Hmmm. They moved from Thibodaux where I didn't line it to raceland where it's more authentic but not awesome. Had the quesadilla lunch. Portion was skimpy but plate was big. Chips and 2 salsas were good but did not cause me to spontaneously break into song. Nothing here left me saying that's so authentic with secret ingredients I can't possibly produce in my kitchen at home. Overall I regret the inadvertent repeat. Dining dollars better spent elsewhere. Lots of quality competition in the area. I could have done better elsewhere. Not very covid friendly. Lots of chin masking and didn't see gloves. Closest diner to me was not 6 ft distant read more

Top 5 Mexican food restaurants that I've tried in Louisiana for sure! I really thought I'd have to drive all the way to New Orleans forever in order to get decent Mexican food around here. It's usually very Americanized and just not flavorful. But THIS place has changed that! Great service and great food! Super flavorful and hands down my favorite restaurant in this area. This place is very good. The service can be lacking at times due to the servers being new and not really having a good grasp of the menu but never had a bad experience with grumpy or disrespectful service persons. The serving size of the California burrito is huge and it is very tasty. I will return often. read more

Been there several times since they open, always good food and service till today. Took 20 mins to get chips and dip and another 12 mins for someone to ask for our drink order. So happy on the decision to drive to Mathews from Thibodaux. Carnitas were moist and tender and seasoned perfectly. The rice had small pieces of potatoes and corn. It was sooo good! We arrived at noon on a Saturday, finally got our food--one plate at a time-- at 1:45. Spoke to owner, she couldn't have cared less. No apology, no "how can we fix this". I tried so hard to be patient, but when several tables came in after us and were done eating and we hadn't even gotten our food yet, I had to say something to management. Then to get no response was more than I could deal with. We will never go back. read more
