first person that's had this exact same issue that they've helped recently. They're much more polite and actually seem competent.

All we had to do is find the right knobs and pulls. Little did we know there is more to the search than just finding the item in the store. We found several knobs that could not be matched with pulls. After a couple of misses, Helen jumped in and gave us direction. She went to her computer database and found us some options. She walked us through the store to give us examples of pulls to choose between. Did I mention, this wasn't her responsibility at the time? The front counter person assigned someone to come see us however that person dragged/lagged or went to see a movie and Helen jumped in to make sure we had a pleasant shopping experience. The store has a lot of things to pick at great prices compared to others selling the same items. If you're on their website Build.com, you can come in and see products before purchasing. Thanks Helen from making our experience great!

I can't say enough about Nick, Amanda, and Kailash at PDX Homeworks. They gave us the most…read morebeautiful kitchen we could have asked for. They took a kitchen to the studs and built a masterpiece for my wife and me. How much do we love them? We rehired them to renovate our master bathroom completely. The fact that we rehired them should tell you all that you need to know about how amazing they are. So, again, the best review is that we are using them again, and you should use them too because they are the best. What made them the best: 1) They helped us save a lot of money. They have a unique approach to ordering materials for the project. They let us know what they needed, and we ordered it directly. We ordered the new cabinets, the new doors, the new appliances, etc. By doing this, there was no additional markup on the items ordered, and it saved us a lot of money. Other contractors we met with didn't want to do this, and their quotes were at least 20 percent more than PDX Homeworks. 2) Their work. Unlike other contractors that we have had in the past. When they saw something that wasn't quite right but that we would never know about, they didn't just cover it up and move on; THEY MADE IT RIGHT. Not to mention that their work is very precise. I once watched Nick get so frustrated when he was leveling the kitchen as he tried to level everything because it was off, to me, an imperceptible amount. At least the amount was imperceptible to me, but to Nick, it wasn't perfectly level, and he continued until it met his exacting needs. 3) Helping with design. We were amazed at how painless the whole design process of our kitchen was. We gave Amanda some inspirational pictures, and she came back with a fantastic design that only required a few minor tweaks. THANK YOU, AMANDA. 4) They only work on one project at a time. It is just Nick, Amanda, and Kailash. They don't have multiple crews doing multiple jobs that they are overseeing. They were at our house every day, working and working. It was so lovely that we had consistency in seeing them every day. 5) They're very clean. Every day, they would use drop cloths on the ground to make sure they didn't get the carpets dirty. I even told them that they didn't need to do that because I was getting the carpets cleaned after they were done. They didn't listen to me and continued to use drop cloths every day. They also vacuumed and cleaned up every day. It was a very clean renovation. 6) They are just the nicest people. It was great getting to know them during the whole process of our renovation. They don't do this type of work to become huge builders with millions of dollars of work completed every year. They are just the nicest people who love remodeling, helping people out, and helping them save money where they can. Again, we can't say enough good things about them except that we used them, again, to renovate our master bathroom. If you need a contractor, unequivocally, I can say that you don't need to look any further because you have found the best contractors in Portland and possibly the world. USE THEM!!!!!!

We gutted, repaired, leveled, and rearranged our 1970's worn out and disfunctional space into something unique and perfect for us. PDX Homeworks is amazing at accommodating a budget (and very skilled with the customized-IKEA route!), superbly knowledgable for those of us who have no idea what we're doing, and go the extra mile daily to ensure their clients and their homes are cared for like their own. Norman, Sharon, Wen, and Ian are exceptional--not just in their craftsmanship, but as people. They are some of the kindest and most genuine individuals we've had the pleasure of working with. They care deeply about what they do, and it shows in both the quality of their work and their reliability and responsiveness. The way they treat their clients is truly next level. They are consistently on time, dependable, and deliver beautiful results. Norman has an incredible eye for selections, and I really enjoyed learning from him about cabinetry craftsmanship. Since this was our first home remodel, we leaned on his advice often--and many of his suggestions ended up shaping our home in the best way. Throughout the entire process, they went above and beyond. Anytime we had a vision, we could call Norman and the team, and they would find a way to bring it to life. Norman would come out, take measurements, and make it happen. When I wanted a custom bookcase, they absolutely delivered. That level of dedication and follow-through is rare. Wen also played a huge role throughout our remodel. From answering every question to supporting us through the final stages, he was incredibly kind, patient, and present the entire time. The customer service we experienced was outstanding, and the quality of the materials, custom cabinetry, and installation exceeded our expectations. You won't regret working with this team. It's rare to find people who care this much about their craft and their clients. We're incredibly grateful to them for showing us what true excellence looks like.

We have been putting off writing a review because we wanted to share pictures after completing our backsplash. Neither of us write reviews very often, but this job was such a huge success so we needed to give them props. We are just going to list off what we liked... 1. Our kitchen is larger than a standard kitchen where all the other shops quoted needing 2 slabs to get the job done. Budget was the only shop that recommended using a Jumbo slab for our kitchen which saved us $$. 2. All we had to do is text Ian a picture of our kitchen layout to get a quote. We had a quote that same day. 3. Phone conversations were great! We had some questions about the edges and the free kitchen sink size (30" vs 32") they were including and they were responsive. 4. Easy process to get the ball rolling. All we had to do to get job going was put down 50% of the cost to have measurements done the following week, then they were out installing the countertops 2 weeks after that. 5. They showed up to install when they said they would. We were told installers would show up between 8-9am and they arrived at 8:15am and were done with our install about 4 hours later. 6. Cleanliness was exceptional - they even put cloth down to protect our flooring. 7. Our experience was so great and have been telling our friends about them if they ever need new countertops. 8. We are going to copy and paste this review into Google as well to get the word out. You don't find many businesses that are this good very often these days, especially when it comes to construction projects:) Alex & Christina S.
