This was my one of my fave travel breakfasts ever. There were two Coco Frutti locations I visited in Kingston and this one was a bit more upscale. I believe the building is newer, the decor was fancier and I really loved the atmosphere. The menu offers plenty of choice without being overwhelming. They also serve alcohol, and anyone who knows me is well aware of my mimosa obsession. The mimosa here is top notch. My server was Rebecca, such a hard-working and sweet person. The restaurant was busy and she was the only server I saw. If she was handling the whole place by herself, you would never know. She handled those tables like a pro. The computer system even went down shortly after I'd placed my order. The guys at the table in front of me had to wait for their bill, but she was so apologetic and professional. Handled that situation like a pro too. She never missed a beat. I was so excited about the Tex-Mex Benny. I could even get the poached eggs and veggies on a gluten-free buckwheat crepe. It was such a treat. The hollandaise at some places can be too mustard forward, but it is perfectly balanced here. The plate also came with guacamole and crispy potatoes that were tender inside. The breakfast was fabulous, just fantastic and I ate every bite. Both locations were very good, but this one edged the other out in decor/seating/colour scheme of the building and there were more veggies on the benny at this location. But both servers were top notch. I tipped Rebecca well. That girl was working so hard and never broke her professional, kind manner. Some places treat me less than being a solo diner, but she treated me like every other table and even took the time to ask me about my day. It's a serious plus when your server take the time to get to know you a little bit. She asked me if I made a mistake with the tip and I told her no, she was working so hard and always making the best of a situation that was difficult at times. She teared up. Such a sweet hardworking person. She made the experience as much as the food and drink did. If you want a fantastic breakfast/brunch, stop in here. You will not be disappointed. I definitely want to visit Kingston again and will always stop in here for that amazing Tex-Mex Benny! read more

This review is for the Napanee location of Coco Frutti. My daughter and I attended for breakfast and there were only a couple other tables with customers. Our waitress was wonderful and the service from her was wonderful, but the food was a different story. It took what seemed like forever for our food to arrive. My daughter ordered the rainbow crepe and mid way through eating, discovered a strawberry that had been semi sliced with the green top still on it. The flavours were decent with the crepe, although after a taste of it that she offered, I found the English cream to be pretty bland. I had ordered the Florentine Eggs Benedict for myself with a side of ham. Being a huge foodie and very fluent home chef, I was extremely disappointed to find the eggs over-poached, the hollandaise bland and too runny, and the spinach was cold. My side of ham also came out 5 minutes later, and very much resembled a piece of fried bologna sliced in half. I would like to give Coco Frutti another chance, but I doubt it will be in the near future, and I'm positive it will not be the Napanee location. read more

Terrible. Got the wrong order. Waited 40 minutes and the restaurant was not busy. Food was warm, the meat looked like it was sitting out, look and tasted dry. It seems that they literally gave us somebody elses as not even the bread was the same order. What we ordered came with fruit, so we asked for a side as this did not. Again, we had to ask. End of day, they didn't charge us for the fruit but did for the bad food and wrong order. Bad food, bad manager, bad experience. Can't give a -1 star, so I guess it gets a 1. read more

I think the food is a 3, but I am giving 4 stars because: 1) No wait for a table for 8! 2) Service was sublime 3) Turkey bacon and beef sausages! (All halal) 4) Very reasonably-priced I am not a frequent bruncher (is that a word) but I had a good time here and would recommend it to someone passing by Kingston. There is a variety of food in both sweet and savoury categories. I elected to have a simple breakfast as I don't eat a ton in the morning (egg + 1 side). The portion was overall generous but the fruit pieces were relatively few in number compared to the healthy heap of potatoes (the venue is economizing, I see). Apart from that, no real complaints. The servers were very warm and helpful in answering our questions, pointed out a lot of options (including halal sausages which I've NEVER had offered at brunch before!) and checked in on us regularly despite the brunch rush. The washrooms are very clean, the food is just fine (maybe not something to write home about but definitely not bad!) and the prices were very much fair. Would come again! read more

Amazing experience during my second time trying Coco Frutti in Kingston! Staff were very nice and quickly found us a table, they were happy to accommodate my Nan's mobility issues and found a table that worked. Our waitress Erica was FABULOUS, an absolute dream!! Prices are very fair considering the portion sizes! We were super hungry when we came in and Erica was great helping us navigate the new covid menu (since everything was moved around). She answered all of our questions and was quite knowledgeable about the menu! I got the Coco 4 Niagara Falls which came with 2 eggs, choice of meat (I did sausages), fruit, homefries, toast and a crepe or french toast (I did crepe) with chocolate hazelnut and banana- which Erica happily swapped to strawberries for me - this cost $15.50 which I think is more than fair. My Nan got the Salty Special which comes with homefries, fruit, 3 savoury crepes - one with ham and cheese, one with bacon and cheddar, and one with spinach and cheddar (which Erica so kindly changed to a banana and chocolate hazelnut since my Nan wanted something sweet too) for $17.95 - again we thought it was definitely a fair price for the portion. I know, I know...when in a breakfast place and you should stick to breakie but I threw caution to the wind and ordered a hamburger! Not a good choice. Sad frozen patty and the accompanying Caesar salad was all wilted and swimming in dressing. Their potatoes were good though. On a positive, my husband had a trio of crepes and fruit that looked awesome. The place is nice but I think they have an identity problem. For instance they have ceiling to floor chandeliers with decorative barnyard type crates underneath. A little glam and a little country. They also have mini lighted billboards thruout the restaurant advertising the specials of the day. They did comp me 25 percent off the bill for my lunch being so dreadful so that was nice. This is honestly one of the worst experiences . I also posted a FB review as well but I am so shocked at how it was handled . I was told the other customers thought the server was good and then they started to Change their FB review. Food was cold yet they were arguing about all the other customers loving the server and swearing that they care about customers. The complaint was bad food that was cold - Anyways lots of talk about backing their service , caring about customers and rectifying this but no actual offer to rectify, funny! Denny's quality breakfast food with Cora's pricing, minus the beautiful fruit arrangements. Not sure what they're trying to be here but nothing is quite right. On the plus side it's easy to get a table since it's mostly empty. Locals go to Eggsquis (cheaper/proper diner) or Toast & Jam (pricey/fancy for guests). I don't expect this place to be open in another year. read more

Big restaurant, so even on busy weekends you can usually get seated right away. The staff is very friendly, which makes a difference in my book, especially at breakfast when you're starting your day. The food is quite good (not amazing). I'll most often get the meatlover's omelette and I'm always happy with the huge portion. Ambiance is nice and washrooms are beautiful. Overall great spot if you want a good filling breakfast, and are OK without being "wow-ed" by the food. read more

We went in just after the lunch rush on a Friday. We were warmly greeted and immediately seated. Our server came over right away to offer beverages and was friendly and humorous. Our meals were beautifully presented on the plates and were so very tasty! We will be visiting this establishment again soon, as the food and services were awsome! read more
