I had a great hot stone pedicure with Patty today. I walked in, and there was no wait on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Patty did a nice job on my nails, and the leg massage with hot stones was worth the extra $10. She also gave me a shoulder massage while my toenails were drying. Besides for the horrible and sloppy paint job (pictured), I'm most upset about the lady filing the top of nails down to nothing! I didn't realize what she was doing at the time but she filed the top of my nails so thin it hurts :( They're bending so much and I'm traveling to Greece in a few days. I usually get gel manicure and hot stone pedicures and they have a wide variety of high quality nail polishes that always lasts more than 2 weeks. I called for a 1:00 appointment and was asked to come at noon. I walked in and salon was busy and maybe had too many people inside but otherwise looked clean and safe. They took my temperature and there is plexiglass hanging all around giving the appearance of social distancing when in fact every chair was being used. Anyway the woman assigned to do my pedicure started the water and I sat unattended for about 10 minutes. She then came over and filed my nails, pushed and cut cuticles and scrubbed my soles in less than 4 minutes! Then she left and worked on another client and proceeded to do a full pedicure while I sat!! 20 minutes later, after I finally took my feet out of cold water, someone else came over to me to start the 10 minute massage I originally requested. I said please just polish my nails, I'm out of here! Yes they apologized but there was no excuse for filling up the salon the first week open. While I sat drying my nails 3 more women came in for 1:00 appointments and 2 other women were already sitting with their feet in the water waiting for their service. The worst fact is after my short file service she left me with her tools and went to the other woman and used the same tools on her! Normally my go-to place and I'm sorry I had such a poor experience. I feel more concerned she was using the same tools on us especially given the pandemic we are dealing with. Certainly not the relaxing experience I was hoping for. I only tipped the employee who painted my nails. Guess I have to find a new nail salon! read more

They do an okay job and their pedicure package is very relaxing and even includes a free mimosa or other beverage. However, I recently made an appointment for me and a few members of my family and there were issues that could have been avoided. Firstly, when we arrived for our appointment, there were not enough technicians available even though I had made my appointment a week in advance and was exactly on time. We had to wait about 15 minutes for our appointment to start. The attendant offered as a mani pedi package for $30 even though our appointment was only for a manicure and we agreed because of the reasonable pricing. After that, things went well until the end when it was time for payment. Before we started our appointment the front desk attendant told us the price for a mani pedi was $30. Our technicians didn't tell us until we had already gotten our nails buffed that the price was actually $40. The attendant wasn't there at the time so we couldn't confirm with her and paid so we could finish our mani pedi as the technicians became very distraught and wouldn't believe that the attendant told us the price that she did. My technician even complained that we had come in at 6 and they had to stay past closing even though we had an appointment which they weren't prepared for and their attendant offered us the mani pedi package knowing how long it would take. Finally the attendant came back to the salon and admitted that she told us the wrong price. If the salon had good customer service, they would have apologized and given us a gift card or some sort of discount card for a future transaction. Instead one of the technicians tried to laugh it off and apologized and the other attendants never apologized. There are enough salons in Ambler with cheaper pricing and similar services that I see no need to come back to CocoBlue. read more

This place is absolutely amazing! I went around 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon and was expecting it to be busy since it was a weekend. There were only 2 or 3 customers in there, plenty of staff. I was immediately greeted (and genuinely greeted, like big smiles and everything) and I asked for an eyebrow wax and a gel manicure. The same girl performed both of my services, her name tag said Ella. I can be very finicky with both of these services, I obsess over uniformity. If one eyebrow is shaped differently than the other, I get nuts. Same goes for my nails. When they're not all the same length, when there's a rough edge, and the mother of them all: when a French manicure has unevenly painted tips. Ugh. I am very pleased to share that Ella passed through all of these areas with flying colors! She did a fantastic job on both my eyebrows and my nails! I moved to Glenside over a year ago and have been struggling to find a nail salon that I liked, but this one has completely won me over. Prices are a little steep but I won't go anywhere else! I paid $55 for gel manicure, French manicure polish, and eyebrows. So worth it!! Especially after the complimentary massage!! read more

If you get acrylics, I wouldn't recommend going here. The people are nice but my nails are always done the correct way anywhere else I go. This place was easily the worst place I've been to for acrylic nails. The woman who did my nails, Jenny, was very nice but took almost an hour and a half for a full set. That's never been the case for any other set I've gotten. The nails were to wide for my fingers to begin with, and no nail matched nor had a clean look. My nails were lumpy and thick, and had streaky polish over top. And on top of it, another employee was recording me and taking video of myself and other customers in the salon without consent. I was looking directly in the phone and when she turned to proceed with the video I could see on her phone that was, in fact, what she was doing. I felt very uncomfortable the entire time I was there. I was seconds away from telling them to stop touching me. While the massage was nice, it didn't make me feel better about the whopping 35 dollars (ballsy for them to charge so much) on my disgrace of finger nails. Other than that, which I have experienced twice and have been has happened to a friend of mine, the salon is clean, friendly, and wonderful. Just got the most amazing hot stone pedicure from Suzy! And I am seriously picky about my pedicures! The atmosphere is calming, serene and very, very clean! Quite often I let my mind wander to things that are stressful (like my To Do List) when I'm sitting still (like at a nail appointment) but Suzy's leg and foot massage was so wonderful it made me put away my phone and planner and sit back and enjoy! The color application was flawless, and a shoulder massage while you're drying is protocol. Suzy even came back to crouch down to the floor to apply that drying oil to my toes and then came back to check if my toes were dry and help me put my sandals back on! They did a very good job on my nails but the reason I am giving one star is simply because they charged me a lot more than the original price I was told. I was originally told on the phone it would cost me $35 for a gel refill, that is no problem. I even called back to confirm the asking price because I was stopping at the bank to take cash out before hand. They told me again $35, I even felt like an annoyance from confirming the asking price multiple times. Once I got to the salon they were awesome very friendly and helpful. When it was time to check out the lady told me $45. I was very confused and asked them where the $10 came from. They said because I got my nails filed they had to charge an extra $10. I told them that would be no problem but they should tell the paying customer DURING the service that they are being charged for more, not just go ahead and make them pay more at the end. After I told them to tip 10% because 1. I had no extra money and 2. I was a little upset about having to pay extra. The lady told me "can you do 12% instead?" It was very rude. I went to get my eyebrows waxed Sunday (5/31) at 2 pm and not only the woman was lacking the skills needed to provide a comfortable experience (she pinched my actually eyeball, left wax all over my eyebrows, used no cream whatsoever). I am not a picky person and didn't even ask for it.. when I paid she said :it's gonna be $12, I gave her a $20 and she gave me $5 back: I said oh I gave you a $20. She then proceeded to say: I charged more because I had to cut eyebrows. I said hold on so I am being charged more because my eyebrows had to be cut. Isn't that inclusive of the $12 I have been paying since hey opened this location????? She then repeated this 3 more times.. I took the $5 and said: this is extremely weird and it never happened to me, thank you for the service. Not sure if on top of that she was expecting a tip??????? I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO COCO BLUE NAIL AMBLER AND WILL ADVISE ANYONE I KNOW NOT TO DO SO EITHER. This is an embarrassment. Train your employees, charging almost 30% more a client is wrong and unethical. Do you get charged more at the gym if you use the treadmill for too long ? Do you get charged extra at a restaurant for sitting there too long? No!!! You charged more because this business is a shady enterprise that makes up prices as they go and tries to get away with it. I didn't receive a receipt of any sort. I called back an asked how much it cost to get eyebrows done : same woman said on the phone it's $12 :) WORST EXPERIENCE , I have been going here and tipping every single time since they opened.
