I didn't have the greatest trip to Coco Bowls. Now, it wasn't terrible, but it just wasn't on par with the other smoothie shops I've been to. I glanced at the menu for a few minutes, and then asked for the peanut butter protein smoothie. And then, I waited, and waited, and waited. Apparently, there was a miscommunication between the two (2) girls working there, where one of them thought that I had already gotten my order, and the other thought that her co-worker was about to make it. I don't want to be mean, because I know it was an honest mistake and things happen, but the smoothie wasn't that good either. The interior was modern, with minimal decor. They did have some seating available, but it seemed like many customers placed orders to-go. I chose the Unforgettabowl with an Acai base, but they also had the option to build your own bowl. Service was friendly and pretty quick. The Unforgettabowl really hit the spot, and all the ingredients tasted fresh. I liked the crunchiness of the flax seeds and cacao nibs. The bowl wasn't super filling, but smoothie bowls rarely are. This is my 3rd time getting an açaí bowl and it definitely hit the spot this time. I haven't had it since last summer I believe and today I was just craving it. My bf ordered it for me through DoorDash, and it was super easy to pick and choose what I wanted. I got the cococraze bowl with the mango/pineapple base, and I subbed bananas for kiwi, it also comes with strawberries and pineapple, granola, coconut flakes and caramel drizzle. Let me just say I LOVE the flavor of mango and pineapple. It is semi sweet and tangy and the caramel drizzle gives it a little more sweetness but it is not overpowering. It comes in a big bowl , not sure the size but I was able to finish it (because I'm greedy haha) but for others it's enough for you to save if you can't finish it. I can't remember the price in store but on DoorDash one bowl is $14.40. They also have smoothies if you prefer that over the bowls. If you love açaí bowls and smoothies , this is a 10/10. I live in Charlotte and have yet to find a place that offers the coconut base I got in my bowl here and at the firm texture their base has. By far the best Açaí bowls in the Columbia area. I may or may not be an Açaí connoisseur. The base always tastes fresh, I always get the açaí base but recently started getting the Coconut and Pitaya base. Very good and I love that I can build my own. The bases are the perfect amount of sweetness, it doesn't have that artificial taste to it. The service has always been amazing, very friendly workers. I was craving açãi but didn't want to go to our usual spot, Corner Blend. I loved the decor and how much seating there is. It's very modern looking. I ordered the Nutella bowl. Unfortunately, the açãi base was too watery, even icy, and not thick like it should be. It was lacking that açãi flavor I was hoping for. It quickly melted even though we sat down to eat it right away. I did like how the toppings were placed and the quality of the strawberries and bananas. They put a lot of açãi so it was a good balance. Some açãi places don't put enough of the base. And I LOVED that the Nutella drizzle was warmed up and they were not cheap with how much they added. They were not busy when we arrived, only two other people there, and two employees working. The tables were so sticky and dirty. The floors had crumbs and even Cheetos we had to move to another table that didn't look as bad. read more
