My friend and I ended up at Tasty Thai for dinner. The restaurant was small, cozy, and clean. Service was good, it was only one server handling everything, luckily it wasn't as busy - no issues. We ordered family style, Gai Subb Pad Bai Kapraw and Spicy Noodles with Chicken only. The dishes came out hot. However, felt like both dishes were very similar in taste and were really sweet. This is small location with the space used to the max. The chandeliers are cute. The booth seats are looking a little worn. The service was slow and we did have to ask to get our water refilled, but the food is good. The panang curry was really good with lots of chicken and great flavor next time I will try the 4 star. It consisted of iceberg lettuce leaves, greasy overdone fried tofu, a few slices of cucumbers, a tiny bit of carrot and celery with large chunks of tired mushrooms.That's not what I ordered ! $18.95. Parking can be dicey. So many tiny parking spots and the parking lot is so busy. If you park by qfc side, it's not as packed. Since I didn't dine there, I just took a quick look at restaurant. Tasty Thai has been in Factoria's Loehmans Plaza as far as I can remember. It is a small and quaint restaurant near Greek Pita and Sideline Sports bar. I took my brother out for dinner here this past week. Originally, we were going to go out for pho at I Love Pho or Square Lotus, but both were closed on the Monday holiday (note that Square Lotus is always closed on Mondays regardless of holiday). We thus decided to go out for Thai food instead at Tasty Thai. The last time I went to Tasty Thai was probably about ten years ago. The layout, furniture, and lighting look all the same as it was before. We were seated immediately upon arrival. The restaurant was pretty empty; there were maybe two to three other parties eating there while we were there. However, a few people also came to pick up takeout while we there too. After perusing the menu, I decided to get the Spicy Noodles with chicken and prawns. My brother decided on the Pad Prikh King with chicken (2 stars). Note that the entrees do not come with ride, and so he ordered a side of brown rice (+$3). I originally was going to get a 3 star, but the woman serving us (who I think is also the owner) convinced me to get a 5 star since I like spice. I was hesitant at first, but decided to follow her recommendations. Our two dishes cost nearly $40 with tip and tax. We got our food within 15 minutes of ordering. The portions were generous and I had enough to take home for half a meal the next day. With that said, some of the vegetables seemed lukewarm like they weren't freshly cooked or heated. My 5-star spicy noodles tasted like a 1-2 star spicy max; I ended up adding extra chili paste from the bar to boost the spiciness. The noodles were also slightly too sweet. My brother's dish was good, but also a bit too sweet for my taste. I think the weirdest part of our experience was that there was no music playing at the restaurant. It was extremely quiet; too quiet that I could hear every word that the customers sitting across the room from us were saying. Ordered takeout tonight and was so excited for it, having had great food at Tasty Thai in South end & after reading all the reviews for this location. Only reason I'm even giving one star is because the green beans & prawns dish is delicious. The pad thai is so disgusting it isn't even palatable. It has an almost rotten taste to it which makes no sense given that it doesn't even have any protein selection in it. It was horribly chewy like it had been sitting out for days and was microwaved on high for way too long. I had to throw the entire thing out. The peanut sauce also had a very foul taste to it. I can't even begin to imagine how you ruin something as simple as peanut sauce but apparently it's possible. Didn't even taste like peanuts. Not even a hint. Also went in the trash. Thank goodness for the green bean dish but here's to hoping I don't regret eating it! read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. I have probably eaten at this venue over 50 times over the last 20 years or so. It is a very good American-style Thai food restaurant. Very sweet (almost too sweet) tasting food that sometimes I crave. I miss the good ol'days when they had lunch specials. I was pretty surprised how much they raised their prices in the last couple of years but I guess that is to be expected. Tasty Thai lives by its name! Dropped in with my girlfriend craving Thai food after a long tiring day of work and we instantly fell in love with this little cute restaurant. Decor is nice and simple but definitely the energy in there is what I felt gave me the best feeling before eating delicious. The lady who doubles as hostess/waitress is super sweet and her calm demeanor just makes you feel right at home and gives you a "Zen" peaceful feeling which is definitely needed after a chaotic day of work. After a quick ponder of the menu we decided to order Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao and to start our flavor jets the crispy calamari appetizer! - Pad Thai 10/10 Super super delicious and being Thai I'm picky, my grandma is a retired chef and this honestly gave me "ratatouille" effect and brought me priceless memories of her cooking! - Pad Kee Mao 9/10 Only reason it's not 10/10 is because the Pad Thai stole the show and if I had to knit pick the serving was a bit small but it was great tasting hot and fresh! - Crispy Calamari 100/10! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! If you love calamari you must order some of these delicious tender lite crispy deliciousness to pair with whatever main dish you choose. Some places have them battered too thick or some don't know how to prepare them so there tender when fried and they become chewy but Tasty Thai got it perfect! Will definitely come back for more delicious food because my girlfriend kept repeating that she loved this spot and the food was super comforting. I had their Tom Kha soup (with pork, which I didn't really want) about half an hour ago and I'm already having digestive problems and some nausea. When I came in, I was told to choose an empty table. After sitting, realized it had not been wiped down. I called the server over; he first tried to get me to move to another table, I said "no, please clean this one" (seriously?). Definitely the last time I'm eating here. Gave two stars because at least the service was prompt. If I don't feel better soon, I'm filing an official complaint with the Seattle King County department of health. read more

We got seated right away, service was very kind and the food was really good. I got the pad thai and the serving size was huge and the noodles had great flavor (3 stars is spicier than I thought it'd be - but still very good). When we went to go pick up the food, the owner was outside taking a smoke break and to-go orders seemed slim. We ordered a curry with tofu and 2 different types of noodles (one of them without egg). When we opened the take out food, we not impressed. We received curry with cold tofu and 2 same noodle orders both without egg and very pretty dry. The egg was in the wrong noodle dish from what we ordered too! Completely messed up the noodle order. Not impressed. Will have to try the Thai place across the street next time. read more

Stopped in on a Monday at lunch and ordered Pad Kee Mao, Chicken spice level 5. I asked to make sure that there is no fish sauce and she said that their sauce isn't made with fish sauce. It was ready in the expected 15 minutes and took it back to work to try as I haven't been back for a couple years. Opened it up and was hit with the delicious aroma of spices and no hint of seafood ( that my last dish, Pad Thai had seafood overload ). A lot of vegetables and even at five level for spice it wasn't too spicy but perfect. Really in love with this dish and my faith in Tasty Thai is renewed as I know it's normal to make Thai dishes with fish or oyster sauce but my last take out order really turned me away from this restaurant. - Not my cup of tea - Hubby and I picked a random restaurant to try on 1/1/2019, which is probably not a wise decision and this place proved me right.. It was quite empty and there's only one couple there at the time. It took them 30 sec to notice us even though the bell rings whenever the front door was pushed open. The waiter led us to our seats, but he never gave us the menu. After a while, he came back with the menus.. After we ordered our food, he asked us if we want to switch seats to the booth area (ones with more comfy seats), so we moved. So anyways, the service was fishy... but that's fine if the food is good, but.... The seafood salad that I ordered was SUPER SOUR!! WHAT THE HECK IS THAT DRESSING!?!?! I swear to god I haven't had this kind of dressing in any thai restaurants ever.. I believe they usually do it sour WITH SUGAR, so it's not too bad.. but this one, uhhhhhhhh nope. Also the portion is meh, just as I expected since I read other ppl's review. Hubby's pad thai was fine, but that silly goose ordered a 4 stars and had to take constant breaks when he was eating. Average Thai restaurant- food not bad, not amazing. Got pad Thai and Pad sew eew at 2 stars to get a baseline. Their 2 stars was more like 3 stars compared to similar restaurants. Pad Thai was standard, pad sew eew not robust in dark soy sauce, but tasted fine. Location- Easy to get to in Factoria Village ( near Uni Bank, Bartell's, Domino's) Service- standard Value- both noodle dishes were $12.95. Average, fair pricing. Recommend- not one way or the other. So disappointed. I ordered Tom Kha soup tonight because I am dealing with canker sores. Since Coconut and chicken broth are so healing, this should have been the perfect meal tonight. So I ordered this with zero stars. Zero stars should mean ZERO red chili's, no spice, right? Unfortunately when we arrived home and opened the soup, there were red pepper flakes in it. I just got an order of pine curry to go with rice and it was $24.90 first of all that's way too much for just one entrée they are at the very top of the pricing. The restaurant is not luxurious at all to that kind of price, there's no experience there. It's just a, deli style restaurant with a bunch of crap in the corner. The curry has green beans in it, which is very different and a couple of bell pepper slices. I got chicken. Good Thai food here. I had a chance to stop by, grabbing some Pad Thai and Black Rice Pudding. From initial impressions...I was going to pass them off as an unauthentic attempt to serve street food (not just food stands/kiosk but what most of Asia considers comfort food) compared to some really amazing Thai kitchens I've tried. After nearing the end of the meal...I was able to really appreciate how balanced the pad thai was. It wasn't overpowering at all, eventually becoming addictive with enough nuance to keep you wanting more. The chicken provided was moist, vegetables fresh n crunchy, with spice levels proposed for those wanting more of a kick. One thing most Pad Thai dishes suffer from is the heavy use of oil and potent sauces. Not here, so you finish with a clean feel. The Black Rice Pudding tasted sweet enough and threw me back to a time I tried my first Thai dessert while visiting. Of course, I will need to try the Satay and other items on the menu...so another visit from me is expected. If you're on the fence, don't be. Do it. read more

There aren't many solid lunch choices in Factoria, despite what it seems like and Tasty Thais is definitely a solid choice. I think the 3.5 stars is totally appropriate because sometimes their service is inconsistent. The good news is you can order takeout or via Uber eats, which is excellent because you can avoid the wait that many folks are writing about in their reviews. When you dine in, you receive a complimentary bowl of egg drop soup. It's a solid soup and gives you time to determine your order. I usually order fried rice with vegetables. Every time I order this they ask me several times if I'm sure I don't want meat, but sue me, it's how I like my fried rice. Thai restaurants always ask which level of spice you wish, based on a star rating (1, least spicy, 5 most spicy). I ALWAYS order off scale and request my fried rice "Thai spicy." A lot of restaurants tone down the spice for American palates but I'm serious about my heat and want to challenge the chef to bring it on. Sometimes, it's on fire, other times less so. They are always kind and attentive. * Prices are basically in line with the other Thai spots in Factoria, however, TastyThai doesn't charge you extra for BEEF! (They do charge extra for prawns like every other place). CONs: * A lot of other Thai restaurants offer complimentary soup or salad w/peanut sauce. You won't get that here. * It's a little small. One of the walls is covered by a large mirror and booths. The booths realllly need some sort of divider between each booth. During my dinner I could hear nearly every word of conversation of the couple behind me without even trying. Ontop of that, if you look into the mirror, you can usually see the people in the booth in front of you.. kind of odd.
