My experience was not pleasant, this place oversells their tickets and the place gets ridiculously crowed. The line to enter is about one hour long just to go inside and make another line. We had to pay extra money to skip this line, just to be pushed near the bar, where the show was not visible, all I saw was a bunch of young people dancing to tecno in the center stage. Expect to be shoulder to shoulder with high or drunk people and be stepped on and with not even one emergency exits visible. Women Beware We were in Cancun to celebrate the Bachelorette party of my sister and were looking forward to spending our final night of the trip at Coco Bongo. We really enjoyed the first few hours at the club, and we had even upgraded from regular tickets to table service. Our fun ended abruptly during the portion of the show where guests are invited to dance on the bar. My sister's friend in our group was one of those people. At some point, a strong jet of air blasted up from the bottom of the bar, up her dress, revealing her to the entire audience. Many people were recording the event on their phones. There was even a spotlight that was aimed directly at her. Whether this was an automatic programmed feature (as the manager we later spoke to had claimed), or controlled by a person, it was clearly intentional in its desired effect. To reveal a woman in public without her consent is sexual harassment, if not assault. We left the club immediately and spoke to three different managers, all blatantly refusing to refund us for a completely ruined experience. One manager (an older man) even admitted to us that "It happens all the time". In addition to the humiliation and trauma our friend endured, she is now facing the reality that video recordings of the event are now in the possession of countless strangers. Unfortunately, one does not need to search the internet for long before finding numerous recordings of similar things happening to other women at Coco Bongo, being shared around forums of perverted men. It is extraordinarily difficult to have such content removed from the internet, and this could have a real and lasting impact on our friend. The fact that Coco Bongo continues to utilize this stunt to humiliate women is revolting. Please reconsider visiting this club! There are so many other fun places to go in Cancun. read more

It is a good time for what it is. An overpriced tacky, sticky, tourist trap and dance party. Some families were unexpectedly sold tickets from our hotel thinking it would be appropriate for children- the night show most definitely is NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. There is copious alcohol and a stage where women will be pulled on stage to twerk and a fan will blow up their skirts so everyone can see what they are (or arent) wearing underneath. The open bar was a pretty good value and it was easy to get drinks though the appetizer wasn't actually a thing. It was packed, so even if you have a table we were constantly being jostled and bumped around. But the music was a pretty good mix of rock, latin and pop music and the performers were really good and had some nice acrobatics. It would have been more fun if I was a college student, I just don't think I'm the target demographic for this experience. read more

We were really skeptical about how much these tickets cost but once we entered we were really glad we came. We were told not to get a table/bottle but 100% wish we would have. It was awful not having a seat and being moved around constantly and being bumped into. Even with that we still had a really great time. The performers were great and kept the audience engaged. We paid $226 for 2 general tickets on 9/3, guessing it was this much due to the Labor Day holiday. It was PACKED but everyone was polite and having fun for the most part. Drinks are included and were easy to get. Restrooms were clean, smoking area right at the entrance inside. I would definitely come again and get a table/bottle and sit and enjoy more of the show. It relies heavily on crowd participation. Each little performance is demarcated by music and dance for attendees. Things to keep in mind: Ticket system is predatory. Buy the basic ticket online, then upgrade to a VIP table once your inside. If you buy the gold member ticket and arrive late, you will have a horrendous seating assignment. Skip the BS and just expect to pay more once you're there. Know what you're getting into. Coco Bongo likes to focus on females in the crowd. And everyone is there to have fun. But if you don't like the limelight, it might not be for you. If you wear a skirt and don't want people to see what's underneath, don't climb up on the stage. Overall, its a good time. Be aware of her, we got general entrance and she quickly came and talked us in to getting a table which was actually incredible! We attended the New Years Eve celebration at Coco Bongo (12-31-19). When you first arrive, get a drink. It may be the last drink you get all night. The place gets so packed, you literally cannot move. Where to stand: Stay away from the sides. You will literally get pushed over onto the stairs and the staff will not allow you to stand on the sides because that space is reserved for those that bought a table ticket. I literally got a severe rub burn on the entire side of my calf from being pushed so hard by the crowd; I used my let to brace myself against the risers where the tables sat so I would not fall over. Stay to the center. You will get a great look at the shows and NOT be pushed over constantly! Purchasing a table: I would NOT buy a table close to the main floor. We were told by two different people at two different resorts the the $120 per ticket price was for front row and all you can drink top shelf drinks. #1 When we arrived we were asked if we wanted to upgrade our seats to front row floor for an additional charge. (No) #2 the drinks were not top shelf and when they made a mixed drink if tasted like a bag of sugar water.. my wife drank three Long islands two cosmos and a vodka soda and never even got a buzz. I had to stop drinking after my first two and we're adding shots on the sides just to pour into the drink but if you smelled the shot and tasted it before you poured it in it tasted like rubbing alcohol.. #3 they advertise gourmet bar samplers! Chips and a cup of nacho cheese with a film on top is not gourmet. #4 We were put up on the top in the back, I'm assuming that's because I said I didn't want to upgrade and pay their gouging rates! For the first 30 minutes it looked like just a bunch of people waving the arms around with no actual rhythm or choreography, finally they did the some acrobatics but it looks like the same show that they've been putting on for the last 20 years.. only now you're confined to a seat and a very small area where you can dance with who you're with. #4 all the people trying to sell you pictures with guys and smelly costumes, and the shotgirl that came around and tried to sell you $5 of some Mexican vodka. Manager and employees are really rude. Bought tickets through an agency who are partnered up with them and they ended up denying us the stuff that they had promised. Employees were seen pouring a powdered like substance into drinks that customers were ordering from their tables. This was really sketch and after they (employees) noticed that I saw them doing that they started to follow my group and i everywhere we went. If i went to the restroom 2 guys would follow and the same thing with the girls. They tried to cover up whatever they were doing by giving us a free bottle and giving us a better table. BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY If you're looking to overspend on a glorified nightclub, claiming to offer a "show," this is the place to go to. Buckle up... there's a lot to tell. Standard pricing does not get you access to sit, nor are you allowed to stand by the stand-alone tables. You're basically standing around the small stage in the center of the club. You drink and eat standing. Which you find out soon enough, this is basically a night club with dancers, and they pepper in fluff performances. You are not getting a "show". They tried selling us the upgrade for almost 150 usd to get a table and bottle. Ummmm, no. But then they have a main stage where if you paid standard, you won't be able to see half the performance because the bottom half is blocked, so only vip could see the full "show". When it FINALLY started... LATER than advertised (we were still waiting in line at 9pm), it was 40 minutes of a bunch of dancers on the center stage, dancing in the messiest ways. Some parts with no choreography others with the most basic of choreography that wasn't in sync. The aerials were mediocre at best. You'd see more and far better perfomances at your local circus for 15 bucks. At one point, they played familiar songs with the videos on a big screen. No show, just music videos and audience dancing on the stage and on the dancer balconies and cameras focused on groups of the audience dancing by their seats... like... I didn't pay to see the audience dance for several songs. Ridiculous! Beetlejuice... omg... the music made no sense, the showy part made no sense. They had the dancers up on the main stage... again... horrible choreography and they can't sync for the life of them. Then Beetlejuice got hooked up to do some aerial spins with a little person dressed as Beetlejuice and a woman dressed as Lydia. They just moved back and forth and flipped in the air. No rhyme or reason. Michael Jackson was a JOKE. None of the dancers danced like MJ... not even the main guy. How do you have an MJ performance and you can't dance even close to MJ? There was a lot of screen stuff that was unnecessary and or didn't make sense. Food- the slider is tiny and didn't taste good. Fries were great, but you get about 7 chips. The hot dog was fine. The staff was friendly. Make sure to read all the one star reviews. We didn't and wasted our money. You get unlimited alcohol, a table to sit at inside the club/disco, and have a phenomenal view for the show. What I recommend which what my girlfriend and I did is arrive to Coco Bongo at 8:00pm, enjoy the bar with unlimited alcohol and get your buzz on! The doors open at 10:00pm so definitely get in line around 9:40pm so you get first come first serve basis on a good table or good counter where you get to sit and have the best view in the House! Service at the bar and inside the club was phenomenal! Your alcohol glass or mug is never empty, you can choose from any liquor, any wine and any beer you desire. Now the show is from 10:00pm to 4:00am but the time flies so fast because you are locked in to every performance! This show is good for all ages! If you were born in this century you will be entertained! The show has impersonators that are top notch who reenact rockstars, performers, actresses and actors so well it's insane! From Michael Jackson to Guns N Roses to Kiss and even the legendary band Queen! They reenact every movement and are dressed to the key like all the rockstars! They also reenact iconic movie scenes with acrobatics and mesmerizing dancers/performers. Scenes come from Tron, Moulin Rouge, Vogue, Beatlejuice and of course The Mask! Honestly so many performances to keep track of! Either way this was the highlight of our trip! Honestly you can cab from your hotel for about $10 and cab back for around $15 from the club back to your hotel. Make sure to not get ripped off! Came here for my cousins bachelor party and man is this a fun time. We did do vip service since there was a lot of us but this is a great spot to go to. The show that they put on it amazing and super fun. Now it does get super super crowded so that is annoying especially if you're buying bottles. They literally have everyone sitting on top of each other which we didn't mind since there was a bachelorette party right next to us as well but in most cases I could see this being an issue for them. The service was pretty decent, the music was good the crowd was good. Overall it's a good spot to come to, now I know it gets expensive for this show so just be prepared to spend a pretty penny on this spot. Also we booked it through our resort but leaving we were told to meet our bus driver at 330 am in a parking lot. He didn't show up until 445. So just be mindful of transportation as well. read more

I'm giving this place 2 stars because of how we were treated. Let me start off by saying the show itself is amazing and so much fun! We had booked the VIP section like 4 months in advance for 6 people it's cost us about $1200. We get to the venue it's jammed packed we still have to wait to get in even with VIP tickets. The server puts us in an upper section at one small cocktail table, mind you it's 6 PEOPLE. My husband asks how much for another table the server says another $1,000, Absolutely not! The server than tells us the VIP tables closer to the bottom are $500 a table so we agree to move and server still wants to try to charge us the $500 for the extra table when we already paid $1200. The server gets tired of arguing and leaves it as is but doesn't communicate to the new server we have a $1200 credit. VIP sections are not roped off so the more crowded it gets people are in our VIP section. The server in our section was awesome though, he was refilling drinks and wrapping cups. If I could give him the 5 stars I would. One of our close friends ends up getting sick so we had to leave in a rush, the bartenders were being jerks and wouldn't give us a water for her. On our way out we get chased by security because supposedly we didn't pay our tab. My husband and his friend ends up paying an extra $1100 because per them that was our bill. Well they never credited us the $1200 already paid online. When we're out the club and about to get in the can the security gives us the $1100 back because they realized we were over charged but they had already embarrassed us and made a whole scene. read more

We purchased from a street tour operator. Costs range from the time of day and your ability to negotiate. The cost includes open bar except for specialty drinks. We paid $55.00 per person which was a great deal. The average price we heard was about $65.00. VIP packages can run well-over $100.00. 2. On the night of your show, a Coco Bongo representative will suggest you head across the street to the Congo Bar to get the party started and to buy drinks. We were enticed by the free drink offer and scurried across the street to the Congo Bar. It was superhero night, and the club dancers were in costumes. A great place to dance and warm up. 3. At 10:00 P.M., head back across the street to Coco Bongo. As you enter, a waiter might usher you to a small circular table which costs "$300.00." The waiter will allow you to stay at the table until someone else purchases it (he expects tips of course). 4. Once you get settled in, the show and dancing starts. The show was excellent, and the dancing was non-stop. There was a constant flow of shooting fog, streamers, beach balls, and audience members dancing on stage. The music was excellent too! We thought it was better than the many Las Vegas clubs we have been to. 5. The waiters keep the drinks coming, so pace yourself and have a great time! Upon exiting Congo Bongo, there are several taxis waiting, or you can take the safe public bus back to the hotel zone for the outrageous price of $1.00. Coco Bongo is a place that shouldn't be missed when visiting Cancun. The club was packed and maybe way too many people in there. Your perception of how good the club is probably depends on the level of ticket you have bought. We bought our tickets on the plane ride to Cancun from Viva Aerobus. The tickets were priced nicely and we upgraded to the Royal Vip when we got to the club. The upgrade was well worth it and I highly recommend paying the little more and having exceptional service. Our ticket included bottle service and we expected to get the cheap stuff but they came with some quality liquor and mixers. Our waiter kept us stocked with ice and juice throughout the whole night. The staff working at club was fun, full of smiles, really gentlemanly (helping the ladies up and down the stairs), and really made sure everyone was having a good time. Plus it is all you can drink, so why not lol. This nightclub has lots of live performances throughout the whole night... life-risking stunt acts, notable scene acts from blockbusters, plus endless dancing and open bar drinking YEAH! I love how Coco Bongo is advertised as "put Vegas nightlife to shame" lol. I had so much fun partying til morning. My party of 8 went there on a Thursday night. Bought tickets with sales reps just outside the club. $70pp AYCDrink. It is already packed to start of with. I can't imagine how crazy it would be on the weekend. If you do not want to be packed inside like sardines, try to avoid Friday-Sunday lol. The most interesting thing I remember that evening was that the male staff working at Coco Bongo actually scout out fun party animals (usually girls) to go dance on top of the square bar, located right in the middle of the dance floor. Totally not hygienic because bartender passes drinks right through people's legs LMAO but definitely something you don't see at a bar everyday and ofc amazing eye candy for the audience down below lol. If you're in Cancun, I highly recommend you to party here on a weekday... just as fun and more roomy to mingle around and comfortably watch performances :) Also, be sure to take a cab ride home after all that drinking. It was crowded to the point that it should have been a serious fire hazard. I'm not a fan of music like this. I've never been to a Pitbull concert, but I'd imagine it to be something similar to this, except for the addition of aerial trapeze-like performances. The drinks were AWFUL. I ordered a margarita and abandoned it after two or three sips. Even though we arrived 30 minutes before the doors opened, there were easily 100 people ahead of us. By the time we got to a spot where we could see, the place was overcrowded. This was BEFORE the show even started. We were also told that there would be live music performed by real musicians. Fun for a wild night out in Cancun! I felt very safe here (I mean as safe as you can feel for a woman in downtown Cancun at night). There was lots of security and the DJ's played great music! Mix of reggaeton and hip hop! Also, you pay a cover (we paid $40 usd) but it includes all inclusive drinks! Totally worth it. We danced the night away until 4am. read more
