Came here with my family last night! Super excited that Issaquah has great new Thai. It's in a nice location off Front street close to Gilman Blvd. Plenty of parking. Not a giant place. So if they are full be prepared to wait. We order the chicken satay appetizer. It was great and came with homemade peanut sauce that was AWSOME!! We also had panang prawns and chicken red curry. I am new to Issaquah. As you're driving into town this establishment is before you hit downtown or Main Street Issaquah. If you want Thai food, slow down and check this place out. I had the honey cashew nut chicken which is breaded and fried with cashews, red pepper, onions ( a bit too many for me) and pea pods and carrots. This was the perfect blend of savory and sweet. Went with medium spicy but I could kick it up a notch when I have this dish again. Seems like local favorite. Place is small but they get food to you quickly. My meal was so tasty. Chicken not overcooked which is a risk you run when getting deep fried smaller chicken breast pieces. The only thing that keeps this from being a 5 is servers. They never check in their r ask if you need anything else. They are efficient if not friendly. But overall an excellent experience. I'll come back and try something new. read more

After leaving San Antonio early in the morning and flying to Seattle, we finally arrived to eat around 1:30 p.m. I was starving. So, I am sure that added to the quality of the food for me. First, not a super extensive menu. However, the lunch specials were good and VERY reasonable. Problematic, though, was how small the portions were. I ordered spring rolls and chicken with green beans. Spicy level was a 2-3 when I ordered. However, it wasn't as spicy as I was expecting. Next time, I would definitely order a more spicy number. It's a small restaurant with good service and a nice, quiet atmosphere. I've had several dishes and all have been excellent! We absolutely love this little gem. We recently moved here and thought we would try it out. We did not really expect much from the unassuming appearance and from the fact that it was not crowded. I ordered the pad thai and my husband ordered the crunchy tofu; both were delicious. We have come back many times and my new favorite thing is their pineapple chicken fried rice. My only complaint is they do not deliver or use a delivery service. We order in a lot and I have tried other pineapple fried rice, but there is no comparison. read more

Was craving Thai food and wanted some for takeout so I can eat at home while watching a movie. I was looking around in the Issaquah area, and there were some places that I tried already that I just didn't feel like ordering from that day. So I decided to try some place new, especially when I saw that Coconut Thai had Spicy Basil Fried Rice on their menu, which is one of my go-to's for Thai food. So I ordered that and wanted to try out their Pad Thai too. I really liked both dishes. Great flavor and textures of the noodles and rice. I was really happy because the other basil fried rice I had tried at another place was not that great. I ordered 5 stars, but I couldn't tell if it was actually spicy or not because I added my own hot chili sauce right away. The only thing that I didn't like about the Pad Thai is that it didn't come with bean sprouts, which I really enjoy in pad Thai. So far, this may be my first choice for Thai in that area until I get to explore and try more places. read more

Coconut Thai is my go to Thai place on the Eastside. It's in a humble location with plenty of parking and right off I-90. Very clean and nice mom and pop shop feel. An their food is spot on! If you're craving for extra spice, be sure to mention you want the dish at 4 stars. My personal favorites: the pad see ew, crispy garlic supreme (chicken or veggies), spicy basil fried rice... the list goes on, but those three dishes are literally the best I've had in the Greater Seattle Area. Sadly, I wasn't thrilled with my lunch here, especially since I heard so many positive things about Coconut Thai. It had been on my list for awhile, so was disappointed when I left dissatisfied. My friend and I met here for lunch and I ordered the Lord Noodle, which is indicated as one of the chef specialties and is one of the street food items. Although it didn't take long to get our food, I didn't think the Lord Noodle was all that flavorful. It was pretty bland, from the ground chicken to the thick rice noodles, and even the sauce was lackluster. It was also watered down. For spice level, it's out of four stars, so to be on the safe side and not having been to Coconut Thai before, I ordered my dish with two stars. I could taste the heat, but it wasn't enough for it to be considered a spicy dish, which is how I prefer my Thai dishes to be prepared; so would advise for any spice lovers to crank it up a star. My friend ordered one of the lunch specials, where all the lunch combinations are about 10 bucks and it looked better than my dish. Next time I come for lunch, I'll have to take advantage of the cheap lunch combination. Staff was friendly and it's a nice spot before the main hub of Front Street. And the Thai Iced Coffee was bomb! But it's just far from my favorite Thai restaurant in Issaquah, which is Noodle Boat. However, I would certainly be back to try different dishes and hope it fares better. read more

There are a handful of Thai restaurants in the Issaquah area, but Coconut Thai is our favorite. Consistently fast and friendly service, and always great food. They have all the Thai standards you'd expect, and they don't cut corners on some of the side dishes like some places do -- their fried rice is very good, and their wonton soup is fantastic. Some of the other Thai restaurants are fancier inside, but none are better. COVID-19 comment: Nobody is doing a better job than they are handling takeout orders during the pandemic. Everything is sanitized, there's a big table between you and the person that rings you up, and they bring your order out to your car. read more

I don't usually write reviews three months late but I'm sitting here doing just that because I found the picture of the food I had here while deleting old photos and felt compelled to write one. PROS Clean restaurant, comfy seating, friendly wait staff, parking, decent food. CONS The dish my mother had was quite bland, and my pad see ew was disappointing. I had high expectations for this place, but they served me thin angel hair noodles for the pad see ew. Pad see ew is supposed to be made with broad rice noodles, and the waitress informed me that the restaurant had ran out of that type of noodle (which is used in quite a number of Thai dishes). I know it's just noodles, but it's like a bubble tea shop running out of the essential ingredient of tapioca pearls and leaving you with the tiny tapioca or lychee jelly as a substitute, despite the fact that it's a nonperishable item and the establishment should've kept plenty on hand. Went here for lunch today with a group of friends. We were seated immediately and the service was great throughout. Garden Roll - Fresh and delicious. The fried tempura in the center adds such a nice crisp textural element. Tom Kha - Excellent consistence, really flavorful, the lemongrass comes through nicely. I love that the chicken and the mushrooms are still juicy and not overcooked. A tad too salty for me but otherwise really nice. Pad Thai - Excellent. A tad too sweet but lots of veggies, nice tofu and generous portions. Definitely worth ordering. Get some lime on the side to add a nice zing to it. Kee Mao - Beautifully spiced, nicely cooked and very flavorful. Lots of veggies and well sauced. This is already on the spicy side so make sure you pick your spice level well. Rama Shower Noodles - This was honestly one of the only mehhh dish we got today. It was too sweet and peanuty and didn't really have a lot of flavor to it other than the over-powering peanut sauce. The chicken was also just boiled and didn't taste very nice. Pineapple Curry Fried Rice - This was spectacular. Perfectly spiced, beautifully seasoned, lots of veggies and not very greasy like many places. I would strongly recommend this dish. Coco Fried Rice - This was pretty average. Not seasoned, pretty bland and too much going on. Didn't feel like a Thai dish at all. Surprising considering how excellent the other dishes were. Not recommended. Lamb Shank Curry - Melt in your mouth tender, extremely flavorful, huge portion and one of the nicest lamb curries I've had in a while(yes I'm Indian and I know my curries). Highly recommended. Black Sticky Rice Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream - One of the best version of this dessert I've had. Perfectly sweet, beautifully cooked and delicious. Must have. Coconut Cupcake - There were a lot of good reviews about this. It was just ok. Nothing spectacular. Not bad but the pudding was so good that this was forgotten. Overall the food and service was absolutely outstanding. Very highly recommended. I'm so glad we just moved next door to this place. We're going to be going here very often. But the Pad Thai in lunch combo which came with curry and rice, wasn't the best. The Pad Thai was too creamy and sweet in our opinion. Not so nice Thai food for sure. Went as the reviews on Yelp were good. Probably the food was better months ago, it definitely wasn't well when I went in! Ordered Pad thai, Pine Apple fried rice and some other (not sure about the name) curry which the waitress suggested was their famous one. Reluctantly, we had ordered by what she suggested. I let the waitress know the food wasn't spicy like how I had ordered, and the dish that she suggested wasn't that great, to which she replied- Oh, that is our fav one, i dont know why you didn't like! A decent option if you're in the area. I wouldn't say anything was stellar, we ordered pad Thai, red curry, fried rice, salad rolls and spring rolls. Nothing really stood out as being incredible, but it definitely wasn't bad either. I would probably stop by again if I was in the immediate vicinity. For the most part, the food was pretty average and even bland for Thai (fried rice in particular). I had forgotten though that they did have an interesting salad on the menu (see the picture). I went here for lunch and have mixed feelings about the place. I ordered the Rama Shower. The service was excellent, the spring roll was fresh and crisp, and overall the Rama Shower was good. However, their lunch menu is confusing. At the top lists the various meats (chicken, tofu, pork, prawn, etc) with their prices so I assumed each lunch option came with a choice of meat and was priced accordingly. I wanted to order the Crispy Garlic with chicken, only to be told it does not come with chicken or any other meat - so then why list the meat options at the top with prices next to them? It's not clear which dishes come with meat at all, and kind of disappointing. Also, the lunch portions are on the small side and I assumed the Rama Shower would come with noddles, as the regular dinner entree does. Nonetheless, I'm going to come back for dinner and try one of their entrees, as they look appetizing. So I'm willing to try it again. read more
