I loved this store so much I visited TWICE on my recent Portland trip. It was a great place to stop for some last-minute Christmas gifts. Because, really, who can't use a few new kitchen gadgets, bowls, or cookware. And this place has it ALL. I was especially attracted to their mesmerizing display of Le Creuset, which (with all its beautiful colors) is sort of like putting a sugar fiend in front of a bowl of chocolate. I want it ALL. Do I NEED it all? No. But I WANT it. Sadly, though, I had to invoke my personal policy of not buying things for myself during the holiday season, so while I looked at the Le C I did not touch. Someday, though, I'll get that bread baker! The rest of the store is similar in its ability to draw you in with attractive displays and colorful eye candy. I bought some bakeware for one of my kids who just got his first apartment, some barware for another, and a few odds and ends for stocking stuffers. I could easily have visited a third time; alas, it was time to head home to the big city so I couldn't. (Probably woulda bought that bread baker if I had, though!)

I love kitchen gadgets. I usually stop at kitchen stores to see what's new in terms of technology, shapes, sizes, etc. This store in Portland is great...there are so many fun things to check out, to buy and to try, it's amazing. Kitchen Kaboodle has been Portland's go-to store since 1975 for people looking to make their house a home. Kaboodle has been honored as one of the nation's top 25 kitchen stores of the last 25 years. And we've been the US nominee for the international GIA award. They have a great selection of cookware, bakeware, cutlery, tools & gadgets, kitchen appliances, and much more. Besides kitchen stuff, they also have a nice collection of dinnerware, table linens, glassware, and decorative accessories. Stop by next time you are in Portland, or if you live in Portland, stop by if you are in the area. It's fun !

I'm one of those people that loves to walk around kitchen and home wares stores even when I have no specific item in mind. I just love to see what's new in gadgets, appliances, serving ware, linens and decor and Kitchen Kaboodle serves this need in spades! Kitchen Kaboodle is well organized with all like-items in sections and color coordinated within those sections. While I prefer all white serving pieces for a classic yet modern look, I do love all the vibrant, fun colored fiesta ware, Le Creuset, and KitchenAid appliances. A girl can dream! Seasonally, they have wonderful items to give your home or deserts that holiday flare like dish towels, cupcake wrappers and sprinkles, cookie cutters, napkins and table runners, candles, and so much more. They do a great job of styling it all so it catches your attention. They have a back wall full of kitchen gadgets which I'm always a sucker for but then rarely use! I've purchased the meatball scoop makers in various sizes but find my hands are still the best! Although they are helpful for making everything uniform in size, which I'm a stickler about, so I scoop then use my magic hands. Prices span the gamete, and they priced less below Sur La Table, plus they often have sales. Their basics like clear glassware and white serving pieces are very competitively priced. They carry Portland Syrup Company syrups which makes stocking up on my favorite Spicy Ginger syrup very convenient. They stock many local items like Portland coasters and prints of Portland Bridges, cookbooks from local chefs, Jacobsen salts, local chocolates and condiments to name a few. Fabulous for gift baskets or to send to those out of state. If you need barstools, I highly recommend walking upstairs to the furniture area. They have a large selection on site and with bar / counter stools, you really need to sit and try them out. In the summer, they have bright colored umbrellas and a variety of out door dining sets and occasional chairs. Customer service is friendly and helpful. They understand that a lot of customers wander aimlessly and zone out while doing so! That would be me. I like that they let you do your thing with no pressure to buy. Yes, there are some impulse items I buy on the spot, but for the more expensive appliances and furniture I do my homework, read reviews, plus check pricing at other stores to make sure that I'm spending my hard earned money wisely. Kitchen Kaboodle is a great local chain that fills a niche; higher end than Bed Bath & Beyond and not as expensive as Sur La Table. Always enjoy shopping here.

I will easily admit that I like to wander kitchen stores. I like going into Bed Bath and Beyond (although they tend to be overpriced on many things) and I will buy something. I've walked out with rolling pins, cast iron pans, cookie sheets and random utensils for the kitchen. Besides being a foodie, I can hold my own in a kitchen. I'm not applying for the Next Great Home cook show anytime soon, but I can do what I need to do and people seem to enjoy my food. That and I'm always wanting to experiment with something new that I haven't done yet. Making pasta? Check. Making sour pickles? Check. Making beer bread? Check. So when I happen upon Kitchen Kaboodle of course I'm going in. I will say that some of the items are pricy)or spendy as the "new" word of the moment is. But surprisingly, there are many items that are affordable. A spice grinder was $36, but you can get a coffee grinder for only $20 and use it for the same purpose. I had a great chat with one of the employees over spices and local restaurants in the area and then wandered on my own. I saw some great knives and saw some "what the hell would I ever buy these for" kind of knives as well. Basically some odd Japanese knives with patterns and splotches all over them. A bit over the top for my liking. The store was organized really well. By color, by brand, by type. The pictures I took give you a glimpse of what I mean. There was a second floor for furniture, but I didn't venture up there only because I didn't need to find something I really wanted. I stuck downstairs and saw the practical things I could actually use. This is a place I will return to, as soon as I have my own places to cook in and not just my brothers tiny apartment kitchen. Enjoy.

My husband and I custom ordered a beautiful dining room table here and we absolutely love it! We couldn't be more pleased. At first, the table was delivered in the wrong color, and even though it was the manufacturer's fault, Sarah H. from the furniture department took good care of us. They re-made our order and delivered the correct table a few weeks later. It is now sitting pretty in our dining room. Highly recommend!!

Gosh, I wish we had a Kitchen Kaboodle here in SF. They have an unbelievable and extensive selection of kitchen and cooking supplies at reasonable prices.

Their employees are knowledgeable and actually sweet. I would much rather shop here rather than Amazon.

My…read morekid purchased her fancy shmancy coffee/espresso machine here, so she knew I'd enjoy checking this place out. And she was RIGHT. Think HomeGoods or HomeSense stores, but much MUCH higher end. That about encapsulates this place. The store itself is one large, open concept floor. It has all sorts of kitchen gadgets and linens, gourmet foods/condiments, patio furniture and gardening accessories, home furnishings and household accessories. Nothing is cheap here, literally or figuratively. Everything is super well-made, but very pricey. My kid saw a pizza platter here for $20 that she purchased the day before at HomeGoods for $4.99. The exact same item. That said, this place carries a lot of brands and items that you cannot find elsewhere, and the staff are extremely knowledgeable about their product lines. I liked their selection of retro wall clocks in a rainbow of colors, each for about $50 (I thought that was reasonable). Also, note that their sale prices on items are excellent deals. And they also carry smaller scale, cute gift things, on carousels by the front counter. I got my friend a cute pair of socks here.
