The shop is conveniently located near the campus for the University of South Carolina. They seem to offer an assortment of meals but I opted for getting a smoothie. I ordered the "Pomegranate Plunge" which had pomegranates, cranberries, bananas, and strawberries. The drink was delicious while also being quite satiating for the $7 it cost. The atmosphere is nice but it's is mostly just college students coming in-and-out of the store. The staff was kind and helpful throughout the whole process as well. I usually get the Avocolada as it reminds me of a similar drink I used to get at my fave smoothie spot in my old city, and it's always well-made. I did try one of the more naturally sweetened options on my last visit, and while very different, I appreciated the less sweet taste...and calories. I've also tried the Peanut Punch before, and a few others (whose names I'm blanking on). I've visited this location multiple times and this time, my experience had been no different. I absolutely love this location but parking can be a monster. Today, I stopped by here for lunch and I drove around a few times before finally parking down the street and walking. Not a deal breaker. Once inside, I was greeted and I placed my order. A chicken pesto flatbread and an Avocalado smoothie. Deelish! I received my smoothie pretty quickly but my flatbread took a minute. Once I got it, I walked back to my car and headed back to work. These two are delicious separately and together. I will come back here again and again as this location is close to my job. The staff is nice and friendly, so it makes them a prime location for me. You would think if you had broken doors to your establishment that did not open, you would put up a sign on those doors to use the other doors so that customers would not think you were closed, especially when your employees would ignore the customers that tried to enter through your broken doors. AVOID AT ALL COST! This location can never seem to get it right. Last visit 5/12, I ordered a Baja chicken wrap that was undercooked. The rice was soooo hard in the wrap. I had to dispose of my meal. The customer service is so poor!! It's been almost a month and I've yet to receive my refund. Every time I reach out I'm told to email someone named Sarah but haven't received a response. Upon calling after days of no response I called. The manager on site showed absolutely no concern to my issue and refused to speak to me (I can hear him telling an employee there's nothing he can do about it and refusing to take the phone) I explain it's been a month and I'd rather speak with management. The employee lays the phone down until I hung up. I'll never patronize this business again. Edit: In response to the owner's super prompt reply to my review, although it's been almost a month since I've been contacting this location for a refund. My reference to undercooked was to the rice which I also mentioned was extremely hard and dry all throughout my wrap. Hence the reason it had to be disposed, not eaten. Also are you not going to respond to the poor customer service shown considering the fact that I've been requesting a refund for almost a month since the date of purchase and how your manager on site wasn't willing to even speak with me about it before an employee placed the phone on hold until I hung up? Or was it just important to respond to try to discredit my honest review? Have you even contacted staff at the location to see if this issue occurred at your location before responding? They are made with fresh ingredients and they have good variety when it comes to different flavors. You can also add different supplements and boosters (energizer, protein, fat-burner, immune booster, etc.) to any smoothie for $0.69. Right now, I'm loving real hard on their "breakfast smoothie. " it's got bananas and cinnamon and Chia seeds and other grains. And you get to choose to mix in peach, strawberry, or peanut butter. Peach for me, please! In regard to value, I prefer Tropical Smoothie over Smoothie King. Don't get me wrong, Smoothie King makes some mean smoothies, but the smoothies at Tropical are more robust in flavor (in my opinion) and they are easier on you wallet. Service seems to be a little nicer too. I always feel like they are silently judging me over at smoothie king. Giving me the "you're not in workout gear, what are you doing here? These smoothies are only for fitness junkies" eyes. Can't I just have a smoothie because I like smoothies? Well you can at Tropical. This Tropical smoothie on Lincoln St. Is pretty good in the morning and early afternoon. However, the last shift could definitely use some tightening up. The should be smoothies are to stiff and are more milkshak-ish. There's no team effort do that means its one person that does mostly every and she's obviously new and in training. I go to tropical cafe a lot since it's next to my office building. I spent at least $300 there so far and always had good experience with the food and the smoothie. But today I ordered a simple breakfast southwest wrap and waited for almost half an hour. It was not that busy and the guy who ordered after me got his food. I usually choose tropical cafe because it's fast and healthy but I'm really disappointed with my experience today. Service is always great when I come to this place. I've been to two other Tropical Smoothie's around town and they all have great customer service. I ordered my normal Strawberry Limeade smoothie and the chipotle chicken flatbread and everything was great no complaints. The parking will be a problem at this location. The available parking in the front of the store is meter parking but if that is full there is a parking lot on the other side but only reserved for USC student parking with decals. Overall still my favorite place to grab a refreshing smoothie. read more

The atmosphere is very minimalistic, colorful, and cozy with a really spacious area to dine in. The people behind the counter were fast, friendly, and attentive. I tried the Avocolada smoothie that they were featuring and it was phenomenal. Alos, the smoothies are served in 20 ounce cups unless specified which makes this girl very happy. I had the Rustic turkey and apple club and it was very unique and delicious. There was so many other things on the menu that I will have to go back and try though. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is because while the Flatbread my boyfriend had (feisty feta chicken) was really good, it didn't include sides like the sandwiches and wraps and really needed one to make it actually filling enough. Well. I love Tropical Smoothie. Kind of a go to for me on lunch break. The Bahama Mama is my all-time favorite smoothie. I don't know of another place that has one that compares to it for me. But they also have a large variety of health smoothies - my favorite when I'm on a health kick is the Island Green with no sugar. You don't really need sugar because of the fruit which also balances out the light kale and spinach flavor. I usually order ahead of time because they're typically pretty busy at lunch time and it might take a little while. read more
